  1. I thought about this too. The only way I could see the Falcons possibly taking a QB would be if Brohm had declared. I could see Petrino wanting him to be their future quarterback. But that's all null and void since he's going back to Louisville.
  2. I'm a bigger fan of this one, but it might be too big for an avatar. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/m_scafide/thatpepsigirl2.gif
  3. I can't even wrap my brain around this. I can't imagine what it'd look like. Photoshop anybody? Two words: Violet Beauregarde. Wikipedia says the Colts wore blue pants with white jerseys for their first three games of 1995, and then switched back to all white. Pictures should be online somewhere, I'm just not motivated enough to look. :o
  4. What's up with your PS3 hate?
  5. Not just the Bears, I'm the NFL would be held responsible too. No way he plays without the court's permission. In fact, if he showed up without permission, I'm sure someone, either Bears or NFL would turn him over to the police. And if I'm not mistaken, once you leave the state, doesn't it become a federal matter? (Meaning the FBI can show up and arrest you on the spot) Yeah, I don't think it's even an option. He needs to see if he can get some sort of special treatment for the Super Bowl. If not, we'll have to go with the guys we have. I think we'll be okay on the front line. I really think it's a non-issue anyway. It'd be hard to not allow a guy to go on a work related trip like this. Someone said it before, I don't care if he has to stay in a cell the entire time he's not a practice, playing, or at a press conference. Just get him there.
  6. It already costs an arm and a leg to get tickets. Most of the time, I'd prefer to watch it in front of a big screen. Cubs games on the other hand...
  7. Anything but the black-on-black, guaranteed-you'll-play-bad, nightmare unis Go with the navy on white. I like the traditional whites, but the navy's are better. Stay away from the hideous orange if you have a chance. They don't need to be seen from space.

  9. Well, he IS a Packers fan  But seriously, he's under house arrest. If he isn't granted permission to go to Miami with the team, people shouldn't be in an uproar about it. Really? I think if Tank is held back in Chicago it blows the doors off every news outlet in the city. If he's under house arrest, doesnt he still have the right to make a living? Who's your backup DT? Idonije? You could do a whole hell of a lot worse than that. Of course the media will make a big deal out of it, but I don't think it would really hinder the outcome of the game. Losing Tank would be a huge loss. With Harris out, Tank is the only DT we have who has a shot to put pressure on the QB. Tank was missed in the 2 games he was out for at the end of the season. Even if Tank is under house arrest, doesnt he still have the right to make a living? Yep, that's why he's been allowed to practice and play in Illinois so far.
  10. Well, he IS a Packers fan  But seriously, he's under house arrest. If he isn't granted permission to go to Miami with the team, people shouldn't be in an uproar about it. There was an example from a few years ago, though I can't remember the players name. Almost exact situation, and that player was granted permission. And since Tank Johnson wasn't the target of this investigation (it was Posey), and he more than likely will be cleared of the charges since he's technically a resident of Arizona where the guns are legal, he should be allowed to go.
  11. The only reason I can see for not letting Tank go is because the judge wants to be famous. By saying he can't go, every one in the world would soon know the judge's name, because that'd be a huge story for the media to talk about. And yes, I could see some Bears fans really doing something stupid. Just look at what poor Bartman has to deal with, and he didn't even really do anything. Now add another half of a city to the mix, and you're bound to get some crazies out there.
  12. If he had to apologize to his coach about it, then that means even he knows he shouldn't have done it. The leaping I don't care about, the pointing was the thing that got to me. And I'm pretty sure got to Colston as Urlacher unloaded on him shortly after. (On an incompletion none the less.)
  13. It's just an incorrect story that the AP or another newswire is probably running with. It was on sports radio and in the papers and very well publicized that Tank received permission to go to Miami and the coach, a Packer fan, said something to the effect of, "...but you won't be needing to go." Do you mean judge?
  14. They probably only did it for that shot so people would be able to easily recognize the player. In the game, I'd expect them not to have the #'s.
  15. Seriously. For once, I don't mind the roll-eyes. How many QB's have performed like Rex has with the amount of game experience Rex has? Not many. Hell, look at Drew Brees's first couple of seasons. If you compare, his numbers are right there with any of the greats this early in his career. He may or may not become a great QB (all it will really take is the consistency to turn his clunkers into mediocre games like yesterday), but how anyone could pass judgment on him already, based on what he's shown, is beyond me. I know. He had 7 games with a QB rating over 100. That's more than Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady... actually, it's more than anyone not named Bulger. The only problem is, when he's been bad, he's been really bad. And since that's all the media likes to focus on, that's all everyone hears about anymore. He's an inconsistent young quarterback. But when he's on, he's actually quite good.
  16. I'd put him ahead of Roethlesberger from last year as well. Big Ben didn't play poorly, but his role in that offense was clear. Just hand off the ball to someone else.
  17. They were saying on the news last night that Tank was cleared to go.
  18. At least both of them answered "no". Theisman answered no, but said that's only because he hasn't played in the Super Bowl yet.
  19. I thought I heard Manning and Dungy say that they'd rather go into a big game as favorites. Something about helping the confidence of the team. And I'm glad that people still don't respect the Bear defense. (Dr. Z called them opportunistic, but worn down I believe.) It's when people don't respect them that they start causing turnover after turnover.
  20. That may become my sig after the super bowl
  21. Peyton Manning to have x-rays on his injured thumb. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs06/news/story?id=2739114 They don't believe it'll be a problem. He finished the game with it, so I'd assume he'd play in the super bowl even if his thumb fell off.
  22. Peyton Manning is notorious for this too. I believe it he absolutely abused Darrent Williams when they played this year.
  23. I seriously doubt that made a lick of difference. Do the Bears D have to get taunted to play hard and effective? No, but did Urlacher have to completely blow up Marques Colston on that incomplete pass? I think part of that hit was just Urlacher having some fun and unloading some anger on the closest target to him.
  24. Agreed. If the Bears are going to win, Grossman is definitely going to have to make some big plays. Or no stupid ones. I'm not sure if Rex just playing safe is going to do it. The Colts are going to put up points. Rex might have to answer the call on one or more occasions. The one thing I'm nervous about is the mystique of the Super Bowl getting to a guy like Grossman. Manning seems to be the seasoned vet that might thrive under Super Bowl pressure. (Although I am aware of his past playoff problems) This is the type of game that could define Rex Grossman's career. If he does well under this type of pressure, I can see him becoming great. If he folds, well, lets not get into that.
