Watching Royals/Mariners, Lugo doing well 6IP, 1HR, 2BB, 6K's, wouldn't mind if he's one Jed's deals. Although, I don't agree he'd cost more than a lottery ticket, he's 35 and essentially a rental (player option for 26). If India was part of the deal that would command more, maybe, Alcantara and another fringe prospect. By the way, is the Mariners color guy from Australia? Anyone know?

He was great tonight, bounced back from the last start, didn't miss location much, if at all.

I'd like to see Busch get the start tonight, this is not a Skubal, Luzardo, Gore type LHP. He's s soft tosser whom I believe Busch can handle or, at very least, be more of threat than Justin Turner. This guy isn't much different than Walter maybe slightly worse.

Not to mention, nearly all the Cardinals' staff is a great match up for the Cubs. Almost the whole of their starters are just perfect for the Cubs - nothing over powering, keep the ball down, right hand dominate - they've crushed these guys.

Appears Lopez is on the the 60 day IL? If so, I'd think he'd be removed from consideration by the Cubs.

Bibbe up to 70 pitches, they'll get to him for at least, the tying run, if not more.

It'd be great if they could get this one, I've little faith in Horton tomorrow. Not trying to be down on him, nevertheless, hasn't really shown anything to give me faith he'll be effective.

I believe a lot of his fastball getting clobbered has do with location. I may be wrong but, it appears he leaves many pitches in the middle, middle-middle of the plate which get hit hard. Tomorrow should be a favorable match up for him, let's see if he can put together a dominate start.

Watching a little of the Cardinals and Pirates, Gray going for the Cardinals, pure stuff wise Horton > Gray. Big differentiator is location, Gray hits the corners, goes up and down, have yet to see FB middle-middle from Gray. Gray did hang a slider which Pham smoked for an RBI single.

Just curious did Horton get any swing miss on breaking stuff the other night? Could it be he's tipping his pitches or given, it's the Astros, something more nefarious?

What's that for Wicks at Iowa strong starts back to back? I wonder if he's getting close? I'd like to see him get another shot maybe, against the Cardinals? If successful perhaps, move him into the rotation and move Horton to Iowa or the bullpen? Horton may turn out to be a good to very good MOR but, I'm convinced it's not going to happen this season. Might better serve the Cubs and Horton if he's moved to the pen for now.

I know it's the Brewers but, I don't think they're going to auto-magically get 2023 Woodruff when he comes back.

Yes, but, I think it's safe to assume, at home, they're a step up in competition from the Rockies and Twins.

I'm not all that convinced the Brewers are going to keep scoring enough runs, team wide OPS+ of 98. That's with Frelick, Durbin and Collins over performing. The regression monster will hit, and, for good as Peralta and Misiorowski are and appear to be, they're not going to throw shutouts every start. Misiorowski is going in the second game against the Mets, so far, his control issues haven't been a factor. I would think they'll be a game or two where the control issues might arise, Mets might be a team to make them surface.

For me, as I said more frustration,last night, it was so horsefeathers predictable, seems it always has to be so when it comes to Cubs. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if most fans feel the "only my team" vibe when something bad happens. Would be awesome if the script was flipped tonight, I think it's allowed, even for the Cubs.

It's frustration and blowing off steam on my part. Why did last night have to be so horsefeathers predictable? Player Cubs trade away looks great, player Cubs traded for looks like dogshit. Cubs' rookies are for horsefeathers, can't the horsefeathers script flipped just once?
