  1. Wait... they're not in super tank mode right now? Can't wait to see what that looks like!
  2. I lost Ed Truck Anthony Rizzo and it feels like somebody took my heart and dropped it into a bucket of boiling tears. And, at the same time, somebody else is hitting my soul in the crotch with a frozen sledgehammer. And then a third guy walks in and starts punching me in the grief bone.
  3. I just don’t like the way it sounds. Guardians is a bit of a mouthful. Three syllables is too much for a team name. Athletics Cardinals Diamondbacks Mariners Nationals Orioles Athletics = A's Cardinals = Cards Diamondbacks = D'backs Mariners = M's Nationals = Nats Orioles = O's Guardians = Guards?
  4. That... can't possibly be the name. How in the hell do you market that? Maybe if he has no pants like Clark this has a chance.

  6. Missed the point entirely, but ok.
  7. Of course sites want you to click on their content. answersafrica.com, most certainly does. https://answersafrica.com/the-untold-truth-of-ben-zobrist-and-julianna-zobrist-marriage-and-divorce.html Their website is dedicated to being the "knowledge base for Africa, news and entertainment website with Africans in mind. It is a place for individuals and explorers who have an interest in Africa. https://answersafrica.com/about This site popped up on the second page of a Google search using the terms "Zobrist divorce". Perhaps I'm being naive, but is there a connection I'm missing between this divorce and Africa? Or will websites stretch the normal boundaries of their content because of the juicy details? The point I'm trying to make... and I thought I made this clear in my previous post (perhaps not) is that more media will be running this story than normal because of the details of the divorce.
  8. My horsefeathering apologies for my horsefeathering incorrect use of the horsefeathering term" click bait" JFC... Well, if you look at my original post... I never used the term "click bait." That was all you. I just said "More clicks, baby!" And I still believe that to be true. More people will follow this divorce not so much for who is involved (although in another post I admitted that plays a part of it), but for the details that have already come out. I'd be willing to bet Ben and Julianna were considered "boring" before all this came out. That David Ross is "history's most boring monster" has nothing to do with it (although I could argue more people know him than they know Ben. Ben wasn't on DWTS or dry-humped a corpse on SNL). Lots of couples divorce amicably. Maybe Ross' was; maybe it wasn't. That nothing was ever really written about it leads me to believe it's the latter. I could be wrong. But it's all in the details. And more media will follow this divorce because of the deets. My whole point.
  9. And the reason why anyone knows any of the details is because of... You're right... it is an awesomely juicy gossip story. That's why the divorce updates keep coming. I know David Ross is divorced. But I had to look it up; it was just last year. If it was reported in the media, it probably garnered a couple paragraphs, tops. It's not a reach at all to think Ben's divorce proceedings are "click bait" given some of the information that's come out already. Because it's a ridiculous story, and ridiculous celebrity gossip has been a thing forever. "Clickbait" would be, "You'll Never Believe the Insane Details of David Ross' Divorce!!!!" and then the actual blog or article or whatever pulls a bait and switch and it's just about the boring David Ross divorce we never really heard about because it was so boring and involved David Ross, who is history's most boring monster. My horsefeathering apologies for my horsefeathering incorrect use of the horsefeathering term" click bait" JFC...

It's not a reach at all to think Ben's divorce proceedings are "click bait" given some of the information that's come out already. Celebrity divorces have been huge public stories since long before some [expletive] thought of the term clickbait. I think you're applying "celebrity status" to Ben and Julianna a little too liberally. Maybe that's just me. Personally, I think more people know more about them because of the details of the divorce than they did before this.

  12. Also making him go to counseling with the man you are cheating with. That's some next level horsefeathers. This is why the divorce is more public than most; the press is loving the salacious details. More clicks, baby!
  13. Feeling a lot better about this team after the win! Just kidding. I'm drunk.
  14. 1) Take early lead 2) Don't score again 3) Give up lead 4) Lose 5) Repeat Incredibly predictable
  15. That would be a good and fun idea. But my favorite idea is just starting the season with Fields. I'm thinking it would be awesome to maybe package an entire offense around Fields. That would allow the Bears some flexibility to make a special package of plays for Dalton. Like, say, the holder on extra point attempts.
  16. Anybody else notice the lack of masks when they show the Cubs' dugout? Haven't seen one on Ross... he almost always has one on.
  17. Probably not wearing full pads for a photo shoot.
  18. Not buying it, either. As a former educator, it sounds like, "Wait, I can't use my cheat sheet? You're really going to make me study to pass the course?"
  19. I actually think AJ is doing a good job *shrug* At least they're not fapping over the Cardinals like you'd normally hear. They're actually pointing out some difficult issues that team has.
  20. Weird because this is a quote from him in a Trib article from yesterday; Is it hard to be on the road without getting to enjoy the cities like they’re accustomed to? “Yeah, it’s hard,” first baseman Anthony Rizzo said. “It’s hard that everyone else is open, as the country opens up, to have to be so secluded. “But you kind of get used to it. You stick to your own little groups that you stick to. You hang in the hotel. You can go eat outside. It’s better than not doing anything.” I sorta got the impression that he was vaccinated. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Guess not. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cubs/ct-chicago-cubs-covid-19-vaccine-david-ross-20210609-wlskumrk25fgdloansf46sa6py-story.html
  21. I can only assume this was referencing Southside Tony. What a dink. It's been deleted. Context?
  22. Nice to see the Cubs with the F#$% The Closer game.
