  1. PI on the Vikings two of the last three passing attempts?
  2. To be the best you have to beat the best. While it is a cliche' it is also true. Even tho the series went five last yr, the Hawks show the can play with the Wings and even beat them. First round or Conference Finals it doesn't matter when the Hawks face them, they'll likely have to face them at some point. I look forward to a playoff series with the Wings. I've got no problem with the Hawks facing the Wings, the Hawks have significantly improved over last season. I don't believe the same can be said of the Wings.
  3. This team is very much anti-Chicago like, in that's, it's a truly good team. Nashville playing a little over their heads, gaining some confidence and the Hawks just crush any illusions they may have had about be able to hang with them. Cubs, Bears, Bulls and White Sox in a similar situation would have gotten the crap kicked out of them.
  4. I like the shot of Luther heading up court in OT... Sorry wrong quote, meant to quote the Illini 2005 Regional Final photo.
  5. I like the shot of Luther heading up court in OT...
  6. Can't follow it on TV, anyone know of an internet feed, free of course?
  7. I know the o-line has been terrible but, despite playing behind below average line last year Forte still managed to do well. Fumbling, running like he's afraid of being hit, he regressed terribly is there a lingering injury or what?
  8. Thought I heard something about a club option 1 million buyout regarding Silva' contract, does anyone know if this is true?
  9. So if the Cards sign Holliday we'll just concede the NL Central to them in 2010 completely ignoring the fact that Pinerio, Franklin, Thompson, Lohse, all average to poor pitchers at best, pitched out their collective asses?
  10. How good is Nashville? Will they really be able to hang with the Hawks or are they playing a little over their heads?
  11. In all honesty, I knew the Cubs were going to get taken to the cleaners. I sorta figured they could get something better than Carlos Silva in return, but leave it to Jim Hendry to take it to a whole new level of bad. There is one thing that could happen out of this that would make me actually like this trade a little bit, and that would be if Hendry lost his job because of it. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. It seems like too many people out there support the trading of productive pieces for non productive pieces for the sake of a happier clubhouse. The whole happier clubhouse factor is a load of garbage, good teams win, period, look at the A's of the earlier 70's. Reggie Jackson et al fought in the clubhouse yet, they managed to win three consecutive WS.
  12. Did anyone think this was going to end well for the Cubs? I didn't, they backed themselves into a corner, there's no way a team was going to give up even a decent player in trade for Bradley. I still believe they would have been better served by keeping Bradley - a 1-2 of Fukedome and Bradley may have worked out pretty well.
  13. The acquisition Carlos Silva is inconsequential, if I heard it correctly, the Mariners took on Bradley' contract and gave the Cubs 9 million, that's the key.
  14. As has been stated or written Lovie must go, he can dance around questions regarding his crappy game plans and players but, shitty or not, there's no excuse for the plethora of penalities and mental mistakes. Lovie and only Lovie is responsible, even poor teams can still manage not commit dumb penalty after dumb penalty.
  15. At times he seems like a big stiff out there but, big stiffs usually don't make those kind of moves. It appears to me when he's aggressive or plays with a sense of purpose he's pretty good.
  16. Courtesy of illiniguy- I don't think he meant that as it came out though. I think he meant that he would rather not lose other great players because you are concentrating so much on an elite player that you don't have a great chance to land. If that's the case I agree. It hurt us a lot a few years ago. We could have possibly had E'Twaun Moore had we not been waiting around on Eric Gordon. But, yeah you cannot just take kids who commit right away. Or else you will end up with a bunch of mid major kids who were blown away by an Illinois offer. This is what I was getting at with my earlier post regarding Beal.
  17. This may be a rather simplistic view but, all of this Bradley bad clubhouse/chemistry [expletive] becomes relevant when you're losing. Same thing with the Bears, if they were 10 - 1, Urlacher would be wishing to have Cutler' children.
  18. That's what I think as well. I don't see Randle ending up with us. Also I am very glad that Beal isn't at KU. I don't know why Weber continued to waste effort on Beal when he didn't commit (shortly after he was offered) and was talking about keeping his options open or exploring other avenues, etc. If a kid really wants to go to your school he'll commit, when he starts the keeping his options open talk move on.
  19. I believe Angelo is dense and/or stupid enough to target WR's with whatever remaining picks they have and leave the OL to FA - which has worked out so well with Pace.
  20. The more I think about it the Cubs could do worse than keeping Bradley. There's nothing of consequence that'll result from a trade of Bradley, the Cubs have made it known they've got to trade him and teams going to screw the Cubs over.
  21. a better question, is there a position you wouldn't take from the Vikings and give to the Bears? I wouldn't take Farve
  22. With an OL such as the Vikings the Bears are easily 7 - 4 if not better.
  23. Because Rod Marinelli is like the most amazing coach ever and he can turn an 87 year old grandma into a pass rushing king...err queen. I knew this was going to be a bust from the very moment Marinelli was hired, I don't care who is coaching them garbage in = garbage out. They simply can't rush the QB nothing or no one was ever going to change that.
  24. How can we even make improvements with no draft picks? Of course even if we had draft picks, we've proven to be unable to draft the correct players. We can buy a few FAs, but how many FAs that are legit building blocks are out there every year? A handful at most, and the best are probably going to be out of the Bears price range. Yep. My entertainment dollar will be going elsewhere for the forseeable future. Probably to the Hawks. It's got to start with a GM and Head Coach, get someone who's capable of drafting the correct players.
  25. This still wasn't as bad as the Cincinatti loss with all the Benson love by the Bears - that clown was a POS in Chicago and deserved every bit of what he got.
