  1. I believe help is on the way over the next couple of years - http://www.hockeysfuture.com/nhl_organisation_rankings/?start=6 couple this with the Hawks core and we'll have a cup contender again. Many of these prospects were aquired during last off-season, it may not appear so now but, Bowman sold high on Versteeg, Buf among others. This'll be bourne out over the next few years, I think the Canucks better savor and throughly enjoy this one.
  2. They didn't do quite as well with the three ball but, man, how [expletive] bail-out three's did they hit? At least three were of that type.
  3. The Pacers played out their collective asses again but, did anyone think every touch foul was called on the Bulls the last five minutes? Whereas the Pacers got away with some mugging hell, everytime they double teamed Rose they fouled him four, five times.
  4. Don't know their cap situation but, with the Sedins, Luongo, Kesler drawing some big bucks I could see them in the Hawks position next season.
  5. I think Leddy can play as well, we haven't seen much of or from Morin but, he's only 20. While frustrating the Hawks will be strong contenders for the Cup in years to come.
  6. He's not going to pitch to you Pena, take the BB.
  7. Pacers played very well no doubt, Collison probably had the game of his young NBA career, they went 10-18 from 3, 10-18! Reminds me of a tournament game were the 14 seed shoots out its mind for one game. Just don't see the Pacers going 10-18 or likes there of again and the Pacers haven't seen Bulls' best yet.
  8. Seconded, we saw about a month of quality hockey and that's been it. I wasn't expecting much this season after the last off season too much to recover from.
  9. Dissapontment? He [expletive] sucks.
  10. Anything less than a sweep that means that the Cubs will be .500 or below through the first 12 games with almost the easiest possible schedule. I suppose you can call that good news if you want! Even with the Astros being a very poor team I don't think a sweep is possible, 2 of 3 yes but, a sweep no.
  11. Yep, base loaded one out and only 1 run seriously, does anyone remember the last time a Cub got a hit with the bags jacked to break open a game? Happened in 2008 didn't it? Really? You don't remember the last time the Cubs got a hit with the bases loaded? Actually I was being fictious, do remember Theriot hitting a GS in 2009.

  13. Go down 1-2-3 bet it'll take less than 12 pitches for this to happen. Sure enough, numbnuts closing for the Brewers has walked 2 and given up 6 hits in 4.1 innings yet, Bryd, Ramirez and Pena manage to see all of 8 pitches. Well at least the Bulls kicked the Bucks' asses.

  15. Too much inconsistent play, the cap dump and the grind of winning the Cup also had profound effects on this season. I don't know if not making the playoffs this season is such a terrible thing, it'll give them time to rest and get pissed off about this shitty season. Moreover I saw some where that the Hawks came away with a combination of 17 players and draft picks in those deals over last summer - we've yet to see what'll come of these aquistions. I know Bowman sold on high on Versteeg and few others, I gotta think he didn't come away empty handed. Hell, Morin and Leddy are only 19 and 20, I look upon this season as a small bump in the road, they'll back on top of the Central in the near future.
  16. Would Garrett Jones be in baseball if it wasn't for the Cubs?
  17. Many are speaking of the Reds as some young team dynasty in the making, in looking at their 2010 lineup am I missing something? http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CIN/2010.shtml Hernandez and Gomes played above their means, Rolen was injury free, yes Bruce and Votto are young and very good but, let's not kid our selfs the Reds had quite of bit things break right for them in 2010.
  18. Finally the Cubs realized the how useless Silva was and cut their losses by dumping him. Better to lose just money than development time for Cashner, etc by letting that POS pitch. I'm not certain a Baker or even Piniella led Cubs would have endorsed or espoused cutting Sliva. I could easliy see a situation where he would have made the roster and claimed the 5th spot. Would have started and sucked with Baker and Piniella makng excuses and giving him start after start.
  19. They'll fill those holes. With what? Aren't they up against the cap? That leaves the draft and trades besides James, Wade and Bosh what do they have to trade? They have the mid-level and bi-annual exceptions they can use to sign more players even if they're up against the cap. They can't sign any stars, but they don't need stars. Thanks I was unware of the cap exceptions nevertheless, I'll take the Bulls.

  21. If I'm not mistaken the Bulls hold multiple 1st round picks over the next two years given this and the aging Celtics, Spurs and Lakers, the Bulls could be poised to dominate the NBA over the next few seasons. I didn't include the Heat above, while they won't be getting old, I believe the Bulls are simply the better team. The Heat, despite the triumvirate, also have some glaring holes no bench or inside game and weak rebounding compared to the Bulls at least.
  22. I like the Bulls chances tommorrow night, if I'm not mistaken the Bulls have been pretty deadly in "make up games" this season. I know the Bulls kicked their asses shortly after they blew the 20 pt lead in Atlanta but, that was in Chicago. Tommorow night qualifies as the "make up" game.
  23. I hope they stick with kid, Berstein & Boers were, after saying what a turd he is about 10,000 times, suggesting they let him walk. That has disaster written all over it, someone, like [expletive] Kansas or Kentucky is waiting in the wings to pounce all over the situation. They'll take him on, help him mature and he'll develop into the player everyone thought he could be throwing yet more crap on Weber and Illinois. Don't give up on the kid Bruce.
  24. Hell yeah, remember the Illinois - Arizona brackets?
