  1. Exactly, when I re-read it didn't make sense to me either, should he show signs of moderate improvement in 2020, do not want the Bears fooled into giving him a financially crippling extension. If he shows only moderate signs of improvement the team won't be that much better and I would expect them not to give him an extension. Logically your statement is correct however, we're talking about Pace, who invested so much in Mitch, don't you think he'd find any excuse to re-up. Rather, than finally admit his mistake and move on?
  2. They'll try to find the Mahomes-iest pick they can, but just end up with some Air Raid guy with a lots a confidence but 1/3 the arm talent. A guy confident QB with a lesser arm is still an improvement over Mitch, no?
  3. what? I think he's worried if the Bears turn it around with Mitch they'll give him a dumb extension. Exactly, when I re-read it didn't make sense to me either, should he show signs of moderate improvement in 2020, do not want the Bears fooled into giving him a financially crippling extension.
  4. Yes, a castoff like Alex Smith plus Andy Reid plus a 1st round pick. The Bears are not in the situation KC was in. The Bears will not have an Andy Reid to pull that off. They are better off trying to grow with the guys they have and hope Nagy learns from mistakes and together with Pace they get the right guy in 2021. Pace made the team better than it was, Nagy got the most out of them last year. There is something there with this group. They need to fix the offensive line and then draft a QB in 2021. I just don't think Nagy is the guy to lead the team anymore. Since I don't think they'll move on from him, I'll hope 2019 is the outlier and not 2018, but the best case scenario seems like he's a good HC who will need to hire good OCs to run his system, which obviously wasn't the purpose of hiring an offensive minded HC. It's got to a new QB in 2020, with Mitch as the backup, 3rd string whatever. Because what if Nagy, or someone else, finally figures out how to utilize Mitch' strengths, the Bears have a good 2020, make the playoffs. etc.? Somewhat of false positive, they'll probably extend Mitch and the Bears will be in the same boat as the Rams with Goff - not good.
  5. I know Mitch has been terrible but, once again, a super winnable game, and Nagy refuses to be aggressive. Had several chances last night, most especially on a makeable 4th down, 6 or so minutes, around midfield, any chance they had of winning called for a bold move. Instead, a punt, I believe we all knew the game was over at that point. This whole playing it safe, don't turn the ball over try to keep it close is not working, we can see this, why can't Nagy horsefeathering see it? So the horsefeathers what if Mitch throws 6 interceptions? There's literally nothing to play for, it's garbage time for the remainder of the season, grow some balls you horsefeathering gutless horsefeathers Nagy!
  6. Guess the author tried to reach Pace with no success, Pace is certainly to blame for this mess. However, in some respects I can sympathize with Pace refusing to comment. Just how many times in how many ways can you be told you fucked up? Before growing a thin skin and telling someone who wishes to document you're failure, once again, to horsefeathers off? The one thing we can't blame Pace for is the bust of Roquan Smith, he was widely hailed as one of the best picks of the 2018 draft, all teams would have drafted him in the spot he was chosen. There isn't a NFL GM or front office in existence that could have anticipated Roquan would have whatever problems he's having.
  7. Conclusions I've drawn - --Adam Shaheen should be cut --Tarik Cohen should be regulated to kick returning --Playing out of I, leveraging David Montgomery, offers the best chance at improving and being aggressive on offense --The Bears were historically bad on offense to make that Eagles defense, which is terrible, look good
  8. Great reply.... [tweet] [/tweet]
  9. Is there talk he'll actually be available? A multi year deal would be better if it could actually happen. It seals Pace/Nagy to Rivers and not another young QB who could require years to evaluate. With the Bears cap space, a multi year deal would allow them more creativity to fit him in without forgoing like, everything else Do not know but, he's listed as a UFA for 2020, would the Chargers put a franchise tag on him at 38-39?
  10. Could a one year deal for Philip Rivers work in 2020? Does Rivers have enough for one decent year?
  11. I can't even tell because even when there's open receivers downfield, Mitch checks down or runs with it. With one exception where he hit an open receiver downfield. Apparently Nagy told Mitch the time for talking was done at halftime. Ice out Mitch the rest of the season. No one talk to him. Avert your eyes if he makes eye contact. Whitehair will get the helmet with the mic and call plays in the huddle. Maybe it's time Nagy got in his face and challenged him, nothing else has worked, No More Mr. Nice Guy Alice Cooper.
