  1. Hell, I can't wait for next year; I'm tired of this broken down mess of a season, and I'm thinking it's gonna get a bug up the FO's butt to go nuts in this offseason. No screwing around with cutesy project players or wack-ass platoons. Me too, this under-performance, bad luck, injury bs seems cyclic to me, it's going to be fun watching the Cubs blow away the NL Central while the Brewers deal with bad luck, injuries, under-performing players and elevated expectations.
  2. Shouldn't we see some sustained good play from him? That's the disappointing part, all we've seen is below average to bad, nothing improving from game to game.
  3. Kreutz is a GD brain dead goon. Every QB "hangs their head" after an incompletion. It is the universal pose of a QB listening to the next play call on his headset. Body language nonsense is not the issue here. I don't give a horsefeathers what it is, they had a chance to bury both these teams and it didn't happen because of Trubisky' ineptitude.
  4. Adding to the frustration is we've seen noteworthy or big things from some of the QB's taken after Mitch namely, Mahomes and Watson, while seeing the continued poor play of Mitch. I remember writing about the Packers holding on all of their TD passes to which someone replied those types of excuses are made by fans of loser teams. Giving Mitch a pass because of a new HC, scheme, etc. is along the same lines, upon seeing some of the highlights, he missed plenty of easy throws - any QB should hit those regardless of scheme, etc. Yeah this is what bothered me. OK he's learning a scheme, he's not making all the right reads, maybe he's trying to force some throws into coverage because of that. I guess that is ok (for now), but when he's underthrowing WRs on deep balls, throwing a dump off pass to his RB that sails 3 feet over his head, underthrowing the ball into double coverage, etc its concerning. By complete chance I happened to end up watching this game sitting next to a former Bear from the early 2000's, would rather not mention who, but he was picking apart Trubisky pretty harshly, even on throws he made. Not saying he's the definitive expert on QB play watching a TV broadcast, but he certainly knows more than I do about this stuff and he confirmed a lot of the things I thought I was seeing. I'm not "giving up" on Trubisky at all and the inexperience excuse still holds a little bit but we need to see improvements pretty quickly. Kreutz didn't pull any punches on the Score, saying he's seen some of the same troublesome things out of Trubisky that he saw of Cutler. Hanging his head after an incompletion, letting it effect his play. Sports is great in that one can atone for their errors almost immediately. I tell the kids I coach - flush it, there's next play to make good on.
  5. The part that annoyed me about this throw is that he saw it, then shuffled his feet, and then threw it with bad footwork. He didn't pull the trigger right away. He's too tentative. I'd rather he be aggressive, playing tentative almost always results in something bad. Errors will happen, if they do occur, a coach would ok with those of commission not omission.
  6. If this team isn't good enough to beat the second-best team in the division or to blow out a completely brutal team like the Raiders, then it isn't ready to compete for more than a thin shot at a wild-card and a one-and-out. And if it's not ready to do that now, then it probably won't ever be, because more first-round picks aren't walking through that door. They are in win-now mode and need to show more, quickly. 7. Caught the later half of the third quarter and all of the fourth quarter on the drive home from my Monday night lax game, heard Roquan Smith' name quite a few times on defense. I knew he was the correct pick for the Bears, he's going to be a monster, him Mack, Hicks, Floyd, the Bears defense is going to be scary. Offense? Bueller? Bueller?
  8. Depends on what time you're planning to get to Soldier. With parts of Lake Shore under construction, combining potential Bears and rush hour traffic, I'd imagine it would be a nightmare to ride in an uber as opposed to taking the El to Roosevelt and walking from there. Yep, right now I'm leaning toward taking the yellow line in skokie to the red line and taking that to roosevelt. Hope to be ready to leave around 5:30. Then maybe an uber home Soldier Field Express may be an option - https://www.transitchicago.com/bus/128/
  9. I'm wondering if we'll see an over-reaction by Nagy, will he be super aggressive, throwing deep on nearly every series? One thing's for certain, if we see the 2nd half offense of the GB game the fan hatred will start early.
  10. [tweet] [/tweet] Someone mentioned if he throws that pass it gets picked by Dix, don't know if that's a fact if Trubisky goes low on throw or high towards the back of the end zone.
