  1. Not so much Alshon, just glad the Eagles are done, they needed smoke and mirrors to make the playoffs, somehow managed to beat the Bears, a team that was clearly better than the Eagles, on the road. If they managed to make the title game, just don't believe they would have provided much competion for the Rams. Saints - Rams should be good game.
  2. What goes around comes around, heart breaking fashion way to lose Eagles. I've the feeling Philadelphia caught lightning in a bottle with Foles as a result, some team is going to give him an outrageous sum of money. Only to be gravely disappointed.
  3. I only recall one miss against the Bears all season and that seemed like a miracle, it's as if opposing kickers haven't missed in the last 5 years.
  4. Bears have these fart-knockers next year at Philadelphia, just like 1985-86 with the Niners, they're going to Philadelphia and kick the Eagles' asses. Parkey for fun, will hit a upright or two, won't matter as the Bears win by double digits.
  5. 'Bama getting their asses kicked tonight would be really refreshing.
  6. It's bad enough the Bears lost but, what's more annoying is listening to another round of Eagles gypsy magic [expletive]. Believe the Saints are going to be a resounding end to that nonsense.
  7. We may see the D take a slight step back next season, some roster attrition may occur and other factors, etc. however, I strongly believe it'll be more than compensated by the O. The O is going to take a big step forward, Mitch is going to bust out, perhaps, not at the level of Mahomes, but, he'll be greatly improved. It's also not unreasonable to expect one of Floyd, Goldman or Nichols to really blow up next season.
  8. Given this is why I wasn't too worried about the cost of Mack, Pace has done a really good job drafting in the later rounds. It's not unreasonable to expect he'll find a quality player or two in this year' draft.
  9. Wished they were down by 4 instead of having to count on their unreliable kicker, the throw away on 3rd down to stop the clock, Miller was open. I'd say there was excellent chance they score a TD on the last drive, you got to think the Eagles felt pretty good about taking their chances with Parkey.
  10. You could, but I'm guessing timing is pretty important on field goals. Trying to dupe the defense by snapping early seems like a good way to decrease your chances of making the field goal. With someone as terrible as Parkey what difference does it make?
  11. Certainly he pretty much missed a layup of a FG.
  12. Second point is key, all those open looks in the 4th quarter where there in the first half. After thinking about it I think his game plan was to go Conservative much of the game and either you are winning and keep going (like they did against the Rams and 49ers) or you open it up and maybe catch the opponent off guard. The broadcast pointed out how on one of those big plays late they faked a screen pass which they had been doing all game, and the defense bit and let the receiver get space to make a long play. In another, the DB bit on a fake thinking Robinson was running a hook route and instead he studdered and went back up field and caught a deep ball. The DB had seen that look all day and tried to jump it for an INT but ended up burned. That said, the Bears were the better team, the better defense, probably better offense and they were at home. I would have loved to have seen Nagy have more confidence in his offense and just light up a weak secondary from the start. When your special teams is mediocre and your kicker is beyond bad and you are vastly better you don’t want to put yourself in a position to lose like that. Nagy has proven to be a good coach and offensive mind but has had a habit of going super conservative at times (the chiefs playoff game last year, packers game, the rams and 49ers games even though they won). I’d like to see him trust his offense more. I get that they have an amazing defense and he wants to play to that but I think he goes too far sometimes* * - I don’t know anything about football In many ways this was Mitch' rookie season, I believe we'll see more trust from Nagy and improvement from Mitch next season.
  13. Nice, Laphroiag Quarter Cask myself.
  14. Second point is key, all those open looks in the 4th quarter where there in the first half.
  15. He’s a nothing QB doing the bare minimum to win. His team caught his floaters enough to beat the bears because the bears qb did nothing all game. "QB has to play good to win" - Mitch outplayed Foles "Well he's a backup" -Foles is reigning SB MVP "Well, he did bare minimum, because Mitch did nothing" I've internet known you for like 20 years dude. You're smarter than this, and not a meatball. You're changing a bad argument and making it worse every time you comment. Not sure why you've chosen this character when discussing Mitch, especially after excusing every single thing Cutler ever did for 7 years. This is dumbfounding. How did this happen? There were several times he threw it up for grabs and yet completed the pass.
  16. Do think it's a reach to say there's 31 other kickers, well 30 (Janokowski Seatlle kicker) who would have easily made that kick.
  17. Guess the Illini got a commitment from Cockburn, given their recent history, it might be a small miracle if actually signs in April.
  18. Definitely, the Eagles secondary and linebackers suck, if Brees has the time Mitch had, he'll lay 30+ on those clowns next week.
  19. The offense had to move the ball and score. They did not. Special teams was fine, sans Parkey. Defense was fine. Offense was not here. They did nothing and the QB, Mitch Trubisky, takes the bulk of the blame. He was not good. The QB has to be good to win in the playoffs. Mitch was not. Special teams had a 32 yard punt (with 12 yards of rolling), on the go-ahead drive. Defense gave up the game-winning score. Offense didn't play well enough, but had over 350 yards. Trubisky was good. He wasn't great. But if the QB has to be good to win in the playoffs, why did the guy who performed worse get the win? I was golng to say something to that extent as well, Foles wasn't all that good. Threw 2 int. probably should have had at least one more.
  20. No, my takeaway is parkey is a cartoon character. But we’ll also spend 10 years Flaccoing our way through the Trubisky years. Hey, Flacco won a super bowl. I’ll take it. Mitch was pretty good today, wouldn't blame him, besides Parkey, if someone must be blamed. I lay it Amos and O'Donnell, if the [expletive] gets off a decent punt the Bears win.
  21. Not too disappointed, yes, almost every pro-kicker would have made the FG but, was not expecting this season. They've got a good chance to dominate the North again, Mitch is going to improve, the arrow is certainly up.
  22. It sounds like they are going to get Cockburn. After flying in his handler to help with the visit. I have no problem with this. We've been getting probation results for the past decade anyways. The bad news however is Frazier's family is trashing Underwood on twitter now after he supposedly told him to shoot less and allow Ayo to shoot more. One of them will be gone at least. Nor do I have a problem with the recruitment of Cockburn, its a dirty business, nobody plays by the rules, moreover, boards have mentioned him and Antigua to be really tight. It's about time Antigua paid off, remember his hiring, touted as one of the nation' top big man recruiters. I just can't fathom a coach telling one player to shoot more and another to shoot less. As a coach myself (lacrosse) I've encouraged a struggling player to be more aggressive and not hesitate to take the open shot within the offense but, not to the detriment of another player.
  23. Illini lost, at home, to a Florida Atlantic team missing two of its starters, in the process of losing they managed to miss 50 shots. 50 shots? That doesn't even seem possible, I'm hoping this is the low point for Underwood however, it may not be. Not being fatalistic but, given they've regressed as the season as gone on, there's a very realistic chance they'll go 0-20 in conference play. The kids, Underwood, appear beat, downtrodden, done, unfortunately, unless you're Duke or Kentucky there's no "draft" for the Illini. They've got to straight up recruit, something Underwood appears to be worse at than coaching.
  24. Yesterday former Bears GM Jerry DeAngelo was on the score, said Vikings could win with Cousins but, will not win because of Cousins, that's about right. He was worried about Foles, thought him to be dangerous, the type of QB teams win because of, not with. This is worrisome however, I've believe the Bears are going to be able control both lines of scrimmage thereby, minimizing what Foles can accomplish.
  25. Add their in your face celebrations, know it doesn't mean much year to year but, it'd be sweet if the Bears returned the favor.
