  1. Megill and Hudson are both over performing, at some point there will be a regression hopefully, when it hurts the Brewers the most. Plus, I like the upside of Hodge, Little, Brown and Wesneski they all have better or comparable stuff than Megill and Hudson, their ceilings are higher.
  2. I'd say Brown >>> Peralta, believe the Brewers didn't have to many competitive at-bats vs. Brown.
  3. We rightfully bitched and moaned about the Cubs being blown away by whomever' pitching. But, tonight, for a refreshing change, it was the opposition who, for the most part, was blown away by the Cubs pitching.
  4. Who couldn't see that coming from a thousand miles away? Bullpen follows through with the scheduled blown save, so horsefeathers predictable and pathetic.
  5. Brewers 1-5, 0-7, 3 K's and have not come remotely close to anything - okay last Yelich at-bat they came close
  6. When literally no one on the roster is hitting I don't think there's much Counsell can do with lineup construction.
  7. If Morel puts the ball in play I'll count it as a step in right direction. Or a BB? I'll take it..
  8. I reiterate Brewers haven't come close and it's a beautiful thing when the opposition is being blown away.
  9. To fair Brewers' at-bats have been non-competitive as well.
  10. That Bellinger at bat tells me they're grinding the wood out of their bats, trying too hard to make something happen. Baseball seems to be one of the few things where trying too hard can possibly make things worse. Something positive has to happen for this to turn around, maybe a two out bases loaded hit, something.
  11. Dodgers at Mets, tied, bottom of the 9th, one-out, Mets load the bases, get up on the count 3-1 and, of course, the Mets Cub their way into not scoring.
  12. Thought about that as I was typing, you're correct, he's no big loss on release.
  13. Morel needs to sit for a while, he's not even coming close.
  14. That was an almost certain DP Madrigal booted, if he's not going to hit, he's a waste of a roster spot. Does he have any options left?
  15. What do you know, the opposition is also capable of popping the ball up with RISP, thought that was solely a Cubs' thing.
  16. If regression to the mean implies anything there should be a big power/run scoring surge for a sustained period soon. Why not start today?
  17. I want some more popping up and weak grounders off hanging breaking pitches and average fastballs please.
  18. Mikolas is certainly a step down from Sale, Jones, Skenes, Darvish, et. al. maybe, the Cubs actually hit tonight.
  19. They're not hitting mistakes, it's frustrating but, at some point it's going to turn around. Plus, they're not going to be facing this absolute gauntlet of starting pitching, that's going to even out as well.
  20. Didn't understand letting him pitch in a one run game, he's solely a mop up guy.
  21. Lopez and Sale going today for the Braves in day-night DH, at least they're removed as possibilities for the upcoming Braves series. This has got to be good thing right? And the Padres are up, into the Braves bullpen. Would love to see a team besides the Cubs have to burn through their bullpen prior a series.
  22. In regards to the conference finals I was thinking Edmonton/Dallas would be more entertaining than Vancouver/Dallas. I just chose to root for the Canucks.
  23. My head tells me Edmonton will win tonight, they are the better team and series should have never gone 7. Nevertheless, I'd still like to see the Canucks win tonight.
  24. Doesn't appear Vazquez is much of an upgrade, if at all, with the bat over Mastrobuoni. Definitely an upgrade with the glove and maybe, with Hoerner theoretically returning, that's more important.
  25. Keller is good, he's not this good, having, what, 4 automatic outs, in the lineup has gone a long way towards making him look so effective today.
