  1. How much is Cal down by? 4. It's on ABC.
  2. Anyone who thinks Lovie Smith is a fool is an idiot. I will not debate the meaning of the word idiot in this case.
  3. Well that sucks.
  4. If it's not 4th down, in case the hold is dropped. They can fall on it, call timeout and try again.
  5. 48 yarder to win...c'mon team Spurrier
  6. FG RANGE! hopefully
  7. Damn, Tebow TD.
  8. A few month's ago I spent an nearly an hour typing up a laundry list of my Jim Hendry gripes that I posted. With no search funtion I can't provide it. I can easily provide a detailed analysis why I think Jim Hendry is a terrible GM. But I don't feel the need. Plenty support my arugment that he is indeeed "an idiot". "Plenty" think he is an idiot or stupid? Even if you are right in your declaration of your legion of followers, agreement does not equal ultimate reality, fact does. There are plenty of people out there who think that Elvis is still alive. Does that make it true? And there is a huge difference between being a terrible GM and being stupid. I don't think he is a terrible GM yet because there are a lot of good things that he has done that balance out your laundry list. But if he botches this off season, I might be changing my mind on that. CubsWin, if you inherit $2 Billion tonight and buy the Cubs tomorrow, would you fire Hendry? I would. Does that make him "an idiot"? I guess not. It does mean that I don't think he is capable of doing his job at a high level.
  9. Would he even know? I'd have to say he'd probably know more than Buster Olney, considering he is Matsuzaka's agent. I thought no one involved (even the Japanese team) except for Selig would know who won until a bid was accepted. I can see a reporter investigating and finding something out. If Boras knows who bid what, the whole process was flawed, wasn't it?
  10. Email him and say WGN Radio reported the Cubs posted $30Million. I bet he posts it on his site.
  11. I dont know if I would agree with that. I would take the proven major league player over a guy who hasn't even thrown a single pitch in the majors. So why isn't Zito in your sig?
  12. First: Wrong Bruce, they are quoting. To me there is a saying, "Bruce Miles with the smiles, Bruce Levine and his craplines." In other words, I would hold what "Levine" and what a "Cubs.com message board poster" say with a grain of salt. Second: As somebody mention earlier....that poste was made before bids were due in. So unless somebody had the power to see the future, there is no way the cubs.com poster and/or Levine would know if the Cubs lost the bid, before the annoucement of the winner. So... I heard George Offman at noon say the Cubs are expected to be outbid by the Yankees and Mets. I don't think he has any actual information, just assumptions.
  13. Wow. Matsuzaka for under $20 Million posting fee would be a steal. Hopefully that is true and the Cubs win (I know thw Cubs never win).
  14. Ryan Adams is very cool. If I wasn't so broke I'd be there.
  15. Damn. I'm getting optimistic. I'm in for a letdown.
  16. I assume it was a Richard Justice report which is plausable. He is more of a national baseball guy than a Stros guy anyway. Plus it's not like this would be out of left field. Most people figured it would come down to those two teams anyway, right?
  17. I think it was at or over $100MM. edited: Reported to be $102MM over 7 years. http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2000/1202/920435.html Thank goodness that didn't work out.
  18. Should be easy tomorrow. BEARS 34 Dolphins 9 Rex Grossman - 21/33, 268, 3 TD's TJ - 22 carries, 88 yards TD Harrington turns the ball over 3 times.
  19. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20061104&content_id=1733239&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb If true it is all the more important to win the Matsuzaka bidding.
  20. Tough to win in the dome, but they can do it. Gophers favored by 6. But Minnesota is 0-5 in conference and haven't done much offensively most of the year and got beat by North Dakota St. at home. If IU can beat Minnesota and Purdue on the road, they have a good shot to tie Penn St. at 4th in the Big Ten, which would put them in the running for the Alamo Bowl, which would be a great accomplishment. Actually, it can be better than that. I heard that since it is likely that the Big 10 will send 2 teams to BCS Bowls, then that leaves Wisconsin for the Capital One Bowl, and if IU can win 2 games, they could be fighting with Penn State for the Outback Bowl. Wow. It probably will be more likely that they go to one of the next 3 bowls though (the Alamo, Champs Sports, Insight). I'll be thrilled with any bowl game. Give me the Motor City Bowl, th micronPC.com bowl (if it still existed), whatever. I just hope the Hoosiers can go bowling.
  21. Big day for the Hoosiers. IU could become bowl eligible for the first time since the early 90's. IU is at Minnesota at 11am. GO HOOSIERS!
  22. http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/baseball/mlb/texas_rangers/15919570.htm Ugh. I'd rather play Theriot.
  23. I'm not expecting anything, but Matsuzaka would be a huge get for the Cubs. Was it ever decided if Kuroda is indeed coming over to MLB this offseason?
