  1. What a crazy and fun game. I wonder if Caleb has fallen asleep yet. I think about the vitriol that was directed at Caleb because he paints his nails. How many of them are still clamoring for Jayden "I sit on the sidelines a lot" Daniels? Dude comes up big time, time and again. I meant to say this last week, but I would say it deserves mentioning even more after last night, and that's the Special Teams work has taken a complete 180%. Santos has a miss in there (last week), but he's been very good at not only field goals, but also getting the 20 yard line touch back. There have been much better Bears returns, less penalties and Taylor has pinned them deep. My prediction that Jahdae would shine wasn't that far off. 2 catches isn't off the charts, but that grab for a TD was a shining moment. Olamide, your ticket is ready at the train station. Where are you going? Anywhere but here.
  2. I mean, he's not taking the Addison Russell route to the end of his baseball career, but he's certainly veering off in a similar direction. Illinois is a blue state for one reason only. CHICAGO! I suppose it's healthy to a kid's future to be all over the team owner's knob for future paychecks, but the fanbase is watching. In general, the less I know about a baseball player outside of his baseball prowess, the better. I was so excited about Matt Shaw as a young prospect. Now I couldn't care less if they fire him off to the moon. A couple more Matt Shaw's proudly wearing their political affiliations on their sleeve and my Marquee bill will soon become $20 cheaper per month. I can read a book for 2:15 (or however short games will be in 2026) a day instead of tuning into a game. I'm way behind on my reading.
  3. Hey, look! It's someone who has never driven through Gary, Indiana.
  4. Jahdae Walker is going to shine in this game.
  5. Rams racked up close to 600 yards with no turnovers and lost the game.
  6. There are currently no safeties under contract for 2026.
  7. Yeah, I actually tuned in just in time for the start of the 3rd period. Hawks like to kick me when I'm down.
  8. This is your takeaway from that game? Did you actually watch the game?
  9. I think my disinterest was more about Soderblom stinking up the place yet again. I definitely like watching the youngsters fly around the ice.
  10. Got most of the frustrations out of the way by the end of the first few series. I'll take that. But, I'd also like to see a dominant first drive of the game that ends in 7 points for the good guys. Lots of positives to take away from that game. This OLine is making Swift and Monangai look like Pro Bowl caliber RB's. At the same time, I think they have both been putting the work in. Swift's cuts have been very impressive this season.
  11. I was a Fields apologist for way longer than I should have. But, I was 100% on board with moving on and drafting Caleb. Lovie Smith made the stars align in such a way that there was no way you could have gone any other direction. Thank you, Carolina! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
  12. I was surprised how many chances Sean Payton took with his offense yesterday. He did an early 4th and 8 at a position on the field that seemed insane, but they connected on a pass play for about 20 yards. Ballsy.
  13. Brutal. I thought it might have been Watson's clavicle on replay. His landing arm seemed like it landed directly on his elbow and then all of his weight (and the defender) came down on his elbow. Frozen ground doesn't give much. I'm not liking Rome's chances of suiting up this Saturday if he reaggravated his foot injury in pregame warmups. It's not a game I'd like for Rome to miss, but at least we started seeing Caleb target DJ a bit more yesterday.
  14. Do they have a timeline on his return yet? I actually turned the game off halfway through the first period.
  15. Since there is no baseball discussion happening here, I'm locking the thread. Let's keep it Cubs baseball in the Cubs baseball forum, please.
  16. Absolutely haven't forgotten. But I also don't prescribe to the idea that you just throw money at every guy with a pulse until some rando guy goes "okay" (in Disney's Goofy voice) just to appease the fanbase that "something" needs be done now. I said from day one that the trade for Tucker was only worth it if they extend him. You don't make that trade as a one and done, IMO. You could make Tucker an offer he can't refuse and then trade prospects for Edward Cabrera/similar and stay below the LT line and this team is better than anything they likely do this offseason. Of course, the time to make that offer to Tucker was while you had exclusive negotiating rights. That day is long gone.
  17. I would certainly rather see them try to bring back Tucker over signing Bregman. Bregman does absolutely nothing for me. Of course, staying the course until the trade deadline won't be popular since it means they did little in the offseason and there will be no faith they actually do something at the deadline.
  18. Yeah, I think people are wrong about Thome. He's actually always been very adamant that he never juiced. Sure, so were the juicers, but there just isn't any smoke in regards to Thome's potential usage.
  19. I don't think this is the worst plan, provided they take that remaining money and maybe even blow through the LT at the trade deadline adding players of significance at positions of need. They will know more about playoffs on August 1st than they do before the season starts. If they beef up the rotation and wait out who is performing with the bats, I think they can make it work. I'm not saying it's the best plan, but I can understand that idea.
  20. I think this is what you will find on every message board. If you decide to stay, I'd recommend keeping on topic with the discussion and say way less about your personal life. Ignore people who challenge your AI-ness. We all say something embarrassing or dumb at some point. If you aren't willing to let playful banter at your expense bounce off of you, I'd suggest looking for a different hobby than posting on message boards. There are some amazingly smart people posting here. There are some amazingly not so smart people posting here. Everyone contributes. This isn't a clique. Some people are hated as equally as they are adored. Thick skin is necessary on sports team discussion boards. It's okay to just read posts and not interject opinions on every topic. Blend in. Don't dominate the discussion. More than 70 posts already is alarming during an offseason where nothing of significance is happening. Most of those posts are defending yourself or talking about things that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. If you decide to stay, put the shiny new toy on the shelf for awhile and give equal time to your other toys. This isn't a race. You are never going to win the most posts race here. MOJO will never allow it.
  21. One of the most valuable players on the team last year. Can play 2b or SS as good as just about anyone else in the league. Doesn't hit for power, but certainly hits for average and has great speed on the bases. Smart player. One of my absolute favorites. So, why does he need to go, bro?
  22. I think the Brian part is photoshopped. I feel like the original only misspelled morons. I say this as a person who has his name misspelled about as often as it is spelled correctly, and I definitely notice. I've received credit cards spelled Brain. My name is misspelled so often that when I actually have to fill out a name tag, I usually just put Brain, and rarely does anyone ever even notice. And it's also typical that if I ever corrected someone on the spelling, they just start calling me Brain. I'm actually quite okay with that, since there are certainly worse things people can call me. And now you know what the last "B" stands for in my screen name. My screen name has been a nickname for much longer than my time here.
  23. Now matter how clear it seems, apparently there is an entire system of working around it. I'll probably never be smart enough to figure out how much a team has available to spend in an offseason. I will say that based on what I've seen on Spotrac, I feel like the Bears will need to rework contracts in order to make any significant additions and/or keep some of their expiring contracts. But, maybe I'm wrong about that.
  24. This photo must be AI generated. I'm nearly 18 years older than Rivers and I would easily pass as younger than him if this is what he now looks like.
  25. There are 8 teams with either 2 or 3 losses on the season. How bad does Cleveland even want to win this game after losing to the worst team in the league? Of the 3 win teams, Cleveland has the top pick and would draft 4th if the season ended today. A win potentially knocks them to 8th if the Giants beat Washington. Losing out could move them into the top 3. They play playoff hopefuls the next 3 weeks (Chi, Buf, Pit) and finish with Cincy. Of significance is that the Browns have Sanders, Gabriel and Watson in their QB room for next year, so they are in a position to potentially grab the best non QB in the draft if they lose out. The Bears losing this game would not be good. The Browns winning would be exactly what their fanbase probably doesn't want at this point.
