  1. they both posted a WARP-1 of 4.2 in 2006.
  2. What he said. don't you get it he stinks so it's funny to pretend he's awesome lol you aren't funny. kent mercker would be a great addition to the 2007 cubs.
  3. Then how come he can't stick w/ anyone, including a franchise (Red Sox) that supposedly appreciates his type of skill set? i have no idea. i'm not sure what that has to do with him posting a .303 EqA in 2004, though. i highly doubt he's simply lost the ability to hit for above-average power and draw walks.
  4. he posted a .303 EqA in 2004. he can still hit.
  5. UK played better than i thought they would, but oh well. i've been saying that for the past two years, and we haven't done much of anything. "tubbyball" is quite possibly the most boring thing to watch on the planet. we need a real point guard.
  6. the Wii is equal/slightly better than the regular xbox in terms of graphical power. check nexgenwars.com. i can't check it right now, but i'm quite confident that the Wii is dominating the PS3 in sales. the Wii had just as many or more people line up for it. since the PS3 had all of the negative news with it (the shootings, muggings, etc), mainstream news didn't make much mention of it. also, nintendo is the only company that profited in the previous generation. sony and microsoft lost money with the xbox and ps2. they make their money off of the games, not the consoles. saying that the gamecube stuggled to compete is a bit erroneous. http://www.forbes.com/technology/2003/12/22/cx_dd_1222mondaymatchup.html PS2 had 62% of the market share. XBox had 21% of the market share. I'd say Gamecube struggled to compete. That article is from 2003, but if you search, I'm sure you'll see that even more recently, PS2 and XBox controlled the market. Gamecube profited from their system, but they didn't sell nearly as many systems or games as the other two. And I might be mistaken, but didn't the PS3 only release a few hundred thousand units? Could it be that the Wii is beating them in sales simply because they released more and there is more opportunity to get one? is it nintendo's fault that sony is an incompetent company and is only going to sell 400,000 units in north america this year? if nintendo released the same amount of units, i guarantee they would sell out just as quickly (actually, they have sold out just as quickly, even with more units). the ps2's year head start on the xbox and gamecube played a large factor in its market share.
  7. i voted 360 because of gears of war and guitar hero 2, but really, you can't go wrong with either one... it's just a matter of personal preference. the Wii is equal/slightly better than the regular xbox in terms of graphical power. check nexgenwars.com. i can't check it right now, but i'm quite confident that the Wii is dominating the PS3 in sales. the Wii had just as many or more people line up for it. since the PS3 had all of the negative news with it (the shootings, muggings, etc), mainstream news didn't make much mention of it. also, nintendo is the only company that profited in the previous generation. sony and microsoft lost money with the xbox and ps2. they make their money off of the games, not the consoles. saying that the gamecube stuggled to compete is a bit erroneous.
  8. Those statistics aren't very important at all, especially RBI and R which are almost completely worthless. SB has some value, but Soriano gets himself out on the bases so much that he doesn't exactly provide a ton of value with his baserunning. How the hell are RBI and R almost completely worthless? Is VORP, Isod, Ipod, Ihop, PMS better ways to judge a player? you really need a subscription to BP.
  9. :( UK had a delay of game pentalty on UT's three yard line. they ended up not scoring. much closer game than i expected, but the fact that UK wasted several opportunities kills me.
  10. any Soriono predictions for 2007? .271/.337/.545
  11. that was a great game.
  12. UK vs UT tomorrow. it would awesome if UK somehow pulled this one out, but i don't see it happening. regardless, UK is in a bowl game! woo. i am loving the season andre' woodson is having. almost 3,000 yards, 61.1 completion percentage, 27 td, and 7 int. 153.23 QB rating. colt brennan's numbers are crazy though
  13. memphis scares me.
  14. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/statpages/glossary/ a bunch of stats are explained there. it doens't have any of the BP stats (for obvious reasons), but it's still a great site.
  15. UCLA is going to thump UK :?
  16. they're actually correct this time around.
  17. it's amazing how inconsistent the voting is. When Sosa won it, people were clamoring for McGwire because of better numbers. Now we see the reverse, with the guy with better numbers losing to the guy on the better team. pujols had a better VORP, a better EqA, better OPS, and a better WARP3.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2651419 was actually kind of surprised to see kentucky. i totally forgot that florida returned all 5 of the starters from last year's team.
  19. Lee was out most of the season. Why focus on only two months of that time? In fact, Lee played the first half of April, so really you're talking about one and a half months of the season and using that to dismiss the need for the Cubs to hold on to their most productive offensive player over the last three years because all you "remember is him dogging it and slacking." Sound reasoning. Ramirez in 2006: April: 71 ABs; .197/.321/.394 (Derrek Lee had 44 ABs) May: 109 ABs; .266/.296/.495 (Lee had zero ABs) June: 105 ABs; .276/.325/.476 (Lee had 22 ABs) July: 96 ABs; .344/.414/.750 (Lee had 53 ABs) August: 111 ABs; .333/.400/640 (Lee with 12 ABs) September: 98 ABs; .306/.346/.551 (Lee had 44 ABs) Ramirez was VERY productive. He played in the most games of his career and he improved greatly on defense. Oh, I guess he's just a "second tier" guy though because of the few grounders he didn't bust ass down the line on. IMO he is a 2nd tier guy because when the cubs needed him, he was invisable....according to some in sports radio, he even asked to be moved down in the line up.... maybe he has been the most productive offensive player in the last 3 years, but remind me, what did the cubs win in 2004, 2005, and 2006?? i want all the players to play 100% him included.... aramis was one of the few cubs players producing when they choked in late 2004.
