Yeah, I posted that here along with Paxson's comments. Another reason why I think a Bulls-Knicks trade is really unlikely this offseason. I suspect there are some lingering hard feelings over the Curry deal on both sides.

You're also assuming Paxson is looking to move Gordon. We've been down this path twice already, at least. Yes, I am making that assumption. If Pax's interest in Roy is genuine, the assumption is very plausible. You think it's going to happen? I don't. Lets look at another quote of mine... I didn't say I think it would happen. I'm saying it could, and I would not be shocked if it did happen. If Isiah is truly enamored with Ben, he may give up Frye in order to get him. Frye is exactly what this team needs. Let's look at what I wrote.... "You think it's going to happen?" So I didn't say you said anything. I asked you a question and you didn't answer it. The only place I've read about a Gordon for Frye trade is on this board. The Knicks front office can't keep a secret. I would be shocked if it did happen.

I don't think either trade is likely. I'd be shocked to see the Bulls and Knicks make another deal this off season, and, as I've said, I think Isiah only parts with Frye as part of a package for a superstar, like KG. I don't even think the Knicks have the cap space to get a guy like KG at this point. Frye is a nice guy with some upside, but given their current draft pick and talent status, I'm really doubtful as to the Knicks' trading abilities at this point. Isaiah botched things really, really, really badly. They'd have to package Frye with two of their ball-hog perimiter guys (Richardson, Rose, Crawford, Starbury, and Francis) in order to make room for KG. Yeah, it would need to be a multi-team trade most likely, and I don't think Minnesota is trading KG. Just a for instance.

Hilarious. I do, which is why tools and scouts opinions and individual workouts are important. Hey now. I conceded that you were better informed, and I hope I'm wrong. I just personally don't see how he can be an impact player anywhere but defensively. You seemed to be arguing both sides is all. From Tyrus hasn't spent enough time in college ball to prove he's an elite prospect to college ball is too far away from the NBA to prove anything.

Villanueva's name pops up a lot in the rumor mill. The Bulls would never do it, but drafting Roy and trading Hinrich for Charlie could work out well for both teams. I think the Raptors want more of a true PG for him than Gordon.
  9. 1908

I haven't heard his name connected to the Bulls for a month at least. Seems kinda odd to me. I like Bargnani's potential a lot. The Bulls don't seem too, though. That, or they're laying low, trying to convince Toronto they can draft down a few spots and still draft Bargnani.

  11. 1908

    Testify.
  12. 1908

His physical gifts are off the charts and allow for a sky's-the-limit ceiling. Did you see him dominate in the NCAA's? You seem to be projecting him to take a step back with NBA coaching.
  13. 1908

Defensive, rebounding force with an average offensive game. He's long, has an amazing vertical leap, is incredibly quick off his feet, has excellent hands (unlike Chandler) and timing, and is a bulldog. He'll alter a lot of shots. So on a team that is pretty good defensively, but lacks low post scoring and a big guard, you'd want them to take a guy that will be average at best offensively in the frontcourt? At best? Huh? You asked for the worse case scenario, and I think he has an excellent chance at being better than that.

You don't think he's as good as people think he can be? What a colossal understatement. Your outlook is worse than the worst case scenario, and you ignore all of his obvious strengths. I think you'd be very, very hard pressed to find a single scout in the country that agreed with you. Not much else to say on this topic. Wow.
  16. 1908

Doesn't seem to be as much buzz about him as Thomas and Roy. They did work him out this week, though.
  17. 1908

You have to balance risk with reward. Who said anything about putting more value on workouts and interviews? It's all part of the puzzle. And I expect the Cubs to draft on ceiling and potential even more than the Bulls do. If by proven commodity you mean a player that's played 3+ years of college ball, I think that's a very limiting draft strategy. A high percentage of star players in the NBA have limited or no college experience. Again, risk versus reward. We'll find out Pax's preference in a week.
  18. 1908

I don't think the Bulls can find a player in this draft that will turn them into title contenders next season. I think their window opens 2, 3 years down the road. Right when Thomas is becoming a Stoudemire-like force, I hope. For every Amare Stoudemire there are how many Swifts? Players like Thomas carry with them a tremendous risk. He only came out because of his family's financial situation. You're talking about a very immature 18 year old getting millions of dollars. Who's to say he's not going to lose that work ethic and drive? The majority of draft prospects don't reach their ceiling. I find it odd that you're convinced Thomas is such a tremendous risk. I'm talking about a very mature young man from all reports who will be 20 in two months. And who's to say any player won't lose this or that after they're drafted? You do your research. You talk to his coaches and the young man. And you make your pick. I have full confidence in Paxson.

  20. 1908

How does that scouting report compare to Thomas'? Why is Roy's superstar potential more likely or more valid than Thomas'? Thomas is younger and hasn't been playing as long as Roy, suggesting he has a much better shot at being the player that puts "a team on his shoulders every night." I call a player that can put a team on his shoulders every night and carry it a superstar. What would you call him?
  21. 1908

You've read that Roy has superstar potential? Where have you read that? Honestly, I'd like to read it. I've heard people compare Roy to Deng in fact -- lots of skills, master of none kind of guy. Take this clip, for instance. That said, I mentioned Deng because Paxson saw enough in one year of college to draft him, not to compare him to Thomas. I think Thomas' ceiling is higher than Deng's, but Deng is really young still -- younger than Roy.
  22. 1908

One scout described Tyrus as Swift with Ben Wallace's attitude.
  23. 1908

Amazing athlete. Concerns about his work ethic. Like Tim Thomas, and Rudy Gay this year.
  24. 1908

Rightly so. Many believe he has the highest ceiling in the draft. But he also seems to have the competitive drive and work ethic to reach it.
