  1. No, part of Rodgers thing is no one even told him they were drafting Love, and people are contrasting that with the fact that Nagy called Dalton twice making GB look worse. I see what you mean. otoh, who looks worse, the Packers or Rodgers? or both? lol Tough call on who looks worse, I'll go with Rodgers. Do the Packers have to clear every draft pick with him? Who the horsefeathers does he think he is, the GM?
  2. Well, they managed to draft Fields, could it be, for the first time in Bears history, they got the fellow who'll turn out to be the best QB of the 2021 Draft? Someone the Bears maybe, not so much the Bears, but the fans and press can rub in the faces of the 49ers and Jets? That would be utterly shocking...
  3. After Trubisky, the red flag around the ability to quickly go through progressions must be the reddest of red flags for the Bears and especially Pace, no? So, given this, I guess the question is he capable of learning what Mitch never could? just because OSU's first read was open 85% of the time doesnt mean Fields cant read the coverage. He may be untested, but to write him off seems unfounded maybe Hence the question of whether he's capable or not and the only way to answer it is to draft him and give it a go. However, as has been mentioned the football gods have to smile on the Bears in a big way for Fields to even be a realistic possibility. And when have they smiled upon the Bears in recent memory or ever?
  4. I'm amazed at how Fields has fallen from clear #2 pick at the start of the college football season to fourth or fifth QB on the board. Wilson seems awesome, but he did it for one season against weak competition. Jones seems to have a limited ceiling compared to the other four in his athleticism, and also did it for one season with an NFL roster around him. Lance hasn't played since 2019 and started for one season, too. Fields has had some awful games, but he also balled out against Clemson after taking that big hit. If he fells to 13 somehow I would expect Pace to go up and get him. And I'd be hapy about it. Not sure what it would take to get there, maybe a 2nd and next years first? What is the biggest reservation people have with Fields? I've read something about how he went to his first option like 85% of the time last season or something so there were questions about his ability to go through progressions in the NFL when the defenses are faster and the first option isn't always open like at OSU, but that's about it. Athleticism, arm strength, accruacy all see 90+ percentile. There is discussion about social biases in place and its a fair discussion but anything else from a pure football standpoint that is giving these teams pause? After Trubisky, the red flag around the ability to quickly go through progressions must be the reddest of red flags for the Bears and especially Pace, no? So, given this, I guess the question is he capable of learning what Mitch never could?
  5. Adam Miller is transferring, one of the potential land spots being mentioned is Kentucky? Let's see if I've got it straight - Miller, basically a standstill spot up shooter, is leaving a program with quite probably the best PG in the conference and going to a program with multitudes of players of more ability than him? A program where there's an excellent chance he'll hardly see the floor, makes perfect sense.
  6. With Hader leading off there's a good chance are done with that POS today so, that's a good thing.
  7. If things don't soon change I have to think that's going to happen. replaced by whom? Guess there's no one, so, as suggested bury him deep in the order in the hopes he'll be mildly productive.
  8. If things don't soon change I have to think that's going to happen.
  9. At times, even in the last at bat, he looks as he's figured out the league is going down and away on strike 2 to him, takes the pitch. But, on the next such offering swings and doesn't even come close.
  10. That strike two pitch to KB, that was the one to hit.
  11. And gave up a legit hit, Happ hit that ball pretty hard.
  12. I remember a Mike Krukow complete game with only 64 pitches, with that last pitch, the least Woodruff can throw in a CG is 65 so, there's that...and Woodruff doesn't even come close to how dominant Kerry Wood was on that day in May against an infinitely better hitting team.
  13. Yes but, to appear so feeble and having absolutely no chance in every at bat? All 9 of them? And that's generously including Hendricks and Wolters. Tell me who's going to get a hit.
  14. Yes but, to appear so feeble and having absolutely no chance in every at bat? Hell, yesterday that [expletive] Peralta hung a few sliders that were swung and missed on or turned into weak grounders.
  15. Elevate? They can't even horsefeathering hit the ball.
  16. Yeah, but Schwarber has covid I'm not even suggesting Schwarber, I'm suggesting Ross and the Cubs not show that much patience and go with, someone, anyone who can make contact once in a while. At times K's aren't so bad but, there's also cases were it's helpful to put the ball in play which, apparently, Joc cannot do.
  17. Raise your hand if already had enough of Joc and his K's. Honestly, the Cubs might as well start any inning he's due to bat with an out, he's literally no chance out there, none whatsoever. I know its a bit rash but, horsefeathers it looks like the guy' never going to even put the ball in play.
  18. Lol Joc is better Really? If you look at the statistics they're almost identical in BA, OBP and SLG in fact, Schwarber' OPS is slightly higher.
  19. Can anyone explain replacing Schwarber with a worst version of him in Pederson? Will this [expletive] every get a hit as a Cub?
  20. Me neither, just don't get it, hopefully, Underwood has something in the works to replace him. Seriously, starting on a program back on the rise, would have had a great PG to set him up next season, what the horsefeathers else could he want? It doesn't make sense at all, unless like you said Underwood has something in the works. While its surprising, there's nothing the Illini got from Miller that they couldn't get from almost literally thousands of transfer candidates and as yet unsigned/uncommitted 2021 recruits. So. if I'm Underwood I'm fine, good luck, goodbye Adam, next.
  21. I don't get it, he was a starter and played 25-30 minutes per game. Curbelo was more the pure point guard, but Miller was the shooting guard poised to take over Ayo's shot volume most of all. Me neither, just don't get it, hopefully, Underwood has something in the works to replace him. Seriously, starting on a program back on the rise, would have had a great PG to set him up next season, what the horsefeathers else could he want?
  22. As usual, the takeaway from the NCAA tournament is "Man, the NCAA tournament is so random." and rarely "Man, the NCAA tournament really shows who the best teams are." Though there's a chance the best 2 teams do actually make the championship game this year, which has happened...maybe 4-5 times before? If the format was changed to double elimination would we see more of the better teams make it to the FF? Look at what Loyola did to the Illini, nearly perfect for one game would they be able to pull that off again in a best of 3 vs. the Illini? I have my doubts.
  23. It's one of those inexplicably lucky events that occur for a team like UCLA to make it to the FF. I'm certain not everyone of FT attempts were by shooters with good averages however, I did see plenty of misses by Michigan from shooters with good averages the other night.
  24. At least they got to Elite 8 and didn't crap the bed like the Illini. Yeah, yeah I know the Illini played an under-seeded team, which, quite probably played the collective game of their lives. But, I'm convinced with a few adjustments the Illini could have come back and won the game. Not understanding why they had Dickinson in bounding the ball instead of trying to run a play for him on that last possession. Of course, with the way the night was progressing for Michigan he'd probably drawn a foul and missed one or both of he FT's.