  11. We saw this several times last season, in a similar vein wasn't there an earlier red zone possession in which Cohen was wide open on the right? Can't blame his inability to spot or throw to open receivers on the new-ness of the HC and OC.
  12. I think both sides have a fair point. QBs develop at different rates...not necessarily right to give up on him yes, but very fair to acknowledge that there are some red flags popping up. One point I forgot to mention was his confidence, they were touting it, sure as horsefeathers didn't look a confident player in the 2nd half. The work in progress is effective if we see improvement game to game.
  13. Caught a bit of the Score last night, one of the themes was Trubisky is a work in progress, ok. When will this rhetoric become tiresome? After game 8 or 9? Is asking too much to see something substantial from Trubiskly until then?
  14. horsefeathers this guy. I can't believe he had the balls to use that excuse. Isn't reps one of the express purposes of the preseason? I'm with you on this point, this sh*thead better straighten some things out come Monday night.
  15. Yeah, probably. It's what they've always done against the Bears. Really poorly coached game by the Bears. Trubisky started 7-7 for 104 yards. Was 16-28, 67 yards after. Take out the 2-7 for 18 yards on the final drive. Trubisky was 14-21 (still 67% completion), but for 49 yards. That's disgusting. Only 3 of those 21 passes were thrown more than 3 yards from the LOS. That was the norm with Fox, sure would like to see the end of this [expletive]. When it does end we'll see the Bears winning including kicking the Packers ass.
  16. not if that 2nd half defense becomes the norm. On two of the TD passes Packers lineman were nearly ripping the jersey of the Bears defenders, when the offensive line is allowed to hold like that all night don't know what you can do.
  17. Most Packer fans are dismissing the Bears, given recent history that's understandable. However, I've a feeling they're in for a big surprise, as bad as they think/want Trubisky to be he simply isn't. The Bears will probably make some mistakes but, they are going gash the Packer defense like something we've never seen before. Defensively, don't know how much we can expect from Mack and Smith, as mentioned above would be nice to see Smith on third downs. A few early run downs and hard hits on Rodgers when he scrambles might discourage him from doing so later in the game.
  18. The Cubs have had a winning record in every month, are 48-26 against sub-.500 teams, are on pace to win 95 games, and are 3 games up on every team in the NL. Yeah....if those are the flaws that lead to 'sending them home early'...who is this magical team of greatness who is going to take care of that job? Because by definition, it has to be a team that's played worse than them this year, at least until the World Series. Shortly after posting I thought maybe I'm expecting too much. Just annoyed by last and the previous night' game.
  19. This crap - underperforming, getting beat by inferior teams - has been going on all season, granted, its baseball and such things happen from time to time. But the opening series vs. Marlins, getting swept by the Reds, this shitty game and many more examples of poor play occurring more often than time to time, if it continues in the postseason. It could send them home early.
  20. Been thinking the Bears will lose this one, believe we'll see glimpses of what they're heading towards. I've feeling they'll make some mistakes that'll cost them game, from the Packers side not one of those ho-hum we beat the crappy Bears again. But, we won, I'll take it and if the Bears become more consistent our series dominance is over.
  21. Anyone else think the clock struck midnight on the Knights after Holtby made that unconscious save in Game 2? I certainly did, believe the Caps will finish it off Thursday night. Wouldn't be surprised if the Knights regress badly next season, could see them going from No. 1 seed to missing the playoffs ala the Blackhawks.
  22. I'll go with an A as well, it's been a long time since Bears' have gotten things correct regarding the offseason, so used to them screwing up, it's strange when it appears they know what they're doing.
  23. All the sweeter when you add the manner in which they were talking prior and during the bottom of ninth. Their do the players feel the same confidence we do that the Rockies are going to win this game BS. Or, during the inning break, Blackmon, Arenado, Story and more due up.
  24. Maybe not, just saying things have a way of coming back to bite you in the ass.
  25. so, is McD feeling sheepish after the Denver experience or is he hoping to take over in NE eventually? Perhaps he will end up with the NE Job but, karma's a bitch, wouldn't be surprised if the Colts, with their hire this year, are amongst the better AFC teams. And McDaniels ends up with one of the worse teams in the AFC, not completely unconceivable when one removes Brady, Gronkowski, amongst others from the NE roster.
