  1. The Brewers can add all the Cain's and Yelich's they want - the Cubs still have Kris Bryant.
  2. They did, cannot put together two good halves, wasn't expecting much from them this season. Probably irrational on my part but, I get the feeling Big Ten teams beyond the upper tier better take advantage and beat them now while they can.
  3. All this talk of Charra' greatness reminds of 2010 and the talk of Pronger, apparently, Pronger was going to shut down the whole Hawks team by himself.
  4. Don't remember if was posted earlier but, apparently, Toews said something to extent of lets win this game 3-1 between the third and overtime.
  5. I agree, very good point, while the Kings are big and physical, they don't have a Datysuk or Zetterberg - far and away two of the best defensive forwards in hockey - to hound Toews all series. I look for him to bounce back and have a better series.
  6. Edit: BTW, I'll take it given how that particular Bears game ended Funny he doesn't remember Bernard Berrian getting jobbed by the same call a few years earlier at Ford Field and I believe the Bears did end up winning that game with the Johnson call.
  7. I agree. I don't really want to post this in the post victory afterglow, but i don't like our odds that much in this series. Especially hate that Games 1 and 2 are back to back, which I feel like increase the chances that the Kings steal at least 1 of the 2 games at the UC. I look for Toews, Kane and Hossa to have a better series than this one, while Kings are going to come out slugging, there's way to deal with that and take advantage of an over aggressive team.
  8. I dunno...the Hawks played quite well in Game 4 and in big stretches of Game 3, so it didn't take me by complete surprise. I mean its always a bit of a surprise when a team comes back from down 3-1, but it was a more talented team with home ice advantage that came back. I saw that as well, it wasn't as if the Hawks weren't being significantly out played, Howard was good but, he had a [expletive] of luck as well. The disallowed goal, the Hawks hitting a post after cleanly beating Howard on at least 4 occasions, the signals were there that a turn around could happen.
  9. Perhaps, its just me but, they were all pumping hard for the Wings, couldn't believe Eddie O' commentary in favor of the Wings throughout the whole series.
  10. Couldn't be more fitting, officials disallow the second legit goal of the series for the Hawks and the winner is deflected of that dirty POS Kronwall.
  11. And there's three!!! All the credit to the Wings and Babcock but, Quenville must be given some credit, true he was pants early on however, he did some xing and oing himself. Love watching FSD, they're doing a little whining about Bolland possibly committing a boarding penalty prior to Seabrook' series winner. But after their cocky talk after game four its awesome. Also complaining about Kronwall being injured after Bickell nailed - Kronwalled even him in game 5, funny they had no problems in 2009 when Kronwall laid out Martin Havlat - I say payback is a bitch. Finally, one of our teams came back from a seemingly insurmountable deficient rip out the hearts of the team and fans that were up. It's about [expletive] time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. There's two, Kane's next, will deliver.
  13. There's one, Kane and Hossa are in queue, its coming.
  14. I'm trying to be optimistic and its about [expletive] time one of our teams came back from being down 3-1 to win a series. Its certainly happened enough to our teams the other way.
  15. Is there really anything in the last three games that would lead someone to think they could win 3 in a row? Game 3 wasn't that bad. Moreover, while Howard has been good, he's also been very lucky, the last two games he's been cleanly beat 4 times only to have the puck hit off a post. Those kinds of things tend to even out and I think they're going swing in the Hawks favor over the next three games. Swing back enough to result in 3 straight wins? Glad if it happens, but I doubt it will. They've been missing on their chances, Howard' come up big a few times but, the Hawks have just missed. The will generate more scoring chances and I think its unreasonable to expect them to keep missing. The will start to bury some of them, wouldn't be surprised if game 5 is a blowout win for the Hawks.

  17. The conciliatory talk is for [expletive], its not over, the Hawks are more than capable of winning the next three, things are very close to clicking.
  18. Toews is the guy you should be aggravated with. He did nothing in the first series. Kane bossed that one, at least, and has at least been on the scoresheet against Detroit. Toews has allowed Detroit to completely take him out of the series. Thank you. In Toews defense the Wings have been allowed to interfere with his progress up the ice throughout the whole series. Haven't been called once for a penalty.
  19. If the Hawks keep up that third period effort the Wings will cave in, sooner or later those posts won't be there for Howard.
  20. The way NBC is calling it, the Hawks shouldn't even bother showing up Thursday, sounding like Babcock is the only coach capable of making adjustments.
  21. Not in the third, Lady Luck was dealing for Detroit.
  22. No discredit to Datsyuk but that was a soft goal and Howard may have been more lucky than good.
  23. I don't believe your pick of the Wings over the Ducks is biased, the Ducks simply aren't that good. Here's an interesting statistic - http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=50225#.UX2fh0ofuKI, I haven't located a more recent listing but, I suspect the Hawks are back on top. Nevertheless, check out where the Wings are in comparison to the Ducks, this statistic suggests what many have said -Anaheim' record is misleading. Whereas, the Wings are still a pretty decent team.
  24. If the Hawks didn't occasionally get sloppy in their own end would Nashville ever score?
  25. I believe its the fact he cannot consistently throw strikes to save his life. Even with mediocre stuff someone who gets ahead of the hitters is going to have more success. Getting up on the hitters 0-1 makes a tremendous amount of difference in the at bat, 0-2 more so. Marmol' fairly easy to face, take, take, take, he'll pitch himself into a favorable hitters count then he'll serve one up.
