    Its hard to know how much Helfrich is to blame. Wouldn't be surprised if he's kept... No one's going to be calling for his head. Even with Mitch bouncing back some, at the very least a replacement at QB coach seems easy. Maybe Helfrich takes some of the fall there too, though. Wouldn't utilizing Mitch' strengths from Day 1 be a big step in right direction? We know the OL needs some help but, one of the few positives has been the emergence of Miller and to a lesser extent, Horsted/Holtz, they may found something at TE.

    How much of it may be due to scheme change? The D has taken a slight step back that could be attributed to going from Fangio to Pagano, but Mack has absolutely disappeared Scheme change and the above are probably factors, however, I don't think the Packers, etc. can count on Mack being terrible again next season.

    I think you'll really see the schedule affect the Packers next year. Teams that win a bunch of close games and look like they do statistically typically see a big time regression. Was thinking the 49'ers might be a candidate for a big regression as well.

    This plus Mack will not be invisible, his ineffectiveness this season is combination of many things - him sucking, Hicks injury, etc. - but, it's not because of injury. He'll come back in a big way next year.

    What the hell? First of all, one of the INTs was a Hail Mary at the end of the half. Literally meant nothing to the final score. Secondly, the Bears have beaten 2 teams by double digits. One is in play for the #2 pick. There was 0 realistic chance they win that game yesterday by 10 points if they played next to flawlessly. You're probably correct, more a statement of frustration, fumbling, stumbling Bears can't get out of their own way, Mitch misses open receivers, they drop TD passes (Ridley), all the usual [expletive], is aggravating.

If Mitch doesn't throw 2 int. the Bears win this game by double digits. Losers, giving away games, especially to the Packers.

    How has this Packer team won 11 games? The numbers suggest it's average to below average team, must be TO margin.

    It was a refreshing turn of events, game should have not been that close, Illini outrebounded UM 44-28, had 20 FT to their 6, what kept it close was the Illini' inability to consistently hit 3's or any 3's for that matter. Also, Underwood out-coached Howard - Illini message boards whine and whine about Underwood in over his head, etc.

    Finally the Illini finish off a game and take down Michigan. Maybe this Illinois team will turn out to be good, it was really nice to them throwing down dunks and blocking shots for a change. Michigan, while very good, may have been overachieving a bit thus far, they did not look like a top 5 team tonight. Could have been to the, get this, Illini defense. Michigan may regress a bit more nevertheless, still a tournament team.

    I may quit sports if that happened, there is no reaching the high of the next month again if everything happened to create that scenario. Playoffs or not, from an aesthetic point of view, it'd be great if the Bears beat the Packers and win out. My dream scenario for Sunday, late in the game, Bears holding a small lead. Rodgers, has the Packers driving for the winning score, goes back to pass, throws and Ha-Ha intercepts the pass for a pick 6. During this drive, until the pick 6, all the usual fluky, gypsy magic [expletive] occurs, Bears force several 3rd and longs only to have Rodgers convert while in the grasp of Mack on a tipped pass, etc. Afterwards, Packers lose out, miss the playoffs by one game.

    Utah lost guess they're out, if Baylor beats OU and UGA beats LSU, do think the committee will find a way to get Alabama back in? It's probably irrational on my part but, I feel there's a built in bias towards Alabama, they'll look for and find a way to add Alabama.

    it's easy to forget that the bears owned favre for his last few years. especially while he was with green bay. i can only hope we get to have the same satisfaction/slaying of demons of beating up on rodgers's carcass for a few years. we beat Favre up alot at the end of his career, in fact we pretty much ended his career via Wooten Wasn't that when he was a Viking? Think it was an outdoor game, winter, cold, snow.

    Agreed, to some extent the loss vs. the Eagles was also a dumb loss. Those dopes suck and the Bears made them look good, that was a very, very winnable game.

I would think the game plan should not change much vs. the Packers, their pass rush has improved but, their not so good everywhere else, very vulnerable. Bears get Hicks back do not how much he'll play nor what impact he's going have, at the very least, his presence should fire them up.

    This is cool - Playoff Odds Simulator One scenario for the Bears - they win out + Week 14 - Seahawks beat Rams at LA, Week 15 - Vikings lose to the Chargers in LA, Rams beat the Cowboys in Dallas, Week 16 - 49ers beat the Rams in San Francisco. The main point is winning out, it's almost impossible but, could happen. Assuming they win out, those other game outcomes above are not completely unreasonable.

    Just for shits and giggles in addition to the Bears the Blackhawks managed to beat the Bruins in Boston. Whatever it was for Chicago teams last night, they need to bottle it, not used to my teams enjoying such success. Hell, maybe, even the Illini won't start 0-2 in the Big Ten!

    Maybe he's finally said horsefeathers it, if I don't play aggressive, I'm going to be done after 2020. It's about time, at this point, there's literally nothing to lose perhaps, he's figured that out as well.

    What the horsefeathers was that? I mentioned something about the Bears flipping the script however, I never thought it as a possibility, more wishing, hoping on my part. But, seriously, what the horsefeathers was that, someone called Mack getting to the QB, Bears looking competent, getting a big lead and having their opponent score in garbage time? A TE making plays? I didn't think the Bears knew they could use a TE on offense of course, they lack of is due to how terrible Burton and Shaheen have been but, it did take them 10+ games figure that out. And, in true Bear fashion, they win but lose Roquan Smith quite probably for the season.

    Nothing would be a miracle in 4 games. And that's without taking into account a very good defense seeing the return of Akiem Hicks next week. Good defenses muck things up and keep games close that maybe don't look like they should be. Do I think it's gonna happen? Probably not would be an understatement. But it'd be far from a miracle. On the other hand, that along with the other dominoes falling for them to get in is pretty close to necessitating the assistance of a higher being. I go back and forth, on one hand you've got the defense able to keep them in the game, keeping it close. That seems to, according to Nagy, necessitate a conservative play not to lose game plan which has led to close losses but, losses, nonetheless. On the other hand, because of defense keeping it close, why not be super aggressive on offense? Take shot after shot downfield, sure it may result in turnovers but, there's also a chance it'll result in scores. At least a greater chance in scores than that of the boring conservative avoid turnovers mode.

    Neither Nagy nor Pagano drafted Floyd. What do you expect them to say? I agree and understand the politics, but Floyd's lack of production is just one of many frustrating aspects of this season.

    Heard Nagy and Pagano trying to say something good about Leonard Floyd on the Score. It was pathetic the best they could muster was Floyd is a hard worker who does everything they ask of him. Pagano said he's a "sweep the floors?" kind of guy, whatever the horsefeathers that means. Basically, they said the kind of things one says when trying to be nice, Floyd is a bust and they know it, his lack of impact is one of the reasons Mack has been invisible this season. However, tonight, sure would be nice if Mack shows up.
