  1. Two really solid outings for Brown one dominate, one really good, is this the first time all season Brown has been good back to back? A consistent Brown is a big plus for the Cubs, the only worry is the number of innings.
  2. Cardinals will probably lose tonight, I don't see how Sonny Gray doesn't get jacked by the Dodgers. Good chance Brewers go down as well, Padres are up, Vasquez is out, advantage Padres.
  3. I really like tomorrow' match up for the Cubs, they'll get to the Tigers starter for some runs probably, quite a few.
  4. At least Ben Brown was effective, showing his potential. And, while I believe the Tigers are good there's no one scary in their lineup, on a given day, it can be held in check.
  5. Cubs will take one of, if not, both of the remaining games. No more Skubal-like starting pitching to face and the Cubs have the best player who appears to be heating up.
  6. With PCA running you always put the pressure on the opposition to execute. PCA should have ran the stop sign.
  7. No, if that pitch is a just a little lower that's an out. I'm certain Brown missed his spot.
  8. Just keep the Cubs in the game Ben, they'll get to Tigers bullpen.
  9. Skubal not withstanding, I think people are forgetting the Cubs have the best hitter on the field tonight and in the series - Kyle Tucker.
  10. Probably won't get this one tonight, didn't expect to, I really like the Cubs chances on Saturday and Sunday.
  11. Brown' got the stuff, biggest issue is location, when he's dialed in, hitting his spots, he's as effective as anyone.
  12. If that third pitch is a strike so were the first two.
  13. At least PCA and Kelly made some hard contact both 99+ EV's.
  14. Burnes done for 2025 with TJS, I just wouldn’t give up the farm for a pitcher no matter who he is, Gore, Skenes even Skubal. Too risky, seems they’re all destined for TJS, especially the hard throwers who generate lots of spin.
  15. I felt the same, just seemed that whatever needed to happen for the Cubs to win did.
  16. Reminds me a of the run the Heat went on in 2023 big difference is the Pacers are actually a good team. Think they've a legitimate chance to win the Finals. Believe many knew the magic would eventually run out for the Heat facing yet another superior opponent in the Finals.
  17. While not a restaurant, there's Eastern Market Brewing Company which allows carry-in and deliveries.
  18. In glancing at his game logs one could say he hasn't a clunker this year, last one was in August. So, while not likely, he's due, why not tonight? Realistically though, I'd say the chances for a clunker, if it happens at all, are far greater towards the end of the season than tonight.
  19. So you're saying there's a chance? The only hope is the Cubs working the count getting his PC up, getting to the Tigers' bullpen. But, Sukbal has issued only 7 BB's - that's horsefeathers amazing - thus far this season so, maybe, lots of fouling off pitches anything to get the PC up.
  20. Extraordinarily tough pitching, I'm not even going to call match-up, mis-match, what does give me some hope is Tigers' bullpen is vulnerable. Plus, their lineup can be held down, it's not as solid as the Cubs lineup and no where near as good as the Dodgers, Padres or Diamondbacks lineups. I don't expect the Cubs to win this game, I do like their chances for the remainder of the series.
  21. Ya, think? 4-5 would pretty damn impressive, even more so when you consider they'll be facing - Wheeler, Luzardo, Skubal, Rodon and Fried - have not looked at opponents rotations. However, when have the Cubs missed the opponents top starters? Seems like never, I know it's happened but, horsefeathers, if the Cubs don't, for example, face Skenes every horsefeathers time they play the Pirates.
  22. Fortunately it was at someone and bonus, Rea got threw the best part of their lineup scoreless.
