I think it's runners scoring from 3B, less than 2 outs and from 2B, no outs.

Yeah, I get sore from traveling, but, I'm 62. Probably is more the Cubs being extra-super-duper cautious than it is on Conrad. Given the rash of injuries can't say I blame them. -
Not saying this will happen, in fact, since I'm saying it, I've probably jinxed it nevertheless, Jason correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't Cabrera exactly the type of pitcher who's stuff wouldn't seem to translate to such a poor regular season. Yet, somehow, finds it in the post season and dominates? Didn't we see a similar type of situation with Pfaadt and the Diamondbacks in 2023? It's why I'm not ready to write Cabrera off, the potential to dominate is there, something Imanaga or Boyd don't have and never will.

Gordon did post a short video of him doing some band work, guess he's been at the Bears facility the whole off season. If, while working hard to come back, he got injured, I'd like to think Ben wouldn't be ripping him a new one. The fact that Ben is ripping him a new one and sounds thoroughly disgusted tells me otherwise. Comparatively speaking if I where Kyler Gordon I'd be pretty horsefeathers embarrassed and inspired to prove people wrong. No surgery, "soft tissue" injury vs. major surgery and the dude who was under the knife makes it back before you do.

From Bears Wire less about two hours ago - ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Monangai is believed to be "fine" and "initial tests showed his knee to be structurally sound, but the team will do an MRI to confirm." Even if he were to miss some time, as long as the line blocks, doesn't matter who's running the ball. Still, come the horsefeathers on with this constant stream of injuries BS.

Wow, given the injury, that's amazing for Trapilo. I have to think the plan to ease him in, no? I mean, could he be fully healed?

Threw one to Whetherholt in that last AB and made him look terrible, to bad he's allergic to consistency.

Really irritating to watch Dobbins, with less than overwhelming stuff get, away with several straight FB's down the middle of the plate.

Dobbins is exactly the mediocre type of pitcher whom the Cubs crush. This Cardinal lead won't last long.

Say Cabrera comes back strong, with Holmes and Gausman, is there any reason to give Imanaga or Boyd a playoff start? Certainly, if they advance, not against the Brewers, if it's the Phillies in the WC are they especially weak against LHP? Looked it up, appears the Phillies are fairly neutral when it comes to RHP vs. LHP - 105 vs. 97 sOPS+, meaning there's no compelling reason for giving Imanaga or Boyd a playoff start at all.

Anyone think the last Cardinals' reliever got away with numerous mistakes? Thought I saw several hung sliders over the middle along with a few BP fastballs. Cubs didn't make him pay for any of those mistakes, still won.

Very nice win, keep putting the pressure on the Brewers. Brewers getting Yamamoto tonight, at there's a chance they'll lose.

4-2, picking up some ground on Milwaukee is pretty damn good. Can't fault the Cubs for last night, appears the Nationals' starter literally pitched the game of his life. No one, not even the Brewers would have got to him. The pressure is on the Brewers, I believe there's a real good chance their lead on the Cubs will be 2 or less games Monday morning.

Claypool and Davis I put them on Poles, Dalman is bad luck, don't know how Poles would have determined or guessed he'd retire. Can't blame Poles for Dalman not wanting to be a vegetable after football. As for Gordon, prior to drafting him, is there a way Poles could have concluded he'd lose his desire for football after getting paid?

Yes, I believe it's the only option for this season. Think the cap hit is less with cutting him in 2027, I may seen that somewhere.
