  1. Heard some talk of there being run on the WR's leaving the best OL or DL prospects still available at 9 for the Bears. Guess I'd be okay with either but, it's too bad if none of Nabers or Odunze is available, maybe, reach a little with Thomas from LSU or Coleman from FSU? Either way, the focus of this off season must be on offense.
  2. With Shannon playing we'll see how much the Illni go with Rodgers, if they go with Harmon or Goode in place of Rodgers, Edey won''t be able to camp out in the paint, he may have to move. The Illini just might be one of the handful of teams that present match up problems for Purdue.
  3. Don't expect the Illini to beat Purdue however, I'd like to see them go after Edey. I feel if you can get him moving, because of his lack of quickness, you can get him in foul trouble. Wonder if Painter going to try Edey on Rodgers again, if so, I hope Rodgers goes after Edey. Sure, he'll block a few but, so what, you get him moving, he'll foul. This and shutdown Edey' supporting cast, let him get his but, don't let Smith etc. beat you. Take my chances with Edey' hook shots rather than give Smith and Loyer a bunch of open three's.
  4. Big win by the Illini at Madison today, only team to ever beat the Badgers at the Kohl Center four consecutive times. Thought the Illini had an excellent chance today, they're a terrible match up for Wisconsin, Badgers really have no answer for Shannon, Domask, Hawkins and, when he comes to play, Guerrier. Don't understand why the computers love Wisconsin so much, overrated, over achieved early in the season, Gard deserves a lot of credit for the coaching job he has thus done.
  5. I blame the length of time between the end of the Super Bowl and the draft, it's just too horsefeathers long, lending itself to this endless speculation, making up stories, looking for stories in anything or everywhere.
  6. I believe the primary focus the last two years has been on defense, that needs to be switched to offense this year. I'm hoping Poles will do everything he can to make sure his QB has the best chance at success. However, I don't trust him to realize he's got to hit the offense hard this off season.
  7. Haven't looked but, there's got to a be an OU on number of times the camera pans to Taylor Swift.
  8. Thought they were candidates for a large regression in '23, had numerous players, including Hurts, with career years in '22.
  9. Purdy didn't look good last week, missed open receivers, Goff looked better, maybe it was the conditions.
  10. The NFC Championship game is a fairly close realization of this: SF - great roster with not good enough QB vs. DET - good roster with a good QB, because Goff is better than Purdy, the Lions have a real chance. Also, don't understand the blind spot when it comes to Fields, sure about 10% percent of his problem has been bad supporting cast and coaching however, 90% is on him, He hasn't shown the ability to consistently execute, his third season and we're still seeing the same bad things from him.
  11. I'd like to see how they're getting so wide open, is there some picking and rubbing off of defenders going on?
  12. In the NFL the job is to win, if Williams is good and the Bears win, he can be the most aloof, biggest dick in the world. Results are the end all, be all, when players suck and teams lose then, all that other noise suddenly matters - he's a clubhouse cancer, he puts ketchup on hot dogs, etc.
  13. Nearly everyone realizes a good offense must be the focal point, I'm not confident Poles is aware. This years' draft it's pretty clear they should go QB and WR, I'm fairly confident he'll go QB , not so certain he won't trade down from 9 to take an edge rusher and another horsefeathers DB before he addresses WR.
  14. I'm still upset Harbaugh was passed on by the Bears, with the Bears nothing is certain however, I'm certain the Bears best chance at turning around is not Eberflus. Another example of winning taking a back seat to money, if McCaskey' truly cared about winning they'd put up with Harbaugh' nonsense long enough to right the team and build a base for continued winning.
  15. Packers are 9.5 - 10 underdogs vs the Niners how realistic are their chances? Believe many of us thought the Cowboys would easily prevail last weekend. I do not think the Niners are going to come at the Packers with a soft zone, I think they'll look to bump their receivers and try to dial up the pressure on Love. Cowboys have a better QB than the Niners but, the Niners have far more weapons on offense, it's not a simple as taking one away.
  16. Wasn't so much about the Rams, it was about Anzalone being cheap shot artist, I'm surprised he doesn't get flagged.
  17. https://twitter.com/CoachDanCasey/status/1746742495243813242 - Anzalone - this guy is a cheap shot artist, we saw him literally head hunting Fields, don't know how he hasn't been flagged several times.
  18. All this nonsense about the Bears "ruining" QB's is just that, the Bears didn't coach all Fields flaws. All they can be accused of is drafting highly flawed QB's, Fields, should he traded, will prove this point. I'm rooting for Justin but, wherever he ends up, the struggle will continue. If Williams has any confidence and balls at all, he'll want to be a Bear to throw all this horsefeathers back in the faces of the critics.
  19. You know stability, want to stick with same HC regardless of the lack of quality or ability at anything besides being terrible.
  20. It'll be interesting to see how Love does against a team that doesn't play a soft zone, first the Bears, tonight the Cowboys. There must be something DC's think a soft zone is going to do against Green Bay.
  21. I sincerely doubt the 49ers are going to leave their receivers uncovered as the Cowboys have tonight. Even Fields could look good tonight, I think.
  22. If the most Bears thing happens - they keep Justin and trade down, how does the offense succeed? I guess loading up on the OL is where Poles has to start. Trading down will probably facilitate focusing on the OL and taking a WR. But, then working around the slow drop back, the slow release, holding on to ball too long, inconsistencies with reading a zone or making hot reads vs. a blitz, these deficiencies really limit an OC. Maybe there's someone who can convince Justin to trust what he sees and let it rip that would help.
  23. I find it hard to believe Izzo tried the big man on Rodgers approach yesterday. Rodgers ate Sissoko up, wasn't even close, 6-9 is not 7-4 Tom, don't know how he thought an emulation of what Purdue did was going to work. Post game Underwood mentioned several players were coming off illness, because of illness they had to cancel a couple of practices, in this light the win last night was very impressive. Add to this the desperation of MSU, they wanted it badly, you see it in their play, and the Illini came away with the win.
  24. I don't get all this there aren't OC's who be interested in the Bears horsefeathers. It's just useless doom boner horsefeathers. What potential OC wouldn't want to work with the #1 pick or be the coach who found a way to tap into Fields?
  25. It wasn't all Getsy, he certainly was a problem, but, it's mainly on Fields. I guess we are only able to hope that the Bears' recognizing the badness of Getsy also means they are able to see the flaws in Fields.
