  1. Wow! He actually bounced it outside! What, the first time this season?
  2. Count the number of illegal blocks! At least three I saw!
  3. I really think a 3 man front could generate a pass rush versus the Bears line.
  4. The o-line is terrible but, Forte just sucks.
  5. Maybe next season after they sign Wade but, seriously, some defense would help. Garnett - they've got no answer for him. But, it astunds me as to why they cannot defend Ray Allen, he's only looking for the three hanging around the perimeter and Pierce? The guy does samething with ball everytime, left, left, left, why haven't they figured that out?
  6. While I don't advocate illegal hits, I've got no problem with it, 'bout time they laid someone out. They've certainly been on the receiving end of such hits far too often.
  7. I love when teams credit their opponents missing open jumpers to their defense. What did the Cletics do? Stare at them menacingly while they were shooting wide open jumpers?
  8. I am as well, turns out Noah may be worth something after all.
  9. Michael Young? I know a lot of folks would be pretty scared of the drop off in production from Young once you get him out of Arlington. He has a career 115 OPS+ at home and a 86 OPS+ on the road. 86 OPS+? What was the collective OPS+ of the Cubs 2b in 2009?
  10. Since they've deemed they must trade Bradley, I believe it's unreasonable to expect anyone of value in return. Other teams knowing this and Bradley' history aren't going to offer much in return.
  11. I know he's just defending his guys, but that's not going to quell any criticism. Why sugar coat it when they suck? To go so far as accusing the OL of playing well is bit much Ron. Similar situation to sugar coating Benson' cut, bottom line Cedric you effing sucked when you were a Bear and deserved to be cut.
  12. As I understand it zone coverage' effectiveness is predicated on the ability of your DL to get to the QB. Being so, it confuses me why the Bears play any zone at all, if you can't get to the QB, which they can't, the zone just leaves wide open recievers.
  13. I don't know about that, it's hard not to look good when a defense chooses to not cover anyone nor does it make adjustments to take away the running game. It was 7 Bengal run blockers vs 6 Bears run defenders most if not all of the first half.
  14. Despite some early success I was never convinced Marinelli or, any other coach for that matter, would make much of difference. Garbage in = Garbage out
  15. It's going to be interesting to hear Lovie minimize they're lack of adjustments or attemps to play more aggressively.
  16. They're afraid of getting torched deep. They'd rather take death by a thousand paper cuts than with one big blow. Which is insanely stupid, the DL's not getting to the QB so, why give him wide open WR's? Why not get in the WR's face perhaps, giving the pathetic joke that is the Bears DL more time to get to possibly get to the QB. When you're down three scores in a blink that conservative [expletive] has got to go, it's a time to get aggressive and maybe change the course of the game.
  17. It's too bad Bradley cannot be somehow be retained because, his trading is not going to be a case of addition by subtraction. They're going to get garbage in return, be a terrible player and/or a crippling contract. Garbage that's going to open another hole in Cubs lineup and be nowhere near as effective as a 1,2 of Fukedome and Bradley would have been.
  18. I think today's loss was just a bump in the road. They will be a .500 team at the end of the year and they are right there now. Lovie and his staff have had one of the best records since he started as head coach. And they have had far worse talent than the other teams around them. Is Lovie a great coach? No. But he has had one of the best records with just barely above average talent. I would like to see what he can do with good talent. He had two good years in 05 and 06. Since then the team has been mediocre, going 7-9, 9-7, and now 3-3. He is a mediocre coach. Now, I highly doubt he will be gone before his contract is up in 2011, but don't act like he is anything more then what he is, and don't get all high and mighty just because fans want a great coach, especially when Shanahan and company are available. The talent Lovie is given is worse than Lovie's coaching ability. I don't understand how you can make such strong statements about this teams lack of talent. Coaching is everything in football. It is by far more important in football than any other sport. Great coaching and a great system can make players look great, and vice versa. Not even a professional scout can accurately comment on a given player's "talent", because once they go to other teams, they can look like different players. Orton and Benson sure do. At some point, the coach has to be accountable. Superbowl winning coaches have recently been fired, so a coach who just went to the Superbowl is certainly fair game too. I don't think its crazy for people to start calling for Lovie's head. And it was always crazy to think Ron Turner deserves a job. How that guy has a job, given his horrific resume, is absolutely beyond me. Exhibit A - Matt Cassel
  19. Could be but, can't that come before and after the game? During the game they should have been looking to seperate his head from shoulders, hit him so hard he doesn't want that next carry. Not congratulate him after every run, letting him know how fantastic he's running.
  20. Oh, by the way, Rick Morrisey, I hate Farve and was absolutely thrilled he coughed up a fumble late in the game leading to a Steeler TD.
  21. I mentioned it earlier but, was anyone else POed that the Bears seemed absolutely thrilled Benson was doing so well? Helping him up, talking to him, smiling, tapping him on the helmet, what the eff?
  22. What can be done to improve? I'm thinking there's got to be a change in the offensive line, Frank O. should be benched, he's the weakest of the weak links. The defensive line, I don't theres anything that can be done, why not go with an all out blitz scheme? Sure, there's the chance that'll give up some big plays but, the secondary cannot cover anyone so, what's the difference? At least there's a chance they'll get to the QB before the ball is thrown.
  23. 3. Lovie has always seemed over matched as a head coach. This is not new sentiment, and has become strikingly evident this year. That was especially evident today, Bengals having great success running the ball yet, he does'nt change the defensive alignment. Keeps going with the same front that the Bengals were destroying.
  24. That's probably true but, some blame must be put on Forte, he never looks up. There was a perfect opprotunity earlier in game, when it was still in doubt, for him to bounce it outside yet, he run's into the middle of the pile.
  25. Run him into the bench.
