  1. It's Gameday! 14 more hours to kickoff. Time for gameday final predictions... Bears 27 Saints 17 Rex 22/34, 255 yards, 2 TD's 0 Turnovers TJ - 19 carries, 83 yards Ced - 13 carries, 51 yards, TD BEAR DOWN!
  2. Cheering for a divisional rival? Interesting. I would never support the Vikings over some random NFC West team. We are 18 minutes away from GAMEDAY!!!! BEAR DOWN! Being as we swept them this year, I have a hard time mustering up the ill will towards them. Hell, we swept the Vikings this year, but I wouldn't root for them. To each his own.

  4. Who is playing at halftime? Fall Out Boy. Ah, I went to high school with their lead singer...but they still suck. GO BEARS!
  5. Actually, UConn got beat by Marquette in their last game at home, ending a 31-game win streak at home. Still, that's a program defining win. Kelvin Sampson will be in Bloomington for as long as he wants the job. Amazing effort by the boys in red. They got manhandled on the UConn end of the boards, but they hit their free throws. 20-21 from the line, including 6 for 6 down the stretch. UConn was just 17 of 28 from the line, which was the difference. IU did a great job sharing the ball, with 18 assists on 24 baskets. The experienced stars stepped up with White having a monster 1st half and Wilmont doing it in the 2nd. I worry about going back on the road again on Tuesday to face the Illini. U of I hasn't been very good this year, but DJ is gonna be spent having played 38 minutes today and again having to face an athletic front line. I'm worried about the emotion of that game as well. U of I fans don't exactly like IU's program right now, and it will be a really tough enviornment to go in and win. I'd love the win, but I'm not incredibly hopeful. Looking forward, that Wisconsin game at home in a week or two is huge. The only game IU plays them this year at Bloomington-a win there gives us a possible huge tiebreaker advantage while protecting the homecourt. I just got cheap tix to IU-UI on ebay! It will be crazy there, and a tough game, but IU is the better team. If any Illini want to brawl, I'll be the guy in red.
  6. Don't think so. 20 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Wow. Sucks for Russ Grimm. This was a false report, I guess. Pretty much everyone is denying it now. Hmm...Seems like they may be waiting for Rivera. They'll have to wait till Feb 5th.
  8. 24 hours away from winning the Halas Trophy! BEAR DOWN!!!!
  9. Hell of a win for IU. UCONN was undefeated at home before today. UCONN was also the most athletic team IU has seen this year. Sampson's boys are now 15-4, with all 4 losses coming to teams currently ranked (UK will drop out in the next poll). With the 77-73 win, the Hoosiers have still not allowed 75 points in a game this season.
  10. Wow. Sucks for Russ Grimm.
  11. Fantastic. The 49ers have to love that, huh?
  12. IU at UCONN today. I hate tough non conference games in the middle of the conference season. It just doesn't feel as important. Anyway, hopefully the Hoosiers can steal a quality road win and leave UCONN healthy and ready for the Illini Tuesday.
  13. Much much much more appropriate than "Bears should finish what Katrina started" How is there anything wrong with saying a Mardi Gras size can of whoop-a**. Mardi Gras is a huge festival. He is saying opening up a huge can of whoop-a** on the Saints. Your comment above was worse. No no. That wasn't sarcasm. I was telling the truth. That's a comment that made me laugh and I was down with it. "Mardi Gras sized can". Coolio. Disregard my post then. GO BEARS!

  15. With gale force winds and a 35 foot storm surge! LOL! ROTFL! LMAO!  Who is being an ass now?
  16. I heard he was given a no-trade clause. Is that true?
  17. Come on people. This is a good thread, it's a good way to pass time until the game. We just need to calm down. Lay off the Katrina stuff, thats not cool or funny. Can't we have a civil debate about this game? We're all excited, lets just not be idiots. Here's another storyline to debate... How should the Bears attack the Saints defense? Everyone seems to want to run and control the ball, but the Saints weakness is in the secondary. I say let Rex air it out a bit and constantly attack in the 15-30 yard pass range, while mixing in about 30 carries between Jones and Benson.
  18. If he can repeat his 06 numbers I would. 800+ OPS, 25 HR's, 36 steals, and he is pretty good in the field. HUGE upgrade over what we have at SS.
  19. Big difference between the Skins and Tampa Game, the Bears Won, the Saints lost. The giants suck and didnt deserve to be in the playoffs and the cowboys defense really hit the skids the last month of the season, even more so than the bears if the Saints are a hot team, the Bears are even hotter reguardless of what every [expletive] outside of John Clayton says at the [expletive] sports broadcasting network Why would wins and losses matter? Lets all marvel at the Saints. They are on fire. I mean they have won 6 of their last 11 games counting the playoff win. What an amazing streak they are on. well listening to ESPN you would think the bears were 3-7 over their last 11 instead of 7-3 I would hope whoever said the Bears are 7-3 in their last "11" would be fired on the spot. Indeed. No way an 8-3 team over the same span can be nearly as hot as the 6-5 team. The Saints are so hot the field temperature at Soilder Field will be 90 degrees on Sunday just because they are standing there. I hope we don't get shutout.
  20. Why is it odd to have a presser for this? This is really big national news with huge implications on the NFL draft. This is a chance for the Cubs to steal some more positive press.
