  1. We both agree that Pierre has to get on base more, but as far as Youkilis goes, he was shoved into the position of being a leadoff hitter when Crisp went down and other than striking out too often and having little speed, he's done exactly what's been asked of him. As far as Ortiz and Manny are concerned, neither of them are setting the world on fire right now. Manny has been pretty much equivalent to our own A Ramirez and although Ortiz has plenty of RBI's which is great, his average isn't where it should be either. Manny has been significantly better than Aramis thus far.
  2. the cubs? this is a stupid poll. the cubs are my favorite baseball team, and have been since i've been old enough to have a favorite team. that being said, i would have no problem forgetting about the cubs. i just don't let things like a baseball team influence my mood and emotions. it's a waste of time, and will only cause stress.
  3. barrett? i like cedeno, but i think his .691 OPS and 5/25 KK/BB ratio are getting too much praise
  4. I do not think cubbie rich exists... We have not seen any proof to prove he is who he says... I think it's great that Cards fans come to a Cubs forum for their baseball information. Way to go, Tim. Guess the party line POST-DISPATCH doesn't cover any real stories. Maybe they have a birth certificate you can use? MLB has shown their avoidance of the truth in any kind of substance testing and Rob Manfred showed he was a stooge of Bud Selig at the House hearings last year. That was the one where Big Yak took the 5th all day. I'll believe WADA, the testing failed. Carry on Cards fans. in case you haven't noticed, cardinals fans are not the only ones defending pujols.
  5. How was he horrible? He was hitting .263 off of the bench, served as a good pinch runner, and didn't make any errors. He did what was asked of him, I don't know what more you would have expected from him. a .579 OPS is horrible, bench player or not yet thats higher than Pierre Mabry Bynum Perez blanco if you haven't noticed, the cubs' bench completely sucks.

  7. everyone says they hate him so much, blah blah blah, yet those same people continue to talk about him and elevate his publicity.
  8. the trade doesn't look good, but lets wait til one of these guys becomes a solid starter. going to take a lot to eclipse the dwillis trade btw. why wait? pierre is HORRIBLE. on what is there to wait?
  9. why is he a guy we could use? he was horrible before he got injured
  10. i'd like to point out that pujols is doing all of this with a .240 BABIP. just wait until that climbs to his career norms :S
  11. exactly. on the flip side, murton's .370ish OBP and low SLG is perfect for the leadoff spot right now.

  14. If the Yankees agree to that trade, I'll change my name to DouchebagMcGee. Until then let's put away the drugs and stop proposing Jones + Guzman/Hill + Novoa/Ohman for Giambi + cash trades.
  15. the replay of that looks horrible. his wrist bent completely back
  16. that was sweet. i flipped over to FSN just in time to see him bat
  17. Todd Walker would have been a fine leadoff guy. Leadoff man was only a weakness when Dusty would bat Corey leadoff. Murton too. the more i think about this, the more it makes sense. murton's SLG is really low for a lower-half of the order guy... his .370ish OBP would look nice in the leadoff spot
  18. Not even close. He's still crap offensively, one good catch notwithstanding. he's still crap defensively too, one good catch notwithstanding.
  19. wtg treeman! i feel bad for ponson :(
  20. Why is that? If I weren't a fan I'd still be rooting for the upset. I'm rooting for the Cavs just to see how many ways the talking heads can fall in love with LBJ if he makes it to the ECF. are you saying they don't have a reason to fall in love with him? on a related note, scottie pippen said before the cavs-wizards game that lebron would end up being better than jordan.
  21. that made me really sad :(
  22. Pie or Coats should be brought up anyways, just to replace slappy Pierre. We still would need a big bat. Wait, so you want the team to score even fewer runs than it already does? It's a wonderful idea to replace the guy leading the team in Runs scored. how do you know there will be a dropoff? pierre has been horrible thus far, regardless of him leading the team in runs scored. that's just an indicator of how bad this offense really is.
