  1. Until Shaw returns Berti might be the best option, believe the Cubs can be reasonably confident he'll make all the plays he should. Which is all the Cubs need at the moment.
  2. Watched the condensed game, Workman' been brutal with the glove. First whiff I can give him a pass on, second whiff is absolutely a play that should have been made. Nevertheless, Tucker is the least talked about best player in the MLB and PCA? He's morphing into a star before our eyes. Locking up Tucker and PCA could go a long ways towards the Cubs ruling the Central for a while - that means more money Tom! A hot Happ plus Tucker and Seiya followed by an improving Busch that's a pretty decent first four on par with most any lineup in baseball. The Dodgers are just not other worldly, maybe, they've yet to hit their stride and will prove to be. Continually playing the Padres, Diamondbacks and Dodgers has afforded us a good look at these teams. The Padres are certainly better than the Dodgers arguments could made the Diamondbacks are the better of the Dodgers as well. In any case it's awesome to see the Cubs taking it to the Dodgers, Ohtani with a hat trick of K's is the cherry on top.
  3. Every horsefeathers time, as I said I don't recall a recent Pirates series where they haven't drawn Skenes.
  4. Agreed, regarding the Pirates, since he's come up when haven't the Cubs drawn Skenes?
  5. I'll be glad when the Cubs are done with the Dodgers in the regular season this week. I'm so horsefeathers sick of the Dodgers, Padres and Diamondbacks, they can all go bye-bye.
  6. Will Turner at 3B be in the lineup today? He has good career numbers vs. Kelly, might be worth trying to get some offense from 3B. Maybe give him a couple of AB's?
  7. Really enjoyed watching the Dodgers "infallible" bullpen cough one up last night. Raise you hand if you love seeing bad things happen to the Dodgers.
  8. Gotten to Gallen twice this season, about time they get to Kelly.
  9. That statistic they showed about the Diamondbacks scoring 27 runs in the 8th inning is so skewed. 18 of those 27 runs have been scored against the Cubs. Given they're done with the Cubs in the regular season after Sunday, I wouldn't put much stock in them being 8th inning comeback wiz-kids.
  10. Re-watched the top of the eight, besides the GS an awful lot of luck went the Diamondbacks way. If Hodge doesn't deflect Perdomo' GB Hoerner has it for the third out. Then, of course, there's Grichuk' "double" which really was an error although, since Workman never got a glove on it, I doubt it'll scored as an error. But, in all practicality it was an error. The GS should have been it and the Cubs would have won 7-5. Dipshit AZ announcers cackling, "...some years just have that special vibe and so far, 2025 is one of them...", , yeah, for the Cubs!!!!
  11. To my credit I did turn off the game thinking they gotten to Jarvis before, maybe they'll make it close. That's a a ball busting way to lose a game for those jagoff Diamondbacks - good. About time those MF'ers got a taste of their own medicine.
  12. Hell yeah!!!!! I honestly turned the TV off and stuffed my face with Chinese food, would have loved to hear those dipshit Arizona announcers call of that, they we're putting that one up in the W column. Creaming in their collective pants about the Diamondbacks supposed 8th inning magic when, really it's facing the joke known as the Cubs bullpen.
  13. It's even worse with the national broadcast being these dipshit Arizona announcers.
  14. I looked up his statistics, larger samples suggests he's closer to a replacement level player than an above replacement player.
  15. What is it with that horsefeathers catcher and that shity ass SS? Holy horsefeathers do the Cubs make below average hitters look great.
  16. I'd be OK with Warren or Loveland at #10, as stated above, the Bears need impact offensive players regardless of the position.
  17. Poles has said something to the extent of there not being much difference between the player available at 10 and those later in the first round. I would think trading up is not a possibility, trading down, most especially if say, Jeanty, Warren and Campbell are gone, is a real possibility.
  18. Or that horsefeathers catcher, Moreno, he's good, but, he's not that good.
  19. Why is it that most any other team in baseball can a find multiple guys with plus stuff who can throw strikes except the Cubs?
  20. Riley might not be a bad choice, he's a lengthy project and the Bulls have the time, he's certainly a better option then yet another tweener who can't shoot.
  21. Little was wild, I'd still like him over, say, a Morgan spinning his soft junk to hitters. At least, with Little, if he's on, which is a big if, the hitters really don't have much of a chance. Can't say that about someone like Morgan who could be hitting his spots and still get crushed.
  22. After that exercise in futility yesterday, here we are, assuming the Bulls will pick around 12. Last year Buzelis was luck and a gift, don't expect that to happen again. Given what we've seen what Terry-Phillips-Williams type will there to be drafted by the Bulls? And, wouldn't you know it, I've seen some mocks having the Bulls at 13 picking Collin Murray-Boyles who's scouting report reads like a clone of Terry-Phillips-Williams - athletic, good defensive footwork, tweener who can't shoot.
