I would assume that he is mostly speculating about the teams involved, and since the Cubs got their big money hitter this offseason, he doesn't figure the Cubs are involved. I'm not saying they are involved, but I doubt Buster Olney knows either way. I remember hearing Tim Kurkijan on ESPN 1000 about a week before we signed Soriano listing about 5 or 6 teams in the hunt for Soriano ahead of the Cubs. Maybe Bruce could confirm if they have or don't have interest in Manny. I would be willing to give up a lot for Manny. Imagine: Soriano DeRosa Lee Manny Aramis Barrett Pie Izturis They could add 2 lower level pitchers and be the best team in the NL Zambrano, Hill, Prior/Miller, Meche, Ohka/Maddux/or similiar...with Prior or Miller, Marshall, Mateo, Cotts as other starting pitching options.
