  1. The holding on to the ball thing, Fields has got to know by now that's a bad idea with this line, just throw the horsefeathering ball away. Keep from getting hit and taking a sack.
  2. Regarding the C position there's no guy on the practice squad or even, off the streets they can sign? Too bad Kramer got hurt, would have been a big improvement over Mustipher.
  3. He had it, would have been 6.
  4. Think they had Kmet but, he was held.
  5. How was that not targeting? Literally speared him in the back.
  6. I've seen that on multiple occasions from him, really, there's no other C on the roster? And, how many yards was Fields out of bounds on that last play 5? Took a cheap shot.
  7. He talks about tiring of hearing we're so close but, makes bad play after bad play, the pass to Mooney was poorly thrown and that interception is on him. Had someone wide open.
  8. Appears to me that Rodgers is experiencing some of the same issues as our Justin Fields - shoddy pass blocking OL (they did OK vs Washington though), receivers getting open but unable to catch the ball - as a result he's not looking so MVP'ish. Can happen to anyone not just Bears' QB's.
  9. Belichick wants the Bears to keep Velus Jones as the punt returner, and why wouldn't he want them to be duped into thinking he's dangerous (to the opposition)? He's dropped what, 2 of 6, or so, punts? I'd say Belichick is thinking that's an easy TO, I do not believe the Bears are going comply, at least, not on Monday night. I'm guessing they might give him a shot their next game at an indoor facility, if at all.
  10. He was terrible, unfortunately aspect was, given the Bears razor thin margin for error, every mistake is magnified. Do not know of the politics involved with itemizing all of his mistakes. However, it's no secret he sucked. Now, on to benching Pettis and Mustipher.
  11. Maybe Fuller doesn't check the speed box for Poles? Don't believe he checks the size box. At this point Fields needs someone who can just catch the horsefeathering ball, screw size or speed.
  12. I've been thinking about this for a couple weeks now and I just don't get it. I'd certainly kick the tires on Fuller, dump one of Pettis and/or Smith-Marsette.
  13. I'll take that, really, given our expectations of Illinois' football it's been phenomenal, did not think much of DeVito but, he's actually a competent QB. I expected an improved D of course, not to this extent, and a good running game. The surprising aspect has been the play of DeVito and the WR's nobody, talks about Williams, Bryant and Hightower, watching them the first game of season I came away with who the hell are those guys and where the hell did they come from? Still, it wouldn't shock me one bit if the Illini are dogs on the road at Nebraska. Heck, they were nearly an opening 8 point dog, at home, to a team they were clearly superior to in Minnesota.
  14. He's got a pretty cool name; I'll give points for that.
  15. NFL trade deadline is fast approaching, who should the Bears trade for more draft capital? I'd be Ok with any or all of Quinn (has checked out and who can blame him), Montgomery (RB's are a dime a dozen, Herbert is more than adequate), Roquan Smith (Bears aren't going to pay him and they shouldn't, he's not what they want for the present defense scheme), who else? Eddie Jackson?
  16. I'd like to think attempts will be made to protect Fields in both personnel and scheme, do not know if anything will work. Will respect this coaching staff quite a bit more if they at least try to adjust and make improvements.
  17. A hard schedule that was supposed to be 2nd easiest, that ended up being harder because teams in a similar place (Giants, Jets, Falcons, Patriots) ended up much better than the Bears. Ultimately though, I do think some of those teams will come back down to Earth, and I expect the Bears to pick around 6-10. Yea I think some mean reversion will come a little, but the Bears also are burnt up their easy part of the schedule. If I was putting money it, I'd say 6-10 too, but top 5 is still in play. I believe there's a very high probability, certainly closer to 1.00 than, say, .5, the Bears will be picking top 5 in 2023.
  18. I have to think, after the bye week, there's got to someone else starting at C in New England. I do not know the size of the impact but, I suspect the C not getting blown up 9 out 10 plays will lead to a more positive result. If these coaches are a step up from the last, we'll see some changes, benching Pettis, Smith-Marsette and Mustipher are a few that quickly come to mind, I'd probably also, remove Jones Jr. as the punt returner.
  19. I wouldn't be so quick to brand them as bad, they still have Rodgers and, I'm certain the piss yellow and green pixie dust will work its magic and the OL will improve.
  20. Wait a second here, GB OL can't keep the Jets consistently off Aaron Rodgers and he's, gulp, struggling? WTF, he sucks, just Justin Fields, oh no wait, he's Aaron Rodgers and shouldn't matter if he's under constant pressure, right?
  21. You mean the PI on the pick? I thought it was a little soft but the right call. Bailed out a bad throw though. I’m not saying it was a bad call, just that those usually never go against BAMA. They did get a gift PI call leading to the score before they scored on the fumble. I get what you mean as far as calls against their defense.
  22. The Evil Empire goes down, very good, need someone else to knock them off. If the second loss is the SEC Championship Game I'm not so certain the selection committee still doesn't find a way for Alabama to make the playoff. So, that second loss has to occur before the SEC Championship Game.
  23. What a BS PI call for, of course, Saban and Alabama, at best should have been a no-call.
  24. Illini completely dominated, do not understand why Minnesota was a 4+ favorite on the road, but a convincing win, nonetheless.
