  1. Impossible to guess who to pin this loss on: bad players or bad coaching? They both sucked in equally large parts.
  2. Bears are now 3-14. 2022 keeps marching on.
  3. I'm heartened by the fact he's pitching well despite not having his best stuff. Still has a shutout despite all the traffic he's put on the basepaths.
  4. Tough to be a fan when stuff like this is happening to you.
  5. Fighting the urge to get overly excited bout this team. Oh... the hell with it!
  6. I feel like we need a "This day in Shohei Ohtani" thread just to keep up with the wild stats this guy is posting. Unreal!
  7. I remember that combination as well. Caray was as much an entertainer as he was a play by play caller and Piersall was a total loose cannon. Good stuff.
  8. Anyone have Frank Schwindel on speed dial?
  9. What worries me is he broke a bone doing something routine. Fractures like that concern me; there could be a little more to it. But I'm not a doctor, so...
  10. What's the latest on Cody Heuer? Saw the video of the injury on Tuesday but haven't heard anything since. Hoping for the best but it doesn't look good.
  11. And now this development: https://nesn.com/2023/05/cardinals-shockingly-move-willson-contreras-off-catching-duties/
  12. Came here to revel in the Cub's early season success. Leaving with a headache. Kyle was here. Should have known better...
  13. Nice series win. But the bullpen is still a little too shaky for my taste.
  14. I liked the "Active Topics" Forum. It was a great warehouse for recently updated threads, no matter which forum it was posted in. Really want that back.
  15. I've grown accustomed to it faster than I thought I would. However, watching last night's game, I loved the tension that built up between pitches. With no clock running, the excitement really had a chance to grow. I feel like that's an element to the game as a fan that I'll miss... But probably not, since it will be more noticeable during the playoffs, which won't involve the Cubs.
  16. Loved how he posed and soaked it all in!
  17. Over-officiated, then under-officiated. Crazy.
  18. I, for one, am glad that Jed has ensured the Cubs will be flexible financially in 2036.
  19. A well-deserved award!
