  1. Thus far Cutler has been sacked 3 times and how many was it vs SD? 2 or 3? Preseason or not that's a problem.
  2. The usual converted on several 2nd and 3rd and longs, no pass rush to speak of.
  3. I'm shocked anyone swings at Marmol pitches, I'd really like to see how may he'd walk in should a team never swing the bat.
  4. He's smart enough to know Marmol can't throw 3 strikes before he throws 4 balls.
  5. Even with Lee and Ramirez sucking to high heaven where would the Cubs be with an average bullpen? League bp average ERA is 4.04 Cubs are at 5.08.
  6. Why I don't get about the Bears is their arrogance, they're above reproach, how dare anyone question them? Besides sucking the last few seasons what have they done to warrant such arrogance? I know it was only the first preseason game but, we saw some of the same old crap - dumb penalties, can't stop anyone on second and long, no running game, missed tackles - I believe the media had every right to question Lovie. Yet he gives off this how dare you question us and anything we do attitude.
  7. A couple of national/Canadian writers have pretty much been saying the same things that these Wings bloggers did. Ok, so whats your honest opinion then? I'm not a mod but personally I'll give you immunity from being called a troll. Are we in denial, or are the 'experts' overlooking what remains on the Hawks? The Hawks are a hard team to measure. I think they could come in anywhere between 90-115 points. I think the Wings are probably a more safe pick to win the division because they have made a couple of small additions that will help and havent not lost anyone of note. I think the Wings will win the division because I am a homer and have a nickel riding on it. I'd say Ladd, Buff and Versteeg were the biggest losses, were they of note? Perhaps, but was it becuase they happened to play well when every one was watching? Versteeg and Buff weren't all that big a factor during the regular season, I believe they're replacable. The biggest loss was Ladd, it'll be felt but, last I checked. Beyond the core players Sharp, Bolland, Brouwer and Hendry didn't fall off the face of the earth, I don't get why the Hawks are going to dive so much in the WC.
  8. Little late in posting nevertheless, good bye and luck D. Lee - most especially to your daughter. However, I'll not be saddened by your departure, when you consider you're largely responsible for this current mess of a season. And you're going from the outhouse to the penthouse, it's hard to shed a tear.
  9. Far be it to me to have the audacity to suggestion the Padre offense isn't very good. I retract all statements, the PADRES ARE THE BEST TEAM EVER, please forgive me.
  10. You got that RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEGIT PITCHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I don't suspect it's all smoke and mirrors - pitching and defense have played a large part in .605 record but, in the playoffs. They're going to be facing legit major league pitchers, not Casey Coleman and Thomas Diamond, legit pitchers who are going to shut them down.
  12. Really? I don't deny their playing well at the moment but, did see their lineup today? Will Venable, Jerry Hariston, Nick Hundley, Tony Gywnn Jr., Everth Cabrera all, save for Hariston' robust .254, hitting .237 or less...
  13. This against the pure [expletive] (beyond Gonzalez) that is the Padre lineup that's pathetic. Even the Cubs who are now arguable the worst team in baseball have 27 more HR's and only 6 less runs than the Padres - they're going to get the crap kicked out of them in the playoffs.
  14. It has been, its too bad him and Ramirez crapped the bed for 4+ months for, if they'd been anything remotely resembling competent. The Cubs would be right there, they've managed to take 5 of the last 7 from one of then NL' supposed best teams in the Cardinals. As terrible as they've been yet, it could have been so much better.
  15. In looking at sully' Hawks' roster I don't know how they're not the best team in the WC this season. If Turco is solid, and I suspect he will be, the Hawks will considered favorites for the cup again, Rosenberg et al clamoring about the loss of Niemi just don't know anything about hockey.
  16. And Santo is getting pissed at Lilly for giving up a HR. I'm not upset at the HR but, what pisses me off is a not very good player - Feliz - hit it.
  17. I too think the Bulls are going to get shut out of Bosh, Wade and LeBron, we're going to end up with Lee or Boozer or both.
  18. at least one of those was fun to watch At least the Cubs aren't falling over themsevles to congratulate the Reds after evey hit or play they like the Bears vs. the Bengals.
  19. Come on, top flight [expletive] like Paul Jannish 4-4? Being bad is one thing but, making the [expletive] that is most of the Reds lineup look compotent that's not even funny bad.
  20. You mean winning or Soto actually making it into the lineup for consecutive games?
  21. I don't know if the Reds are good or if it's just one of those years where everything works out. Beyond Rolen and Votto, they've got an awful lot of fringe players playing very well for them - Miguel Cairo, Ramon Hernandez, etc. - I could see them winning the division this year and falling off the map next year.
  22. Anyone up for more of that defensive catching marvel that is Koyie Hill today?
  23. To be fair though, even Gomes can crush balls placed on a tee for them, in fact, any hitter can - whoops, I meant every hitter except a Cub. Lee and Ramirez couldn't hit .250 in a slow pitch softball league.
  24. All of this against a Reds lineup with, what, 3 quality hitters? Impressive.
