  1. Well alright, Cubs giving the Rockies some of their own medicine, soft stuff away, trying to pull, 6-4-3.
  2. Have to look to the opposite field, Rockies are counting on the Cubs trying to pull the ball.
  3. Soft stuff away, nibble, nibble, that's the Rockies game plan and it's working. Cubs have to start looking to drive the ball the other way, stop trying to pull.
  4. Cubs crushed several balls in the first yeah, that at-em, wind ball is not going to work tonight.
  5. Baseball Tonight discussing the Pirates and trading Skenes, going back and forth about keeping him risking injury or trading him for a handful of major league ready talent. Harold Reynolds who isn't correct about quite few things did say something right - the NL Central is winnable, there's no Dodgers or Mets to deal with so, where do the Pirates want to go? The sad part is the Cubs could be the evil empire of the NL Central and Midwest, the only team in the NL Central capable of being so, they choose not to thereby, giving all the other teams a chance.
  6. Pirates as well, yesterday they had a 7 run 8th vs the Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks bullpen seems to be experiencing some of the difficulties the Cubs have had and Martinez is hurt. They've had several late inning implosions, I remember that dipshit Brenly cackling when they had the big 8th in their loss to the Cubs. Don't think he's cackling much these days.
  7. Well, okay, one mistake, so far, for the most, part they've pitched really well, too well for the Rockies.
  8. Thought Horton was close to dominate last night, saw some very good things. Along with some mistakes, think he's close to settling in and a down turn in mistakes.
  9. Combination of the Cubs bats quieting a bit, the wind and, to their credit, Rockies pitchers have yet to a make a mistake this series. It's annoying as horsefeathers but, they in the big leagues which means they're capable. Don't think their mistake free pitching will continue tonight.
  10. Honestly, let Skenes sign with the Dodgers for one billion or whatever dollars, deferred until 2100, then, at least, the Cubs won't have to face him every horsefeathers time they play the Pirates. Seriously, the trade cost is too high, for a risk such as a pitcher. Now, I'd have no problems with the Cubs throwing money at him in FA maybe they can into the deferred game.
  11. What about Birdsell any chance for him in 2025? Sounds like Assad could be ready sometime in July.
  12. Me as well, I don't his cost will be extraordinarily high, think he's a realistic target.
  13. Wouldn't even kick the tires, the cost alone would be prohibitive and pitchers are super fragile.
  14. From a cursory glance at his numbers I believe it's safe to say this guy is definitely worse than yesterday' Rockies' starter. The Cubs will get to him, the Rockies near perfect execution will not continue and the wind will not save them tonight.
  15. Thanks, thought I read about July being a possibility for Assad.
  16. He's not a option now nevertheless, is there any time table for Assad? Or, is he done for 2025?
  17. Watched the condensed game, it was more Wrigley Field conditions that kept the score down than anything Marquez did. Hard pass.
  18. The Cubs will put big runs tomorrow, Rockies won’t keep executing. They’ve only won 9 games for a reason.
  19. After all the rockets, Cubs win on a ball with 63+ EV seems fitting.
  20. Well, horsefeathers me dead, didn't know anything positive regarding Caleb and the Bears was allowed. Thought it was harp on what a pile of horsefeathers the previous coaching staff was 24/7.
  21. In such scenarios I'll go Cubs, NHL commercial filler, NHL after Cubs' game and, if ongoing, NBA after NHL.
  22. Happ (the hot streak is starting), Swanson and Tucker with favorable numbers vs. Marquez, plus a mashing Suzuki, I like the Cubs' chances tonight.
  23. All the data suggested swing and miss was going down for Pressly. Yet, Hoyer, seemingly ignoring the data went ahead with the acquisition of Pressly. That's the part I don't get, I'd really like to hear what Hoyer thought he was going to get from Pressly.
  24. Tomorrow is the day for Horton' break through dominating start, he's had some time to settle in, it's his turn.
