  1. at least against Mexico he is. Does anyone else find that weird? I know the line up is stacked, but Lee won the batting title, and he hit 46 home runs last year. It probably doesn't matter in that line up, but 6th seems kind of low for him coming off the year he had.
  2. Not sure if it's been posted yet, but on the front page of ESPN.com, there's a poll: Just found it interesting that it'd even be a poll question right now.
  3. TROGDOR!!! Burninating the countryside...
  4. I'm in as Special Sauce
  5. Ah, thanks. I was wondering if someone was going to put a bracket together this year.
  6. I live in Chicago. When strange people ask for rides at 4 in the morning, you push the peddle to the floor or wind up on the news.
  7. I like the pinstripes. The greys are just horrible. They look like they're wearing little kids PJ's out there. I like the blues. Navy wouldn't be bad, only problem is, the Cubs primary color is royal blue. Actually, I believe the name of the color has been changed to Cubbie blue. If the Cubs primary color is blue, I think they should have at least one uniform that is blue. Great pictures though. Zambrano looks weird in pinstripes, but it's good to see someone layin down a bunt for a change.
  8. Oh, with the group we've got going, noise definitely won't be a problem. Some of the best and most passionate Cub fans I've ever seen. We've done this for the past few years, and we make sure the Cubs players know they have fans who made the trip to Wrigley Field North. It's great that we all have seats in the same section too.
  9. The good news is, both arms are indeed attached to his body.
  10. I already have tickets to that series. We got in on the group sales, and got 45 tickets. We're packing a couple buses with Cub fan friends of ours, and we're taking over a section of the stadium again. Anyone that has the opportunity to go to a game in Milwaukee against the Cubs... it's worth it.
  11. I had the window open all day at work... no luck. The guy next to me... got through 7 times. He has tickets to seven different series. My only bright spot was another guy I work with got in twice, but only wanted one game. So he bought me four tix for the Cards games on April 9th. Section 218, row 17 I believe. Not exactly opening day, but it'll do.
  12. Eh, he's got some time to drop that weight. But he should've done that before he reported for camp.
  13. I see what you're saying. Duke always does have great players on their bench that never even see the court. But that's not Duke's fault. It actually is kind of the kids' fault. They're the ones that pick the school they go to, and they're the ones that know how Coach K handles subs. But even if he only uses 7 guys from his roster every year, he has to be doing something right because Duke ALWAYS fields a highly competitive team.
  14. So wait, I don't get it. You're blaming Duke for going out and getting good players?
  15. Of course right when I say Wisconsin isn't a top ten team, they happen to be beating up on the #6 ranked team. Still early though.
  16. Okay, now you're just putting words in my mouth. One question, do you think the BCS is a fair system? Cause if you do, then there's no point even going on in this.
  17. Statistics are the same as rankings? Wow, my dictionary must be way off.
  18. So because they use it to determine the field, that makes it more accurate? That would mean that a team's last ten games should determine their ranking. And it also should mean that Wisconsin is the 8th best team in the country.
  19. Apples and oranges. Statistics are not the same thing as rankings. A lot of guys had more wins than Roger Clemens last year, but how many would you rank ahead of him as being a better pitcher?
  20. RPI is probably one of the smallest of the factors considered when selecting teams. They look at how you've done over your last ten games, quality wins, quality losses, etc.
  21. I look at it this way - if RPI was more effective than the polls, then that's how teams would be ranked. That's what would be in the papers and all over ESPN.
  22. From College RPI.com
  23. You're right though, the polls have their faults too. There is a lot of bias toward the powerhouse schools. And mid majors get the short end of the stick more often than not.
  24. Because I don't trust a machine that uses mathematical formulas to determine a game that is based completely on human actions. RPI doesn't take into account margin of victory or any of that. If a team loses on a last second miracle full court shot to the number 1 team in the country, it counts the same as losing to the worst team in the country by 50. Where as a human would take that into account, and rank accordingly.
  25. Yeah, Big Ten teams have mastered the art of using the home court advantage. It's getting insane.
