  1. Probably not wearing full pads for a photo shoot.
  2. Not buying it, either. As a former educator, it sounds like, "Wait, I can't use my cheat sheet? You're really going to make me study to pass the course?"
  3. I actually think AJ is doing a good job *shrug* At least they're not fapping over the Cardinals like you'd normally hear. They're actually pointing out some difficult issues that team has.
  4. Weird because this is a quote from him in a Trib article from yesterday; Is it hard to be on the road without getting to enjoy the cities like they’re accustomed to? “Yeah, it’s hard,” first baseman Anthony Rizzo said. “It’s hard that everyone else is open, as the country opens up, to have to be so secluded. “But you kind of get used to it. You stick to your own little groups that you stick to. You hang in the hotel. You can go eat outside. It’s better than not doing anything.” I sorta got the impression that he was vaccinated. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Guess not. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cubs/ct-chicago-cubs-covid-19-vaccine-david-ross-20210609-wlskumrk25fgdloansf46sa6py-story.html
  5. I can only assume this was referencing Southside Tony. What a dink. It's been deleted. Context?
  6. Nice to see the Cubs with the F#$% The Closer game.
  7. Man, A-Rod is an insufferable b!tch. The guy keeps getting worse. I don't know how Vasgersian can work with the guy.
  8. Bumping the Boog thread! Even though Boog was a proven entity, I thought I'd miss Len. I appreciated Len's knowledge of the game and his play calling abilities. Never scripted. Called the game like a fan, not an announcer. Boog has been incredible! He's just been very fun to listen to. He knows how to play to JD, who also knows how to have a good time in the booth. They make even the crappiest of Cub games sound tolerable. Anybody not liking Boog? P.S. Feel free to tee off on Sutcliffe and Dempster.
  9. This has got to be one of the saddest paragraphs ever written in the history of sports journalism: It is the sixth time in the Super Bowl era the Bears have drafted a quarterback in the first round and the first time since Pace traded up from No. 3 to 2 to take Mitch Trubisky in 2017. The Bears also selected Rex Grossman (No. 22 in 2003), Cade McNown (No. 12 in 1999), Jim Harbaugh (No. 26 in 1987) and Jim McMahon (No. 5 in 1982) in the first round since 1966. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/bears/ct-chicago-bears-nfl-draft-20210430-hzy2ia2q4ba6xnxasvclzc2d4e-story.html
  10. Zaidman, I assume. Who IMO is even tougher to listen to than Grote was at play by play. Nine innings of play-by-play from Zach Zaidman. The very definition of Hell.
  11. Small sample size... but I like what I'm seeing from the Cubs so far.
  12. Baylor defense is real = giving up 87? I grew up watching Nolan Richardson basketball. Good defense is harassing your opponent for 40 minutes and wearing them out running the floor. Advertised as "40 minutes of hell."
  13. Anyone else see see a left-handed Rod Beck when Chafin comes to the mound?
  14. Honestly... this is going to be a fun game to watch!
  15. The Cubs should be losing by more than 2. Yet right now it feels like they are.
  16. He needs a not-so-subtle reminder of the stupid blackout rules on MLB-TV. Giants and A's are blacked out in Guam. GUAM!!!
  17. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cubs/ct-chicago-cubs-marquee-sports-network-fubotv-20210331-u4vxc6ip6zdspe5uwjnkrzwfhm-story.html fuboTV just added Marquee. Sounds like maybe this is the start of the dominoes falling.
  18. That one will live on in Packer lore forever. I will make sure it lives on in Packer lore. Time and time again.
  19. That could not have happened to a better team! :yahoo:
  20. I still remember the night he hit his 715th home run. I was 10 at the time and was crazy for baseball. My mom let me stay up late so I could watch. I was disappointed he walked in his first plate appearance and went nuts when he hit the record breaker. My mom had to peel me off the ceiling. The next day, I had a paperback copy of the Guinness book of world records. I crossed out Babe Ruth's name and picture and wrote in Aaron's name. Just an amazing man and player.
  21. Burn it down. Burn it all down.
