Forde really wants the Bulls to trade for Garnett. Good stuff.
  2. 1908

I am pleased, and would give Paxson an A-. I'm a little surprised they passed on Brewer. He must be a really bad shooter, because his athleticism and length are off the charts.
  3. 1908

Speculation. Ford mentions it in his blog as a rumor, while Katz writes all his sources say the Bulls aren't making a trade. If the Bulls draft a PG at number 16, it's time to get suspicious.
  4. 1908

Neither player helps the team immediately. Aldridge's passiveness makes me more nervous about him than Thomas.
  5. 1908

Fair enough. I think Paxson's keeping and using the pick. If the Raptors choose Bargnani like most prognosticators believe, all signs point to the Bulls picking either Thomas or Aldridge. But it could all be a mirage as you suggest. I hope its Aldridge, if it shakes down as you are predicting. As long as we're quoting Chad's opinions:

That seems like a steep price to pay, even for the Big Ticket. I think I could live with it if it were Gordon and the no. 2, or Deng and the no. 2. Ford's been advocating that trade for months now without much supporting evidence. I don't think Garnett getting traded this off-season. Maybe during the regular season we'll see something like this, maybe next off-season.

  8. 1908

Why? It's not like he's hoping those guys will fall to him. He's guaranteed to have his pick of two of the three.
  9. 1908

    Roy's out?
  10. 1908

Sign me up. That's so one-sided (in favor of the Bulls) that its not funny. Pax can pick a big at no. 2 (probably Aldridge) and take the best available at 9. Yeah, this trade was discussed in detail a few pages back. viewtopic.php?t=30268&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=559

Doesn't look like Ainge is that stupid. Rats.
  12. That's great. And totally stolen from me earlier in this thread... Dusty... Cant Understand Basic Stats Got OBP? Cuse took your Beta version and made it better. You should thank him.
  13. Walk to and from the park and you will see a ton of spots on your way. Go west on School until you hit Sheffield's to get to the aforementioned Sheffield's. Sheffield's is a great spot, but it's not within stumbling distance of your hotel. I'd recommend the Burwood Tap if that's what you're looking for. If you're a blues fan, you've pretty close to Kingston Mines and B.L.U.E.S. on Halsted St. as well.
  14. Interesting read. Felix has had a disappoiting first half, but it's not fair to even mentioned him in the same sentence as Sing.

Thanks for clarifying. That's a lot of nuance you picked up. It's possible Paxson is playing chicken with the Suns, and I didn't hear the interview. I don't remember John ever saying one thing to the media and doing something else, though. He seems like a straight shooter to me in that regard. Either way, should be a fun few days leading up to the draft.
  17. 1908

Yeah, you've made that pretty clear. Just repeating the word Paxson used.
  18. 1908

Talked to a friend tonight who heard the interview on Boers and Bernstein. He remembered Paxson saying he absolutely wouldn't do it. Paxson thought Marion was an excellent player in the system he played in but the Bulls would be giving up too much -- three assets: Tyson, the number 2 pick, and $14M in cap space -- to get him. Is that your recollection as well?
  19. 1908

No mention of it in any of the local papers today, and all the articles focus on the Bulls draft strategy following a conference call with Pax. So I'd guess not a lot of legs.
  20. 1908

He reminds me of Boozer a lot. Top 5 is a stretch; top 10 doesn't seem like one to me.
  21. 1908

According to Draft Express, these are the 2006 Green Room Invites: LaMarcus Aldridge Hilton Armstrong Andrea Bargnani Ronnie Brewer Rodney Carney Randy Foye Rudy Gay Adam Morrison Patrick O'Bryant J.J. Redick Brandon Roy Cedric Simmons Tyrus Thomas Marcus Williams Shelden Williams The NBA does its best to invite who it projects as the top 15 picks.
  22. Do you see Aramis exercising his out clause with the season he's having?
  23. 1908

    For a 1 or a 2?
  24. 1908

Unless Paxson is blowing smoke, or KG becomes available unexpectedly, it doesn't look like Gordon is going anywhere this off-season, regardless of who the Bulls pick.
