  1. Brady, Monken, Coen
  2. Excellent, that's one less mistake Poles could make, of course, plenty of mistakes - Flores, Weaver, Kafka - remain.
  3. Yes, starting with the draft, Poles will be position to draft Campbell (LSU) or Banks Jr. (Texas) he won't take either. Instead he'll draft Simmons (OSU) who had season ending knee surgery in October. And of course, Simmons will have some problems with recovery, or will re-injury the knee in OTA's or some stupid horsefeathers, basically, because of injury, he'll be ineffective.
  4. Every year, no matter how good his teams are, they'll have bad losses to garbage teams like USC.
  5. A terrible loss to a lesser team than Penn State, 7-31 from three is what doomed them. Next is the toughest road trip of season @Indiana, @MSU, hopefully, they'll regress to the mean with the three ball in those games.
  6. This off season, without question, he's got to do both. Well, that is, if he's truly committed to improving the trenches.
  7. Agree, your OL is dominating the line of scrimmage why stop running the ball?
  8. I thought the same, never been that impressed with Allar. Sure, he feasts on lower tier teams but, when push comes to shove against quality opponents he mostly comes up empty.
  9. I thought he played pretty well, didn't force anything, made some good passes. It was great to see that 3 go in for him late in the game. I believe it's an adjustment period for him and he'll get it going soon. Also, the flop by Baldwin, he basically took himself out of the game, don't how smart of a play that was, turned out good for the Illini.
  10. Why should Poles have job security? I wanted him fired, in lieu of that, I do not see the issue with making Poles prove he can get it right. This whole lame duck GM thing is bit overblown by the media, while it may mean something to prospective head coaches, I do not believe it's the be all, end all. If the eventual head coach comes in and starts winning it will be mostly due to Poles fixing the roster. Given this, the GM situation will effectively fix itself in that Poles will be extended or re-signed.
  11. Assumption on my part, your probably correct and Kingsburry doesn't interview at all. In this case, with a fixed roster, the Bears will competitive with any of Johnson, Brady, Monken or McCarthy.
  12. It boils down to the trenches, if Poles successfully addresses them, most especially the OL. They'll be competitive with any of Johnson, Brady, Kingsburry, Monken or even McCarthy. Coaching matters but, it's still more about Poles ability to fix the roster for me, that's the primary concern.
  13. We know whatever decision the Bears make will be wrong. What if it is Ben Johnson? Is that wrong by default?
  14. Don't trust him to get it right in any phase, I'm certain we'll see more of the same nonsense.
  15. Hell, putting together a decent OL goes a long way towards respectability. It's doable, for most any GM, well, average GM, which Poles can't even manage.
  16. Did a comparison between Dexter and Carter, stats wise, there's nothing to suggest Carter' appreciably better than Dexter. Get another guy who can get to the QB and we'll see Dexter have a larger impact. My guess is a less than healthy Sweat allowed teams to double up on Dexter for most of the season.
  17. Most anybody can see that, how come someone like McCaskey and, I guess, Warren cannot? There's absolutely no empirical evidence for keeping Poles, none.
  18. Definitely, and great choices at that, we'll see how fares when he loses one or both of them.
  19. I believe he's nothing more than a glorified meathead who's propped up by excellent assistance coaches.
  20. Other than Caleb, the punt return was my favorite play of the season. After the Packers won in Chicago they were ready to anoint their special teams coach as the greatest ever. Some kind of a special teams whisperer because he had the "foresight" to predict a blocked kick on a noodle legged kicker who has to kick a line drive on long attempts. Just hilarious the Bears were able to fool them so badly, was Blackwell even touched?
  21. I don't believe so, the dude's an injury waiting to happen. He can barely finish a game, don't know how the Bears can be blamed.
  22. Why wouldn't it be a cheap incentive laden contract? I'd offer him a one-year prove it deal. With his lack of availability, I don't believe he'll get a multi-year guaranteed money offer on the open market.
  23. Honestly, Rome Odunze' earlier sideline catch has been better than anything Mr. Greatest WR Jefferson has done tonight.
  24. That was always there, wouldn't be surprised if the Rams take care of them next week.
  25. They just scored again, WTF all world greatest ever Justin Jefferson? Can't get open against a JV secondary? And here I thought the Vikings would light up the scoreboard.