  12. I can't even tell because even when there's open receivers downfield, Mitch checks down or runs with it. With one exception where he hit an open receiver downfield. That reads like Mitch is scared shitless out there, what ever hope there is for his career as an NFL QB, he's got to say horsefeathers it and go balls out aggressive. There's no pressure now, why not be hyper-aggressive?
  13. Not that Mitch would have done anything but, this game was lost in the first half. For those that watched was Nagy playing it safe, not to lose, I've no faith in the QB mode?
  14. I see the Bears winning big - even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while and, the Eagles are terrible vs the Pass - or, much more likely, them losing a close game. A close game with the same old, same old, flashes of brilliance overshadowed by Mitch' misses of wide open receivers, taking bad sacks, dropping the ball because he lost it in the Sun or something likewise stupid. And, of course, Jordan Howard will have a great game afterwards, he'll be profusely congratulated by all of his former teammates ala Cedric Benson, hell, they'll probably carry him off the field. Has a former Bear EVER had a bad game against the Bears? It has happened, right?
  15. As long as they do not pick up the option year, or god forbid, extend him, I do not care what they do with him next season. I don't want them spending $100m on some journeyman nobody who happens to be a hot free agent. Go ahead and make him play for all I care. Believe I've read he's guaranteed money for 2020 and the Bears hold the option for 2021, might as well make him earn it in 2020, somehow. 2021? He's gone.
  16. That miss to Robinson at the 1 yard line was the very definition of why Trubisky is not an NFL QB. Short pass, wide open and he can't even put it in a spot where Robinson can at least catch it. I don't know the exact radius of the window to make that a catchable ball, but he wasn't close on what was essentially a non moving target. Prior to his drop/fumble he missed a wide open TD to Gabriel, its got to be frustrating as hell for the receivers. But, getting in Mitch' face won't help, just got to keep trying.
  17. Exactly, season' over, playing scared will only lead to more mistakes. Even though Nagy' gun-shy and has no faith in his QB, he's got to go out guns blazing being aggressive as aggressive can be, it's the only chance they have, if any. Think Mitch knows his career might be coming to end very soon?
  18. Frustrating, what's their record with average play at QB? I'd say at least 6 - 1.
  19. With the game in balance would you trust your mentally fragile, low football IQ OB to successfully execute anything? I’m guessing the difference in making a 35 yard FG vs a 41 yard FG is worth the risk of fumbling which has probably a 1% chance of happening given the situation where they are told to secure the ball over all else. All in all he should have hit the 41 yarder regardless but it seems moronic to not try to have the kick from as close as possible. Anyways it’s hilarious that the Bears came away from 3 1st and goal situations from the 9, 4 and 1 yard line with 9 points in a game they lost by 1 point That's where the game was lost, you've got try to not score at least one TD in those situations. And lo and behold the Bears tried and succeeded.
  20. With the game in balance would you trust your mentally fragile, low football IQ OB to successfully execute anything? I would trust him to execute a simple hand-off, yes. Seeing as how that is one thing I cannot recall the last time he screwed that up. I agree with you but, given most anything they've tried backfires I can understand Nagy being a little gun-shy.
  21. Given you've got a QB who, earlier just dropped the ball, that's probably a legitimate concern. That wasn't a hand-off though. With the game in balance would you trust your mentally fragile, low football IQ OB to successfully execute anything?
  22. Watching his post-game presser right now. That is the first thing he was asked about (not trying to get more yards) and he was completely dismissive of the question. Did not want to risk a fumble. Given you've got a QB who, earlier just dropped the ball, that's probably a legitimate concern.
  23. Time for another player' only meeting? To say what? We're a bunch of fumbling, bumbling horsefeathering idiots with perhaps, the most useless QB in the NFL? How do you lose a game when your opponent literally does nothing? Ask the Bears.
  24. Sure would have been nice to actually have game tape of this guy in college before making the pick. Will Nagy have Trubisky on a short leash Sunday? If so, does he go with Daniels or Bray? I have to think if he doesn't show some success in the first or second offensive series the boos are going to cascade down.
  25. Oh, yessssss. That was hard to watch, it's almost obscene how open the receivers are, most especially Miller over the middle on third down. There's no one within three yards of him, that's an easy 1st down, probably another 10 or more on top.
