Just don't understand the apparent lack of a move for another SP, I like Soroka. But, the Cubs really needed to get away from bullpen/Brown days by adding a SP. Wasn't their record pretty bad in bullpen/Brown games?
I think we have to accept the very real possibility that Jed is done, excuse #1 will be something along the lines of with Jameson and Javier coming back we felt it wasn't necessary to be aggressive.
Look on the bright Cubs kept all of their top prospects and we'll get to watch Cassie strike out for 3+ months after Jed doesn't sign Tucker.
I'd do as well. Duran could have really help towards an almost shut down bullpen, get to 7th with a lead. Then Keller, Palencia, Duran gives you a real good chance.
I think Luzardo and Bregman both could have been shots to significantly improve the Cubs and Jed didn't even come close. The prospect capital the Phillies ended up paying wasn't exactly a haul. The Cubs could have offered what it would took to sign Bregman but Jed struck out again.
Yes, as I said before just frustrated. I think you can understand my lack of confidence that Jed will do what it takes to significantly improve the Cubs this year.
I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow, all the big rentals will be off the board by then, can you say Adrian Houser, some nondescript reliever plus a Brujan+ type utility player?
Including 3-3 in Milwaukee. But, I mean, come on, didn't you know Andrew Vaughn is the greatest trade acquisition ever? 7 hits, 10 K's for those transcendent Brewers today.
What was the score of today' game? How GB's did the offensively superior Brewers hit? How many X-base hits did the Cubs have today? Guess which team leads all of baseball in road wins? Hint it's not your Brewers. Not bad for a pathetic inferior team.
