  1. With the exception of the start last August, appears the Cubs have generated a good amount of traffic on the bases. Just haven't been able to cash much of those base runners in.
  2. You're not off base, lots of things to dislike, horsefeathers 2004, didn't Willy Mo Pena pull some throw out of his ass to help beat the Cubs that season as well?
  3. No doubt Grichuk is a scrub's scrub, nevertheless, there's something about the Reds that annoys the horsefeathers out of me. Friedl, Steer and Stephenson are irritating, it's not because they're exceptional, all about average players, just get under the skin. It was great to see the Cubs beat them in such a soul-crushing-kick-in-balls manner.
  4. ABS challenges or not, umpires need to removed from calling balls and strikes period.
  5. Soooo close to a strip sack, looks even better in slow-motion. Jarrett drawing a double on that play was big.
  6. Many of us have bitched about Poles ignoring EDGE and the D-line perhaps, rightly so. Just for shits and giggles I re-watched some of the regular season and post season games vs. GB, I noticed Montez was a monster in those games. On several occasions he destroyed the right side of their line, put heat on Love/Willis* and was a problem for them. I attribute some of this to Booker being on the field and ,the health, or, at least, the return of Gordon and Johnson. My point is, Dayo' motivation notwithstanding, with health (Booker, Gordon, Johnson), we'll probably see this version of Montez. If we do, it'll go a long way towards making the Bears defense average-above average which is all that'll be necessary. *My favorite - https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1psirhh/highlight_montez_sweat_ran_over_the_tackle_for/
  7. All the Cubs need is a short term dude, that's possible.
  8. Vasquez isn't good and the Cubs have been hitting him hard, at least for this game, the optimism might be warranted.
  9. Appears the Padres are the opposite of Dodgers - stay away from the bullpen, make sure you have the lead going into the late innings. Whereas, the Dodgers, you want to get into their bullpen.
  10. Agreed. Beyond this draft, as many have said, it must be by design to not prioritize the D-line with higher picks. Booker and, to some extent, Dexter, may change a little of the narrative of Poles completely ignoring the D-line via the draft.
  11. Wasn't this draft looked upon as weak in D-line overall? If so, I genuinely wonder if, given were the Bears we're drafting, none of the potential targets moved the needle for them? Rather than it being Poles completely ignored the D-line.
  12. Tyler Warren. I believe a few of us, most especially UMFan, thought Loveland was, at least, as good, if not better than Warren.
  13. He'll also be 37 in July, still, maybe there's something left in the tank, can't hurt.
  14. They're all cooked, it's why they're still available. That said, maybe, take a chance on the least cooked or youngest? Bosa or Reddick?
  15. This, it's the primary reason they were terrible on defense, couldn't get off the field enough. Stop the run, sacks and QB pressures will come.
  16. Like what I read about him, some mocks had him going on day 3, got PFF pass and run blocking grades in the 70's.
  17. Must be something bad, even the Ravens and Eagles have stayed away.
  18. Not every guy the Dodgers sign from Japan has to be success, right? Some might fail, that's allowed.
  19. I'm not implicating he'll be good, just suggesting he'll be plenty motivated to be his best whatever that is.
  20. Could 2026 be viewed as a contract year for Dayo Odeyingbo? I see here - https://overthecap.com/player/dayo-odeyingbo/9518 - the Bears could save 15 million in cap space by cutting him in 2027. Thinking we'll see whatever' the best of Dayo in 2026, might not be good, could be something.
  21. There's a mention of arrests in 2023 and 2024 on the NFL site.
  22. Surprised by Johnson, thought he'd stay, still may. However, I've read this isn't the strongest draft so, there's a good chance he'll go in late in the first.
  23. People are thinking impactful DL's and EDGE's were plentiful and available when the Bears picked and they passed. It's just not they way the draft fell.
  24. I understand the sentiment, but, the question remains who? Poles may have tired to trade up, probably couldn't find any takers or a reasonable deal. I do believe Poles will draft a DL or two today.
  25. Dani Dennis-Sutton is still on the board, will Poles have to move up or, is the run on EDGE's over?
