  1. Any suggestions of pirate streams for tonight' game?
  2. So far in Iowa he's sporting a WHIP of 0.961 which is a big decrease from almost anything he's done at any level. I don't know how to tell if it'll be fixed at the MLB level.
  3. With the big decrease in velocity from last week I knew something was wrong. Ethan Roberts? Why not Little? Or, do the Cubs need see some more strike throwing from Little?
  4. And, I don't believe the Brewers have the resources to cancel out the Cubs' advantage. Cubs don't have to exactly match the Brewers pitching, they just have to improve the staff.
  5. The Brewers are good, I do believe they have some offensive shortcomings that'll eventually show up. Nonetheless, they are a good team, doesn't mean I have to like it or obsess over how good they are as many seem to do.
  6. Trying to be optimistic and positive, why shouldn't any Cubs' fan have such an outlook? Is there something wrong with being positive?
  7. I'm certain the Marlins will put a very high price tag on Alcantara, in such a case, Cubs probably won't pay. Will other teams?
  8. Appears Festa' stuff is almost a carbon copy of yesterday' starter for the Twins. After taking a night off, I believe the Cubs will score plenty of runs tonight. Think they've a good chance to win tonight.
  9. Just one game and really, I don’t give a horsefeathers about the Brewers. Cubs are better and within a few weeks will have an improved starting staff. They’ll be facing another substandard starter tomorrow, I don’t think that leave junk over the middle trick is going to work again for the Twins.
  10. No reason at all the Cubs can’t win the next two. Twins are very beatable, Hodge may not completely healthy,, I’d like to see Little get another chance.
  11. I do believe the light will go on for Shaw, it's just not going to happen for a while.
  12. Starting wise I believe he'll be facing types very similar to what he saw from the Cardinals maybe, that'll help.
  13. Rentals shouldn't cost more than a lottery ticket and, I agree, if you're going to trade Cassie and Wiggins it better be for someone hugely impactful for this season and beyond.
  14. Perhaps, this is the series Shaw breaks out a little? Some thought he was close, series against the Cardinals he had maybe, one hit, don't recall him hitting the ball particularly hard.
  15. As an aside, I know many of us, including myself, have been dogging on Rea but, holy horsefeathers was he good on the fourth. Maybe one mistake, to Winn, which PCA erased, for the whole game?
  16. Get this first one tonight, then split the next two, that'll work.
  17. The Cubs miss Ryan, Lopez is on the DL, the remainder of Twins' rotation appears to be the type of pitchers the Cubs feast on. Is that a fairly accurate statement?
  18. The Dodgers continuance with Betts at SS is one thing I don't understand. He's not a reliable glove out there and the Dodgers' defense isn't exactly stellar. Put him back where he belongs, in the outfield, and bench Conforto.
  19. I doubt it, it's annoying as hell but, even a broken clock is correct twice a day. Vaughn is really not good, his best season - 2023 - resulted in 1.1 WAR with an OPS+ of 102.
  20. For me it would be Cabrera + Merrill Kelly + Eugenio Suárez and, I believe, this could happen without involvement of Cassie or Wiggins. It may take all of Alcantara, Triantos, Long, a couple of arms, etc., I'm okay with that being the price.
  21. I watched most of the game, Woodruff did look good but, a couple of things, first, despite lately playing well, the Marlins are a legitimately terrible offensive team. Team OPS+ of 94, with 5 guys in their lineup below 100, Second, Woodruff appears to have lost some velocity, don't think his stuff is as electric as it once was and will quite probably never be again, for him, the Marlins we're an almost perfect first start.
  22. Besides, of course, winning I thought Wicks looked good and that was the best thing from tonight's game.
  23. Well, at least the Phillies won, nice they beat other NL Central teams besides the Cubs.
  24. Pretty safe to say the Cubs are going to score quite a few runs, too many guys in their lineup have crushed Fedde.
  25. The Horton start last week, did they even offer at any of his breaking/off speed stuff? Although, I don't know how the cheating works on the road, I was under the impression it was solely a home field "advantage".
