  1. I think it might help him in terms of his development. He doesn't need the numbers. Another year of experience might do him good.
  2. Which is very likely somewhere in the second round, if not early third. I think he'd be fighting Ainge (and probably one or two others, not sure about next year's QB class) for the first QB taken if he left next year. Brohm, Henne, and I think Booty if he's eligible.
  3. Why do you have to act so smug? I don't understand how that is acting smug. Please explain. Nowhere did I say the Saints would win or the Bears would lose. Nor did I say one bad thing about the Bears or a good thing about the Saints. I was simply stating that IF the Bears lose, some of you might not be too pleased with those of us rooting for the Saints celebrating. I do not see how that is smug in any way. I happen to think the Saints will win but am in no way guaranteeing a victory. That's what I took offense to. The fact that you assumed Bear fans are all a bunch of jerks that will attack an opposing fan.
  4. And according to WGN's sportscast that was just on tv, Colt Brennan has officially declared.
  5. I don't think so. He did today. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2732041
  6. That's pretty much what I'm thinking too. No way would I want to face off against Belichek in a Super Bowl, especially since it would become a huge revenge game for New England, in addition to being a Super Bowl which they've never lost. I'd gladly take the Colts and Peyton over all that nasty synergy. The Patriots have lost at least one Super Bowl that I know of.... January 26, 1986. Bears 46 - Patriots 10. :D (I know you're probably just referring to Brady and Belichick, but I had to bring it up)
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs06/news/story?id=2731727 Despite how he reacted, LT is still a classy guy in my opinion. And I'm pretty sure Shaun Phillips might end up in jail the next time they play.
  8. Yeah, I couldn't get excited about that punt return because I saw the block in the back that freed him, and the flag that followed. You say Hester is the one thing that scares you, I say Brees is the one thing that really scares me. It's a shame he didn't get more consideration for MVP. I know LT deserved it, but it shouldn't have been the landslide that it was.
  9. Yeah, for as good as Manning is, he'll always be considered a playoff choker unless he gets a ring. Which is a shame, cause he might be the best quarterback ever. While on the other side of the field, Tom Brady can throw 5 interceptions on Sunday, but still be considered the best playoff quarterback in the world if they win the game. I hope Manning goes off for about 450 and 4 TD's. If it's Colts vs. Bears, I'm a Bears fan, so I have to go Bears. If it's Colts vs. Saints, I'll probably go for Manning to get his ring. If it's Patriots vs. Saints, I hope Drew Brees torches the Pats. :D
  10. Right now the high temperature that I'm seeing is 26 degrees. And that's a high. It'll probably be much colder at gametime. Definitely an advantage to the Bears. I'm hoping for freezing rain - sleet - worst blizzard on record in Chicago.... something along those lines. The Saints might be able to play in it, we don't know. But based on the fact that they're a dome team that plays in the South, I think winter weather might get into their heads more than the Bears.
  11. I saw last night that the Bears are currently 3 point favorites, which is usually what the home team gets. The odds makers are saying this game is essentially a pick em. If the weather is crappy, it puts the Bears at a slight advantage, but this game can go either way. The Seahawks scared me too, but any given team on any given day.... I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  12. Aren't they ripping off the "Who Dey?" of last year's Bengals? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The Bengals are the ones who ripped it off. "Who Dat?" comes from a song that came out in 1981 called "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?" Wikipedia disagrees with you. They say it was a Bengals chant in 1981, and Who Dey is also the name of the Bengals mascot apparently.
  13. There is such a thing as being a sore winner too though. I'm on LT's side on this one. Everyone got angry when TO stood on the star against Dallas, I don't see this as being any different.
  14. He said it was a classless move, and he felt disrespected. He also said that the Patriots behavior reflected their coach. Something along those lines.
  15. Go Colts. The image of the Patriots standing on the Chargers logo doing the Shawne Merriman dance was enough to push me over to the Indy side. (That, and I think Tom Brady is the most overrated QB on the planet. 3 picks today. He got bailed out when McCree fumbled. If that had happened to any other QB, they'd be talking about how lucky he was that his receiver bailed him out with a good strip.) Anyone see Tomlinson's press conference after? I have a feeling he's rooting for the Colts too. Never thought I'd see him use the word "classless".
  16. I hear ya OleMissCub. I know some Saints fans, and they want the same thing. But unfortunately, the media will probably try to play the Saints off as the "feel good team", and the Bears as the weakest team out there. It's already begun, just go anywhere on ESPN.com. The Gene Wojo article is a great example. Or watch Dan Roan on WGN refer to the Saints as the "team of destiny", or "America's hopefuls." (Both of which he said during their highlights.) The Saints are a damn good team, and people should be talking about that. It's kind of like what happened when the DBacks played the Yankees in the series after 9/11. After the coverage of that series, I could've sworn Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson were hitmen for the mob, and that Bob Brenley killed Santa Claus. They're going to try to make any Saints playoff game out to be more than just a football game. And I feel bad for true Saints fans because of it.
  17. They already clinched the playoffs, I know that much. And that's around the time when they got a first round bye. (Not sure if the bye came as a result of that game though)
  18. Kinda like how the Bears barely squeaked by the Bucs at home? Do you mean the meaningless regular season game after the Bears already clinched?
  19. It's all just the start of making the Bears look evil so the "feel good story of the year" Saints will become the media darlings. Expect a lot of anti- Bears talk this week. After all, Chicago wasn't hit by a hurricane.
  20. You gotta really be looking to see Grossman as "Otherwise mostly awful". For comparison, here are the other passer ratings in the playoffs so far... Peyton Manning: 39.6 Steve Mcnair: 49.9 Drew Brees: 96.2 Jeff Garcia: 88.2 Matt Hasslebeck: 66.9 I missed the articles about Manning, Mcnair, and Hasslebeck being "mostly awful". Grossman had an ok game. That's pretty much all anyone was wanting from him. Leave the guy alone. As long as he does enough to give his team a chance to win, I'm alright with how he plays. We're not asking for Joe Montana out there. Just someone that can win a game.
  21. Yeah, Briggs, and I think Urlacher already had that hole blocked up. He would've had to pull off something amazing to get by both of them for a first down, let alone a touchdown.
  22. Accuweather.com says high of 27, low of 20. Partly cloudy. I'm hoping for a frozen hell. I'd like to see a dome team deal with Chicago winter fury. Oh I didn't even think of the dome factor. Awesome. Exactly. Bring the pain God.
  23. Accuweather.com says high of 27, low of 20. Partly cloudy. I'm hoping for a frozen hell. I'd like to see a dome team deal with Chicago winter fury.
  24. Brohm is more than likely staying for his senior season at Louisville. But yeah, I don't see Quinn becoming a top level quarterback within 3 years.
  25. I picked the Chargers, but I'm pulling for the Bears. I like that no one has picked the Colts. Peyton may win a ring one day, but it won't be this year.
