  1. wow. i thought we had stopped calling players "bums" when farnsworth was traded? or was that headcase?
  2. Clearly, you're a Cano fan, as this is the third post I've seen from you in the last five minutes promoting acquiring him. Let me ask you this, then; what possible reason would the Yankees have for trading Cano? Moreover, what could the Cubs offer that would justify the trade in the Yankees' eyes? I like Cano, but his absolute refusal to walk does concern me, and he's not likely to hit .342 every year, so when he has a more normal batting average, his OBP would be closer to his pedestrian .342 career number. He's probably not worth what it would take to get him, given his age, his popularity, and his production to cost ratio. This is an excerpt from BP's Player Profile on Cano: His BABIP was .363 this year. He would have to dramatically increase is walk rate for me to be interested.
  3. are we going to have another league? i'm all for it if so.
  4. Jeter had a .395 BABIP for the year. Fluke season? p.s. You're one of my favorite posters here, kc.
  5. The Yankees' offense has a team EqA of .290. That's just stupid.
  6. Have you seen Wells's stats? Fluke season alert. Wells' 2006 season is very similar to his 2003 season. It's not like he hasn't put up these numbers before.
  7. Zambrano's numbers this year concern me. His BB/9 is way up this year, and so his is FIP. His GB% is down from 50% last year to 46.8% this year. Maybe (hopefully) it's just an aberration, but I'm not so sure.
  8. it doesn't look very good for mr. bush.

  10. Top 10 in VORP: 1. Albert Pujols 66.0 2. Miguel Cabrera 64.6 3. Carlos Beltran 61.3 4. Chase Utley 53.9 5. Lance Berkman 52.4 6. Alfonso Soriano 50.4 7. Ryan Howard 47.9 8. Jose Reyes 46.1 9. Jason Bay 44.3 10. Nick Johnson 43.3
  11. is that because Lee has missed so much time this year? or is Pujols that good? i haven't been paying attention.
  12. i'm not sure you can simply write off baker as not having a part in the injuries of prior and wood.
  13. That would just show how stupid Baker is. No joke. yah.. you would prolly do better than Mr. Jim Fail Hendry.. probably? a chimp has a probable chance of doing a better job than hendry. mr. miles is almost a lock to do a better job, as are many of the posters here.
  14. And the Captain Obvious Award goes to... Brad! and the anal poster award goes to... otis89! congrats.
  15. len kasper for manager plz
  16. you like them better personally or you think Metallica are actually better songwriters-musicmakers? i'm not sure there is a difference.
  17. Yikes, calling Needles beautiful!? Heading any further west? Yes, bound for beautiful Fontana, CA. The question, at this point in time, is when ?? We call it Fontucky out here. :P I better run and hide, Fred will be 25 miles from me!! is that a jab at kentucky?
  18. Not as much as the Beatles or Led Zeppelin... I don't know what your thoughts are, I'm just putting it out there. You must be joking. If Cliff Burton-era Metallica can be called over-rated, than so can the Beatles and Zeppelin. I'll agree 90's and later Metallica is nothing special, but the first Metallica 3 records are as much masterpieces as any Zep or Beatles recordings. Uhh, sorry, but no. Nothing Metallica has ever done can compare to Revolver or Rubber Soul in the "masterpiece" category. For that matter, nothing they've done can compare to Sgt. Pepper, The White Album, Abbey Road... well if you need to be picky, I'd say that Master of Puppets is the best heavy metal record ever made. If you don't want to put it up with beatles stuff, fine, but it's definitely one of the best records ever made I'm on your side Derwood, but ...And Justice For All was absolutely unbelievable musically. 9 songs and 63 minutes of pure awesomeness. I understand the argument that they went too far with AJFA but I absolutely love that album. IMO opinion it's not significantly better than Master of Puppets and I will gladly listen to either any day, but I think AJFA is a bit better. ...and justice would be closer in my eyes if the album didn't sound like crap. the songs are superb, but it's a bad recording. the lack of (or really turned down) bass hurts it also.
