  1. No, my takeaway is parkey is a cartoon character. But we’ll also spend 10 years Flaccoing our way through the Trubisky years. Hey, Flacco won a super bowl. I’ll take it. Mitch was pretty good today, wouldn't blame him, besides Parkey, if someone must be blamed. I lay it Amos and O'Donnell, if the [expletive] gets off a decent punt the Bears win.
  2. Not too disappointed, yes, almost every pro-kicker would have made the FG but, was not expecting this season. They've got a good chance to dominate the North again, Mitch is going to improve, the arrow is certainly up.
  3. It sounds like they are going to get Cockburn. After flying in his handler to help with the visit. I have no problem with this. We've been getting probation results for the past decade anyways. The bad news however is Frazier's family is trashing Underwood on twitter now after he supposedly told him to shoot less and allow Ayo to shoot more. One of them will be gone at least. Nor do I have a problem with the recruitment of Cockburn, its a dirty business, nobody plays by the rules, moreover, boards have mentioned him and Antigua to be really tight. It's about time Antigua paid off, remember his hiring, touted as one of the nation' top big man recruiters. I just can't fathom a coach telling one player to shoot more and another to shoot less. As a coach myself (lacrosse) I've encouraged a struggling player to be more aggressive and not hesitate to take the open shot within the offense but, not to the detriment of another player.
  4. Illini lost, at home, to a Florida Atlantic team missing two of its starters, in the process of losing they managed to miss 50 shots. 50 shots? That doesn't even seem possible, I'm hoping this is the low point for Underwood however, it may not be. Not being fatalistic but, given they've regressed as the season as gone on, there's a very realistic chance they'll go 0-20 in conference play. The kids, Underwood, appear beat, downtrodden, done, unfortunately, unless you're Duke or Kentucky there's no "draft" for the Illini. They've got to straight up recruit, something Underwood appears to be worse at than coaching.
  5. Yesterday former Bears GM Jerry DeAngelo was on the score, said Vikings could win with Cousins but, will not win because of Cousins, that's about right. He was worried about Foles, thought him to be dangerous, the type of QB teams win because of, not with. This is worrisome however, I've believe the Bears are going to be able control both lines of scrimmage thereby, minimizing what Foles can accomplish.
  6. Add their in your face celebrations, know it doesn't mean much year to year but, it'd be sweet if the Bears returned the favor.
  7. Hell yeah!!!! Spent the better part of the last decade getting their asses kicked by Green Bay and Minnesota, 2018 - end both those [expletive]' playoff hopes! Maybe we should have rooted for an Eagles loss because the Bears are clearly better than the Vikings, if they played them 10 times they'd beat them 10 times. Eagles are definitely more of a threat than the Vikings would have been.
  8. Same here, just don't think this Vikings team is as good as the 2010 Packers, there's no Super Bowl run in these Vikings.
  9. Good to see Anthony Miller getting opportunities.
  10. This letdown [expletive] against garbage teams has got to stop.
  11. Nah Watson just gave Houston the lead, completed TD bomb to some dude from Limestone College - didn't know they had a football program, great lacrosse program though.
  12. Lions mailing it in, thought they might beat the Vikings today, just do not like the idea of the Bears having the Vikings as their opponent in the first round.
  13. I would believe anything said about any Illinois athletic program at this point. Do tell... Drew was told that taking the job is suicide as the President and board think sports are a distraction and do not want to support them at all. Felt they were just an institution of higher learning and that's what all the focus should be on. If that's true they're completely dillusional, success in revenue sports means more funds to support higher learning and research. Not to mention studies have suggested activity increases concentration which, in turn, helps learning, intelligence, etc. Such a view is completely closed-minded by a supposed institute of higher learning.
  14. I hung out with Roger Powell today. That was a win. Sure was, good for you.
  15. Illini playing Missouri tonight, I'm certain the worst possible outcome will occur. Because that's the way it's been for the Illini - if something bad can happen it will. However, I really hope something bad happens to Cuonzo Martin, that nonsense he pulled to get Mark Smith (claiming abuse) immediately eligible along with Tilmon, I'm hoping karma' a bitch and more.
  16. Oh come on. He has an uphill climb because the beginning of his career hasn't been all that great. there is that, but i think the move got so much ridicule that the national guys have taken a narrative and run with it. the coverage of that draft ("ryan pace just got himself fired") was ridiculous and it was obvious at the time. hilarious to look back at now... trubisky, cohen, jackson...shaheen can still be a thing, too. i mean, the expectations for a first year qb playing in the situation he played in last year shouldn't have been so high nor was his performance so bad that he should have been looked at all that negatively, imo. Compare to supposed run away winners in the trade, the Niners, the Bears 2017 draft is really impressive.
  17. https://theloopsports.com/2018/12/19/bears-trubisky-outplayed-rodgers-sunday/ - He was the QB who stepped up and lead his team to a win.
  18. It's a combination of him being really good and the way the game has changed. I mean Mitch has a rating in the 90s and nobody thinks he's any damn good nationally. Not that it matters but, I don't know if Mitch will ever be good nationally, he's bad because the Bears overpaid to get him and that's always going to be the opinion.
  19. Listening to the Score a bit this morning, subject was Trubisky' home/road splits compared to those of Mahomes. Mahomes is actually better on the road - 125+ QBR vs. 105+ QBR at home, what he's doing is phenomenal, could this be a one-in-lifetime season we've seen many good players have (Yaz in '67, Yount in '82, Boudreau in '48 as examples from Baseball) or is he really this good? Mitch is something like 97+ vs. 88+.
  20. Um, the theory wasn't that the 9ers were selecting Mitch. It's that other teams were active in the trade-up market. A decent theory as two other teams did indeed trade up for a QB. At the end of day didn't it boil down to flipping spots for a draft pick? Pace got one the picks back in a later trade with Arizona, isn't that correct?
  21. I remember ESPN' and other so called experts' reactions to the trade, how one-sided it was, how could Pace and the Bears be so foolish? What was really annoying was the media showing some goof looking horsefeathers from the Nners draft coverage/party/whatever cheering and laughing, think there was some clown from the Green Bay camp as well. In comparing drafts, I'd say the Bears 2017 draft has been superior to the Niners 2017 draft.
  22. How delicious is it that Solomon Thomas, the player that the Niners got in that "fleecing" of the Bears by the genius of a GM - Lynch, has been less than average while the Trubisky and the Bears have turned it around? Hell, Roquan Smith has been better than Thomas.
  23. True enough, his ass 1/2 sack of Rodgers was hilarious, Packer lineman was literally holding on for life and Mack still managed to back into Rodgers.
  24. Packers never get beat by a better team, every loss was the result of bad officiating. gotcha What's funny about CheeseheadTV is the highlighted plays on which Rodgers missed TD tosses Mack is being blatantly held.
  25. Not at all...From CheeseheadTV- "For me the game changing play was the recovered FF. That put the Packers in the game and allowed them to score their only TD. The game killing drive was when the refs handed Chi a TD with 2 poor calls. After seeing the game handed to Chi on a silver platter it left 2018 once more with a terrible taste. I know as a fan I'm biased towards the Packers but even talking to fans of other teams they commented on how GB got hosed this year." what? Packers never get beat by a better team, every loss was the result of bad officiating.
