  1. never thought I would read that Thats awesome. Good for the Rays if true.
  2. The Board of Directors had to get together and agree to it. $42 Million should take about 10 minutes to agree to. Doesn't mean it takes 10 minutes for them to get together. Doesn't mean it takes 6 days to get together either. If they are trying to prove the validity of the offer, thats fine, but they are not "milking" it for media attention as someone else speculated.
  3. The Board of Directors had to get together and agree to it. $42 Million should take about 10 minutes to agree to. Just because we are in a hurry to know doesn't mean they are in a hurry to announce. A couple of days makes no difference to them. I have no idea what the media in Japan is like around this, but I am guessing it is pretty big. Might as well milk the spotlight from their perspective. For what purpose? What will they gain by "milking" the spotlight that comes with selling their best player?

  5. DAMN IT. Good job not throwing it up for an easy pick, Rex.
  6. Hopefully 2005 TJ is back for good.
  7. TJ! TJ is saving his job since 3rd and 22.
  8. WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! BEARS BALL!
  9. and penalties. they look like they were winning the battle of the lines though. that may have been the worst punt return I've ever seen. Do you remember last year?
  10. How do we not get about 6 yards of progress on Hesters return, but they don't get called for a saftey?
  11. that dude is ripped up Holy Crap, I want to go to Ole Miss. DAMN MOOSE
  12. Why don't you wait and see if your 4-4 team can even make the playoffs. There are only two very good teams left on our schedule (Eagles and Giants) and the Falcons and Saints are in free-fall mode. I'm pretty sure we're getting in. You already lost to 4-5 Minny and 4-5 Cincy. Don't get ahead of yourself. We were without Smith and should've beat Minny. I'm still pissed at Chris Gamble for that ridiculous lateral on the punt return. It's crap like that that got Carolina to 4-4 in the first place. I don't care who was hurt. Does the Bears loss last week not count cause we didn't have Brown and Berrian. Carolina is 4-4. If the playoffs started now they are not in it. Get there, then talk.

  15. I'm excited, thrilled, happy, all that stuff about this deal. It is a great deal for the Cubs. That said, let's not go nuts and think Hendry is a good GM. He still put together the worst team in the NL with a $94M payroll last year. He has a long way to go to correct the problems he has, in large part, created the last 3 years.
  16. Well, now we have boatloads of money, and no one to give it to. How about a trade for Manny Ramirez? The contract is big bucks, but short term. His offensive production would exceed Aramis'. Of course he doesn't "hustle" either, right? If we take on the money, his cost in prospects might not be too bad. Trade for Manny Sign Drew Sign Schmidt and Igawa Trade for Marcus Giles C - Barrett 1B - Lee 2B - Giles SS - Izturis/Theriot 3B - Moore/Theriot LF - Manny CF - Drew RF - Murton Zambrano (with extension), Schmidt, Hill, Prior/Miller, Igawa Yeah, right.
  17. If you add in Arkansas losing to either LSU or Tennessee, then yes. But if your scenario happens and Arkansas wins out there is no way they won't jump ND. ETA: Also, is that what you think the Top 6 will be (i.e. how the polls will come out) or how you think it should be? It's what I think it will be. The only thing that might be different is Arkansas at 6 over Notre Dame and I think that only happens if they blow out Tennessee today. If they win a close game I think they'll be 7. Arkansas is significantly behind Notre Dame in terms of BCS points, and the Irish won a blowout today (even though it was Air Force). With a few more quality wins Arkansas could jump the Irish, but I don't see it this week.

  19. Big win for Arizona. So the BCS Top 6 could be this depending on how far Louisville falls... 1. OSU 2. Michigan 3. Florida 4. Texas 5. USC 6. Notre Dame So if Florida gets beat by Arkansas, Texas falls in one of their 3 games left, and ND beats USC the Irish could possibly play for the National Championship. I think it's looking more and more like OSU and Michigan will play twice this season.
