  1. Appears he can recruit, they've got some NFL type talent in several places, that's most of the battle in college football. Just that, last Saturday notwithstanding, has trouble beating other teams with NFL types.
  2. Okay professor, I'll say the Cubs or Brewers have around a 30% maybe, slightly higher chance of beating the Dodgers or Phillies. Is that good enough?
  3. I'm teetering along the same lines, I think it'd really sweet if the Cubs could get this one tonight. Put all the pressure on the Brewers going into Chicago. Realistically, neither of these teams is going to beat the Dodgers or Phillies. It's baseball anything can happen, we've seen not so good WC teams make the WS, we've seen not good teams win the WS.
  4. Sure, but, teams, knowing the Cubs were in a bind, asks were unreasonable. Don't think I'd been too please with Jed giving up the farm for Gallen, Kelly, Houser, etc.
  5. I'm seriously thinking there a greater chance the Illini do not score a TD.
  6. Same here with my wife, she only pays attention to the commercials and half-time show. Though she's not yacking it up during the game, most times, she's reading or looking at her phone.
  7. Well, Fried didn't accommodate the Cubs with a bunch of middle-middle hit-me FB's. Which, given the Cubs were his guests, is pretty damn rude.
  8. They better win, I'm skipping my next to last fall season old man lacrosse tonight. Matt Shaw and probably, Soroka, know what I'm talking about.
  9. Jason as you are a pitching data guru, thought I also saw something about Priester out-pitching his metrics for most, if not, all of this season? Might have been a Red Sox site discussing the merits of their trade with the Brewers and how it currently appears to be one-sided but, may not be for long.
  10. I don't believe there's any coach who can make Young grow another 5+ inches. Young might be best served to take the Doug Flutie route and go to the CFL.
  11. It's really a shame, I wanted him to succeed, he's taken and dealt with a plethora crap and handed it pretty well. Through all of it he's worked his ass off, he deserves some success.
  12. I knew that, Priester is kind of guy the Cubs have crushed almost all season, keeps the ball down, nothing overpowering, right in the Cubs' wheelhouse.
  13. None of our theories are provable, like most things, it's quite probably a little bit of everything. Looking back, as ****** as that clown (can't remember his name) from GB was, I think he recognized Justin has problems with reading the field, progressions. You could see some of this with his play calling.
  14. The discussions on whom should start is all academic if the Cubs bats don't get going. Pretty much anyone who starts for the Brewers today is going to be a step down, time to start horsefeathers hitting.
  15. Suggesting over rated as a prospect? Watched a good portion of the game yesterday, Justin was sacked 5 times, a couple weren't his fault. Missed blocks or bad adjustment, etc. left free runners at him, on other sacks, it was discouraging he couldn't see the holes/openings in Eberflus' zones quick enough - bad coaching didn't teach him this and good coaching won't resolve this issue. I truly wonder if Justin would benefit from a position change, I think he could excel as a WR.
  16. You're probably correct, I've low bar, just want a TD from the Illini. The Hoosiers? They're in for a big dose of reality.
  17. I'd take them scoring a TD and not suffering any injuries.
  18. Coaching staff certainly didn't help, I also believe it's not their fault he can't process quickly enough or correctly see the field.
  19. If Jeanty was a Bear he'd have far superior numbers. Teams know the Raiders are incapable of hurting them through the air, makes stopping Jeanty and the running game a hell of lot easier. Except, of course, when the Raiders faced the Bears.
  20. I'm rooting for the guy, I also understand he may never be a successful starting NFL QB. There's a mental barrier he'll never overcome, I don't know if there's an offensive plan in which he could excel.
  21. I know that, was more snarky, sarcasm on my part and I truly believe McCarthy will be, at best, an average QB. Him getting offensive player of the week after that Monday night was total BS.
  22. I'm guessing Priester and Quintana for the Brewers the next two? If so, it's a step down from what the Cubs have, thus far, faced. Both imminently hittable, no excuses for the Cubs' bats.
  23. I find it interesting that genius QB whisperer McConnell' offenses look decidedly better with veteran former busts or star faded QB's. Why didn't this happen with McCarthy? I know McCarthy is out with an injury, when he did play, he had one good quarter. A quarter that was more awful Bears defense than good Vikings offense.
  24. Isn't Wentz a statue? Why not go after him?
