  1. I really like to try someone else as the closer, Alzolay hangs too may sliders.
  2. It's not surprising they lost tonight, kind of thought they would. I'm glad, I'd much rather watch the Heat get smoked by the Celtics than the Bulls.
  3. Watched some of highlights from their last game of the season, Reichel didn't look broken. In fact, looked pretty smooth scoring the first goal of game. Appears there was a slight improvement since he was called back up .2 pts/gm -> .6 pts/gm, don't know if means much for the future or if he'll ever become a good player at least, there was some improvement.
  4. Okay, makes sense, want be with one's girl friend and all, the other stuff, Mayer vibes, is also a factor.
  5. AJ Storr headed to Kansas, no surprise, leave it to Dollar Bill to meet his asking price. Although the Illini were finalists, Storr was giving me some Matthew Mayer like vibes, while his skill set and talent will be hard to replace don't believe Gard was too broken up about him moving on. Nor do I think Underwood is hurting about him committing to Kansas.
  6. Getting swept in Miami, losing all by a run was super annoying, Marlins were an unsustainable 33-14 in 1-run games last year. They were baseball' version of the 2022-23 Vikings.
  7. While the Marlins get a run in some bizarre way probably involving the ball not getting out of the infield.
  8. Marlins are terrible, still don't know how they made the playoffs last season, definitely one of the worst playoff teams in recent memory. Yet, the Cubs keep losing to them, no Soler, no Burger (IL), I think it's safe to say their lineup has not improved.
  9. Anyone else feel like this play-in for Bulls is an exercise in futility? Honestly I rather they lose and get to the make-excuses for-rationalizing-rolling it back-offseason.
  10. I'm glad the Cubs were able to pin the loss on Pfaadt although he didn't pitch so badly. Don't know what it is about this guy, the rest of baseball lights him up but, the Cubs can't do much against him.
  11. They hit Pfaadt pretty hard in his first start vs. the Cubs, 3 HR's, in a 5-2 victory, second start he threw 5+ shutout innings for one of his 3 victories on the season. Given how the rest of the league has pummeled him, I think that second start was more of an outlier than the norm, believe the Cubs will get to him.
  12. I don't see the point of giving Hendricks anymore starts, he's the primary reason the pen is overworked. Just cannot continue to trot him out there knowing you'll have to pull him after 4 innings quite probably down multiple runs. He's cooked, he's toast, he's done, I would argue that even when he does hit his spots, it doesn't matter because of the lack of stuff. Everything he throws, no matter where it is, is extraordinarily hit-able.
  13. If pressed into action I think one of Scott or Pettis could be OK. There should be an improvement at QB which will help with one of them being effective. That's not to say the Bears shouldn't look to improve the depth at WR even with one of Nabers or Odunze in hand.
  14. Poles realizes one one of the big WR's is potentially one of difference making players a team needs, he's not going to trade down for trading down' sake.
  15. Yes, if that pick is Nabers or Odunze, the Bears could finally have a legit NFL offense. If Williams just manages to be average, which I think he'll be, in his first season, we can wave bye, bye to struggling to score a first half TD. Or games where 200+ passing yards seem like an outlier.
  16. If one the big WR's is there at 9 I believe the Bears will keep the pick, taking a WR, otherwise, trade down.
  17. Seriously you know are done when poor hitter like Profar is 3-3, all of them rockets, against you.
  18. Mop up, either the Cubs are way ahead or way down, you can't bring him in for any high leverage situations, he's got no chance.
  19. The fearsome trio of Profar, Kim and Campusano are 5-5 thus far, yeah, Hendricks is cooked. Can't keep giving him starts, you're guaranteed to be down multiple runs when he' on the mound.
  20. Make sense, the three C's were developed in the Pacific Northwest.
  21. Trying to be diplomatic? I agree though, they're a significant downgrade from the Dodgers.
  22. The Padres are a slight downgrade from the Rangers and Dodgers, it'd be great if he could make through the twice with minimal damage. I've my doubts, I to believe Hendricks is cooked nevertheless, its baseball, so most anything could happen.
  23. Never been the West Coast, I've heard that San Diego is a destination for West Coast IPA's? Might pair well with BBQ.
