    I know they're doing work on the brown line too so they are closing certain stations one by one. Not sure if Belmont or Diversey is one of them, but I'd find that out before I took that trip.

    Give him a week and he'll completely contradict everything he said today. A couple weeks ago I believe he said Lee probably won't even be the best first basemen in Chicago, and two days ago he said Lee is the best player in baseball and told Pujols and ARod to prove him wrong.

    Depends on when you come down for class. If it's a day class, all of the residents cars are gone from Fullerton because many of them drive to work. Night class is a different story, but that's when you start to look on the sidestreets near Sanctuary and all those buildings because most the commuters are usually home by then. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. Best place I've found is the group of spots just south of the Athletic Center on Belden. People think it's permit parking, and they also think you can't park under the el. You can usually find one or two good spots there.

    Best line: "Wrigley is rockin'" That was an understatement. It wasn't as loud as the Kerry Wood home run in the NLCS, but it was louder than any regular season game I've ever been to.

    DLee's just coming into his own in this league. I think his early career numbers are behind him. Look at the adjustments he's made between then and now. He's not even close to the same player he was. I'm really glad this deal is done. And to be honest, I thought it was going to cost the Cubs a lot more than that.

    I say let the sportswriters keep doubting this team. For one, it puts less pressure on the guys to perform. Afterall, we all know how they handled the pressure to win in 2004. And it also gives the Cubs the underdog feel to them. I think this team plays better when no one thinks they can win, and they have something to prove. Never, ever, ever watch Around the Horn. Any show that would willingly give Mariotti a spot is not worthy of television. PTI is alright sometimes, but yeah, I don't take any of their opinions seriously.

    No lot, but it's a lot easier to find parking, and it's like a 4 minute train ride straight to the stadium. Don't be confused though, parking still isn't guaranteed. You'll probably have to drive around the block once or twice if you're getting there late. I lived on Fullerton right by the el for five years, so I know the best places to look for spots when I go. That's why I always park there. And Vance, you're probably better off walking, or just spending the two bucks on a cab. You're really not very far at all, so I say just take the walk.

    I always just park at Fullerton and hop right on the red line. For being only a mile away from the stadium, you can usually find a spot right off the train. Or if you're feeling crazy, it's a $4.50 cab ride from there to the stadium.

    http://www.stubbyglove.com/ I was in section 218, and amazingly, it wasn't cold at all. We were covered from the wind, so that might have played a huge factor in it. But I thought it was perfect weather. Now those of you in the bleachers probably have a different story to tell...

    That was my guess too. I've known tons of athletes that use make sure to do that before they compete.... including me. Not in the third inning or anything, but I make sure I'm light on my feet when it's go time.

    I'm not 1-0 in attendance at games this year. What an awesome game. Stadium was rocking when Barrett ripped into that one. Got to see Rex Grossman a bunch of times too. He kept walking by right above us. He waved to the crowd everytime and stopped to yell "Go Cubbies" once. Awesome awesome game.

    Eh, if he didn't want us to make fun of him, he should shut his mouth about one of the only real baseball stadiums left. Oh, and maybe stop slowing down on fly balls just so he can make the highlight reel.

    Not sure if this was posted anywhere yet, or if this belongs in transactions, so mods please do what you need to. He said if his contract isn't extended by Saturday, he's putting off talks until the end of the season. It would be a tremendous mistake to not lock him up immediately. Give Derrek Lee whatever he wants, and do it now. Who knows what could happen between now and the end of the season, lock him up now. Don't give him the option of leaving.

    Yeah, for it to be worth it, you have to get there early, and know which spots are best. Otherwise you're probably just better off going to one of the bars across the street to see the game on the big screens.

    Ding ding ding ding. Yeah, Barrett had a bad game, but given the fact that he didn't have the luxury of all of spring training to work with this staff, I think you can cut him a little slack. And the way Williams pitches, I wouldn't be surprised if that passed ball was nowhere near where Barrett called for. I only saw the gamecast though since I was at work. Barrett is no gold glover, but out of all the NL catchers right now, he's the one I'd want on my team.

    I think this year will be a tough year for the Cubs in the media. With the White Sox winning it all last year, there is going to be a lot more Sox articles than we're used to. But I've always like the Sun Times better. Just seems like a better paper to me. It's all a matter of personal preference. The one thing you have to get used to in the Sun Times is the amount of columnists that are clearly Sox fans. There are a lot of snide comments (or flat out mockery) about the Cubs and their fans. And of course, you'll have to put up with Jay Mariotti. But if you have a bird, his columns make for a great liner for their cages.

    The only change to Wrigley I'd really like to see and think would look cool would be to add ivy to the outside of the stadium. Might not be feasible given the amount of drunks walking around down there on any given night though.

    My job doesn't allow me to even watch on the internet. (Stupid Websense... I hope that company goes under) Plus we have roughly 20-25 tv's hanging in our office, but they all have to be turned to cnbc. It's such a tease knowing all I would have to do is change the channel, but I'd like to keep my job.

    Walked by it last night. Looks like the bulk of the work is done, but now all the little things need to be finished up. I walked by it pretty late, and there were still a lot of guys in there working. Mostly cleaning up. They were powerwashing the sidewalk over by the Harry Carey statue, and sweeping up under the new bleachers. They still have some work to do, but I think it'll be ready in time for the most part. It's still really cool that they have the gate in the right field wall open. You can see right into the stadium from Sheffield.

    They could demand that the Trib change it, but the Trib wouldn't have to do it. The stadium was named after a person, not a company. Just because Wrigley is now a corporation doesn't mean they can change anything that says Wrigley just because they don't like it. The only person who would have any sort of real beef with getting Wrigley taken off the stadium would be Mr. Wrigley himself.
