  1. Not sold on Blackwell, don't think he's worth the money. The staff is sold on him, so, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
  2. Have to give credit to Denver, outplayed by Michigan and Wisconsin yet, managed to win the Frozen Four. Their goalie was very good and they took advantage of a relatively few number of offensive possessions.
  3. Corrected - Besides Yelich, Turang and Conteras, it's bad on bad on bad on bad.
  4. This team will start to hit and when it does it's going of horsefeathers bury these Pirates, the Reds and the Cardinals. I'd like to include the Brewers but, it seems everything they touch turns to gold*. *I know it's the Brewers and all, still, taking a glance at their line up I don't know how they'll be able to maintain. Besides Yelich, Turang and Conteras, it's bad on bad on bad.
  5. Something's off for Bregman, don't give the Pirates' pitching an ounce of credit, he's too a good a hitter to be popping everything up.
  6. Illini get a commitment from Stefan Vaaks appears to be highly rated, had a multitude of good games last season. If they retain their core, like where it's headed for the Illini. Illinois, with Mirkovic, will have the Big Ten' unicorn next season, not Michigan, not Purdue, not Michigan State, Illinois.
  7. 100 EV for Suzuki and, of course, it's an out. If Pirate had it that ball, it's probably a HR.
  8. Sure, right now, however, the Pirates lineup is still awful and will regress. As will the Cubs, just going to take a while.
  9. Bregman 2R HR to put an end to this horsefeathers, how does that sound?
  10. Bulls chances of getting an additional 1st in the 15-18 range are looking good. Given AK' no longer making the picks, there's a chance 2 top twenty picks could materialize into something for them.
  11. I'm with you, although, not a visible as other sports, it's been a minute since the Big Ten won the Frozen Four. Badgers might as well make it a sweep of hockey to go along the sweep of basketball.
  12. Very good, thought Michigan was the better team, the clearly better team, that's what a hot goalie can do.
  13. While good for the Big Ten it would be as annoying as horsefeathers if Michigan also wins the Frozen Four. Don't know if the Badgers can get past North Dakota and, assuming Michigan beats Denver, Michigan.
  14. It's not even this, it's his inability to consistently execute his pitches, the stuff is there, the execution is not. As someone previously mentioned he is who is, he may find some consistent execution in spots but, will never maintain. He is not someone to be relied upon for effectiveness.
  15. I think stuffing the run would go a long way towards an improved Bears defense. Being unable to effectively stop the rush was the biggest problem. Teams being able to run set up everything and also kept the defense on the field for too long a time. Stop the run, the QB pressures and sacks will come.
  16. There was a bit on the Big Ten network in which they were discussing the Big Ten' recent dominance across the sports spectrum. Mentioned the possibility of more NC's in hockey, baseball and lacrosse (more so on the women' side). When they said baseball I immediately thought no horsefeathers way, not even a remote possibility. Forgot UCLA and traditional college baseball power USC are now members so, I guess baseball is a possibility.
  17. The hell you say, since he came up, I don't think there's been many or, if any, series in which the Cubs missed Skenes.
  18. Good points regarding the possibility of tried legs. Though, it did appear all teams had more trouble shooting on one side, think it would have been going left on the screen. Early in the game vs. Illinois Wagler drove to hoop and his jersey was very clearly grabbed, of course, no call. It chaps my ass the talking heads praising UConn for their "defense and physicality" on Keaton. No, they hacked the horsefeathers out of him and were allowed to because, the chicken-horsefeathers officials wouldn't make any calls.
  19. Don't discount Shota. Despite my hot take, he looked every bit of 2024 Shota his last start.
  20. Wonder if a different configuration will be tried for the next FF at Lucas Oil. There was obviously a problem with the shooting sight lines, one side of the court more so than the other. Playing these FF in non-basketball specific venues sucks. It's too bad the Bears don't have an indoor stadium. If I were Brad I'd make some sort of a deal to allow his team to shoot on portable hoops in some large non-basketball venue once or so a week.
  21. Agree most wholeheartedly, it's why Ohtani is ticking time bomb, only a matter of time until his arm blows up - again. Think the Cubs should put aside Horton as a starter?
  22. Ultimately, should Horton ever return, is his best role in the bullpen?
  23. I think many of us saw the writing on the wall with Horton. An injury waiting to happen, have take what you can get from him but, never count on his availability. It'll never be a thing with Horton, in fact, I make a prediction - he'll never pitch more than 150 innings in a season.
  24. Except for Buzelis that's true of every Karnisovas' pick. IMO even Buzelis doesn't really count, he fell into the Bulls' lap. They were completely prepared to draft another bust.
  25. What about last years' 1st rounder? Given he was picked by the former front office there's an excellent chance he's a bust. However, he was injured basically missing the whole season, he's probably worth a look to see what may be there. Scratch this, after a little research, I'd say he's not worth a look, best to let him go.
