  1. Why do you assume Vargas is in the Brewers rotation? I would be surprised to see him beat out Carlos Villenueva for the 5th spot. Either way Gallardo should be in that rotation by August. I also think Sheets is more likley to be healthy than Prior, especially since Sheets is healthy right now. The Brewers might have the best rotation in the NL (without reviewing numbers, the Dodgers are probably better), and they also have some depth in case of injuries this year with Vargas/Villenueva, Jackson, and eventually Gallardo.
  2. Which 10 players were those? The ones that Grimsley named? I don't know which 10 players they were. I think it's likely ESPN's source for this story is the New York Post: http://www.nypost.com/seven/12292006/sports/eight_of_balco_10_failed_steroid_test_sports_brian_costello.htm Here are the ten that were subpoenaed during the BALCO scandal: Barry Bonds Gary Sheffield Jason Giambi Marvin Bernard Benito Santiago Armandos Rios Randy Velarde Jeremy Giambi Bobby Estalella AJ Pierzynski Only Pierzynski was never called to testify. Is it wrong to hope AJ tested positive?
  3. I heard their offer is the same as the Cubs/Lilly deal. 4/40.
  4. Play 3-4. Wale, Scott/Boone, Brown Briggs, Urlacher, Hillenmeyer, Anderson (blitzing)
  5. Unreal Tank. How do people put themselves in these situations?
  6. John Clayton on ESPN News said he thinks this involves "the people who have been staying with Tank." He didn't seem to think this would come down on Tank, but it was hard to tell how much he knows and what is speculation at this point. Either way this sucks.
  7. He still does suck. Give him some love. 2 big runs in a row. I still want Benson playing, but good job by TJ there.
  8. Now that is Bear D! C'mon Rex
  9. Guaranteed Obama runs for President in 08.
  10. So the Bears have tie-breakers over New Orleans? I didn't think that was the case. WE HAVE NO CONFERENCE LOSSES HOW CAN WE NOT? If we don't get HFA, its our own fault; Bears' [8-0 in NFC] remaining schedule strength; (@STL 5-7, TB 3-10, @DET 2-11, & GB 5-8 = 15-36 [10-29 after tonight]) Saints' [8-1 in NFC] remaining schedule strength; (WAS 4-9, @NYG 7-6, & CAR 6-7 = 17-22) Yes, but look at the way each team is playing and the injury situation. HFA is far, far from assured. We would need to win 3/4. If we lose tonight, we will need to win out to secure it. If the Bears win tonight HFA is done. No way they lose 2 of 3 to Tampa, Detroit, and GB. If they lose tonight, I'll start to get worried about locking up the #1 seed. I almost want it to come down to winning the last game. That way we don't "rest" everyone for the playoffs and we also don't sit our team and let Green Bay beat us. How sure are you that we will win tonight? About 70/30. Even if we lose though, I'm not that worried about HFA. There is no way we should lose to any of the last 3 opponents, and the Saints have some fairly tough games left as well.

  12. Lots of Bears fans in the Lou.
  13. Ugh. That is brutal. Time for Boone and Ian Scott to step up and stuff the run. This is a major blow to the D. Without T Harris the front 4 will struggle to get to the QB, the Bears might have to bring some LB and CB blitzes and the secondary will be weaker.
  14. Agreed. One of those guys will step up and take the job. The Cubs need a SS, and a nice 5-year deal for Big Z.
  15. Count me another person really rooting for Rex tonight, but really worried about this game. The losses of Vasher and Tommie Harris could be brutal against a solid Rams offense. I think (hope) good Rex shows up and leads the Bears to a 31-17 win.
  16. I don't see what the big debate is here. Hill will start the season in the rotation. If he pitches well he'll stay there. If he sucks he might lose his spot. That's a good thing.
  17. Also on the says Blanco plays you have a 6-7-8 of Pie, Blanco, Izturis. Thats scary bad.
  18. I'm sure it's been covered somehwere in this thread, but would Marquis keep his #21 with the Cubs? Could be interesting.
  19. That was Ronnie woo woo day and it was longer than 1:48 b/c of rain delays, where Ronnie Woo Woo feel asleep in the rain and people were taking pictures next to him while he was sleeping. Digger Phelps was also sitting close to me and I was able to express my dislike towards him by asking him how well he did vs. UK. I did no such thing!
