  1. Game turned out to be meaningless, nevertheless, would have been nice to beat that beady-eyed meathead. Offense had some momentum, I definitely would have gone for it, never a good idea to gamble on this defense.
  2. I was going to post the same, took them 3+ plus quarters to score against that garbage.
  3. I call complete BS on this, sure, they'd probably lose but, the Bears OL >>>>>> Niners OL. The Bears would be more effective running the ball and Caleb won't be running scared all game.
  4. Without question the bug went around the defense, the Niners aren't speed merchants on offense and they looked super fast against the Bears. The Bears were a step or two slower than usual.
  5. I agree, in fact, from an IU standpoint, things get significantly tougher, Oregon, Miami and Ole Miss are far better teams than Alabama. All of them have a better balance on offense including one of the best RB in the country - Lacy and one the best WR - Toney, plus all the weapons on Oregon.
  6. Think people are going to be looking at Indiana - Oregon as the de facto National Championship game?
  7. I was thinking, if I had to chose between stuffing the run or rushing the passer, I'd go with stuffing the run. Rushing sets up everything for a successful offense, take away the rush and you'll get to the QB. In the off season, I'd rather they fix the run defense, do that and the other facets will improve.
  8. Pretty good win for the Illini, things are trending up the program.
  9. Sounds good to me.
  10. Because of Campbell running up the score on the Bears and Commanders, I posted my thought of him being a petty, vindictive meathead, I hope I'm wrong. I'd like to think coaches in his position don't go into any game looking to inflict as much damage as possible, that is beyond winning and losing, to a playoff bound team.
  11. I'll settle for forcing some field goals, I think it a realistic goal with this defense. Getting some stops just isn't a realistic goal with this bunch.
  12. I think he's a true system QB, Shanahan, along with a handful of others, represent the few systems in which he can excel. I think BJ and MLF are among the few who could probably find success with Purdy as well.
  13. Maybe, I think the Seahawks are going to lite up the scoreboard on them next week, may come down to who ever has the ball last wins. I also think Purdy will turn the ball over now and then.
  14. I came away thinking how great it is to have a QB, HC and offense that'll give them a chance in every close game. Remembering the dark days of Fields' largely pitiful attempts in close games and glad they're over.
  15. Add in a good portion of the team being sick, you could see it, especially on D. Granted the Bears D isn't good, still, last night, they looked a step slow vs. an offense without much speed. In relative terms, Purdy, Piersall and McCaffrey aren't fast yet, the Bears were several steps behind them all night. I'd like to see the Bears get another crack at them.
  16. And playing last night while very obviously ill.
  17. More concerned about Burden, from what I've, read doesn't sound too serious and may have been more a product of exhaustion from being one of the few non-sick receivers.
  18. I'm good with that, go with Bagent, he'll be able to move the ball and score points.
  19. Ignore that, in nearly every piece, he finds a way to make such a statement. He also thought the little engine that could had a chance against the Dodgers.
  20. I'm with a few here, thinking Bagent should get most of the snaps vs. the Lions, yes, there are benefits towards locking up the #2 seed. Campbell is also a petty, vindictive meathead, wouldn't put it past him tying to inflict some damage. Look at the evidence, runs up the score vs. the Bears in Detroit, ran up the score vs. the Commanders, he's not going to just set back and watch the playoff bound Bears beat his non-playoff team. Best thing to do is ignore Campbell and play the game like a pre-season game.
  21. Honestly, all it'll take is forcing some FG attempts. I think this Bears defense that isn't running in mud with several players sick could manage that. I hope the Bears catch them again in the playoffs.
  22. I asked the same question, think a run play could have worked. Didn't the Niners drop 8 in coverage with the snap?
  23. Not to mention the incessant blabbing about Purdy, Caleb made some throws that Purdy, on his best day, could only dream of making. The Bears are trending upwards, Caleb' getting better, soon, will be a top 5 QB and that horsefeathers huckster can't stand it. Next week will be even worse, most especially with Collinsworth' boy, Rodgers, possibly playing his last game. A playoff spot on the line, facing another black QB.
  24. I think you're right about that, plenty of them were playing with a bug, they seemed quite a bit slower than usual.
  25. Rome has been a disappointment, however, he's missed almost of a third of the season including the portion where the Bears offense is getting better. Maybe, it's a bit premature to write him off, let's see what he can do next year with an improved Caleb.
