  1. QB and coaching go hand-in-hand, ****** QB + good coaching = mediocre/crappy, good QB + ****** coaching = mediocre/crappy , only good QB + good coaching = stellar results, we saw this play out with the Vikings. While being a draft bust, I don't think Darnold was a ****** QB, prior to the Vikings he was certainly subject to a good deal of ****** coaching.
  2. I agree on Josh Sweat barring that a guy like Young will draw enough attention. To allow for a step ups in production from Marcus Sweat and Dexter.
  3. I think Poles will correctly kick the tires on a deal for Garrett but, that's as far as it'll progress. Read in a few places Young and Davenport might be inclined to follow Allen to the Bears. Davenport, coming off an injury, should be fairly cheap.
  4. Hard, hard pass on Myles Garrett, would cost way too many resources that are needed in building the OL. Besides, I believe the defense can helped just as much by signing Josh Sweat or Chase Young and Marcus Davenport along with a day 2 DL pick.
  5. Can't un-see that
  6. Very good, guess I should have worded it differently, oh well.
  7. Great effort and I know exactly how you feel. Whilst not the same sport, I play lacrosse in an old man's league, games are on Sunday mornings, 7:55 AM plus, I'm literally the oldest guy out there. For added fun the facility is dimly lit, balls are yellow and quickly get dirty from the old turf. Making them, for me, very hard to see, the only saving grace is I'm not in goal. However, I miss nearly every feed to me on attack, which frustrates the hell out of me because, I usually have a good stick.
  8. Factor in the numerous times he left games and yeah, 62% appears to be a more realistic estimate. I’ve no problem with Jenkins moving on, he’s not going to morph into an Ironman for his next team.
  9. Is it possible there really is no market for Bregman and Boras is trying, with well placed rumors, to create one?
  10. Preller can just move on down the line, appears the Cubs may have told him so, because, now, there's speculation about the Mets being involved.
  11. I don't believe they're going to get the equivalent from the Mets, if they wish to trade Cease the asking price has to be reasonable.
  12. I’d definitely offer him an incentive laden one year prove it contract. I’m also wondering if the numerous times he left games was slightly a function of a spineless HC.
  13. Shaw or no Shaw, etc. all of this is going to rendered moot when the horsefeathers Dodgers trade for Cease. Only a matter of time.
  14. Believe you said hockey is your life earlier? If so, I've a question, the Donato goal, do you think the initial shot was a miss by design? Sometimes it appears to me, like last night, the initial shooter will miss looking to get the goaltender moving and the bounce off the boards. Trailer shooter, takes the bounce and has an open net. I know it doesn't always work but, at times, it appears to be a designed play.
  15. Got to put up with this BS for 8+ months and it's going to suck. I truly believe the Bears finally have the coaching in place that's going to allow Caleb to cook in 2025. Come November, Caleb will be far outpacing Nix and Maye, along with a regressing Daniels.
  16. Yeah, don't get the constant griping about Carter, Wright and Dexter are draft hits for Poles. And, in net, far outweigh just Carter.
  17. Dexter will probably never be as good as Carter however, he's not bad by any means, nor is a significantly less player than Carter. He's one of Poles' draft hits, put another guy who's a pass rushing threat next to him and we'll see an even greater impact. Read a piece about Chase Young possibly following Dennis Allen to the Bears, I'd be okay with a short term contract for Young. He flamed out in Washington and San Fransisco, Allen got him to play a higher level in New Orleans. Think he could make a positive impact for the Bears.
  18. I say that because the Bears need multiple bodies. Tying up so much in one player may limit the number of players that can be signed. In any case, without question, all of the money needs to spent.
  19. I see there’s an injury history and he did play well for most of 2023. You may be correct about the Nate Davis vibes maybe, Poles should stay away.
  20. FA - instead of breaking the bank for Trey Smith, how about targeting Becton, Jr - Eagles and Dalman - Falcons? Going this route may allow for taking Jeanty at 10 or trading down.
  21. There’s a start towards taking Chiefs down, capitalize by scoring a TD
  22. They did what the Bears should have done, invest in the trenches and tailor the offense to the QB’s strengths. I believe the Bears will follow this blueprint in 2025, which gives me hope Caleb’ going to blow up next season.
  23. Design an offensive around Caleb’ strengths thereby putting him in a position to succeed. Who would have thought the Bears capable of such an approach? Goodness this franchise,
  24. Don't have a problem with this at all, nothing wrong with making Poles earn an extension.
  25. Say the Bears go OL with the 10th pick, think there a scenario were they draft Henderson on day 2/3 and go predominately with a Henderson/Roschon tandem at RB?
