  1. Good points regarding the possibility of tried legs. Though, it did appear all teams had more trouble shooting on one side, think it would have been going left on the screen. Early in the game vs. Illinois Wagler drove to hoop and his jersey was very clearly grabbed, of course, no call. It chaps my ass the talking heads praising UConn for their "defense and physicality" on Keaton. No, they hacked the horsefeathers out of him and were allowed to because, the chicken-horsefeathers officials wouldn't make any calls.
  2. Don't discount Shota. Despite my hot take, he looked every bit of 2024 Shota his last start.
  3. Wonder if a different configuration will be tried for the next FF at Lucas Oil. There was obviously a problem with the shooting sight lines, one side of the court more so than the other. Playing these FF in non-basketball specific venues sucks. It's too bad the Bears don't have an indoor stadium. If I were Brad I'd make some sort of a deal to allow his team to shoot on portable hoops in some large non-basketball venue once or so a week.
  4. Agree most wholeheartedly, it's why Ohtani is ticking time bomb, only a matter of time until his arm blows up - again. Think the Cubs should put aside Horton as a starter?
  5. Ultimately, should Horton ever return, is his best role in the bullpen?
  6. I think many of us saw the writing on the wall with Horton. An injury waiting to happen, have take what you can get from him but, never count on his availability. It'll never be a thing with Horton, in fact, I make a prediction - he'll never pitch more than 150 innings in a season.
  7. Except for Buzelis that's true of every Karnisovas' pick. IMO even Buzelis doesn't really count, he fell into the Bulls' lap. They were completely prepared to draft another bust.
  8. What about last years' 1st rounder? Given he was picked by the former front office there's an excellent chance he's a bust. However, he was injured basically missing the whole season, he's probably worth a look to see what may be there. Scratch this, after a little research, I'd say he's not worth a look, best to let him go.
  9. I'm glad Lendenborg is done, mainly because he's really horsefeathers good and May is never going to find someone like him again. Secondly, his sometimes chippy-ness and acting like he didn't touch anyone was getting tiresome.
  10. Apparently Blackwell has a high price tag, not worth it IMO. Always thought he's more a product of Gard's system than actually good.
  11. Absolutely, love the hook and hold call on Karaban, it's the correct call. That motherfucker hacked the horsefeathers out of Wagler Saturday night.
  12. Grant Hill: "...they're trying to grind it out, make a Big East game..." yeah, the never happens in the Big Ten, horsefeathers brain dead. Also, Reed is not quick or athletic enough to get around Mara. Reed' whole game is predicated on pushing his defender out of the way and he can't do that to Mara. UConn is hacking, holding, pushing POS team.
  13. Right now sounding like most of the Illini with eligibility are coming back, there's a sense of unfinished business. Besides Mirk, Andrej is the big one, come up with money and he probably stays.
  14. Brown is unable to consistently execute his pitches, take the Arias at bat, snaps off a good breaking pitch for a swinging strike. Then a few pitches later hangs a breaking ball over the middle. As a batter you just wait him out because he'll inevitably make a mistake.
  15. I'd like to think so but, right now he's a gopher ball machine. Don't have much faith he'll be effective.
  16. Shouldn't an OF first steps be back and then adjust in? Conforto played a FB into a double, just terrible, I'm ready for Alcantara, there's no need to keep Conforto on the roster.
  17. Has Shaw barreled up a ball this season? Seems like everything he hits are topper GB's, is it swing mechanics?
  18. Good point plus I strongly suspect UConn will be called on their hack and hold more so than vs. Illinois. They did a hack job on Wagler and got away with it.
  19. Yaxel looked pretty lame out there, him being ineffective might be their only chance.
  20. Michigan off to great start, would be worried about the Arizona center. He's not bothered by Mara' length and it appears he can take him. Watch Arizona keep feeding him. No Yaxel may not matter in tonights game. Need Yaxel to kick the horsefeathers out of UConn on Monday.
  21. It's going to happen, Brad' already capitalized on the recruiting trail, they'll be more FF's.
  22. That was it, hell, even an average night from three and they win. After some early struggles, they end up kicking their asses on boards and did most else well enough. Just couldn't shoot or make layups. It's hard to be upset, disappointed yes, the better team didn't win. Nevertheless, they'll be more FF's and there will be a break through.
  23. Oftentimes you have to fail before you succeed. Prediction: Sometime soon Illinois will win a NC and they'll beat UConn in the title game.
  24. That's true, tonight I give more credit to venue than anything UConn did, missed a plethora of open looks. We'll see how Michigan and Arizona shoot, wouldn't be surprised if they struggle.
