  1. The Cubs have had some pretty crappy losses... but they've always followed them up with a win. They've had two 2-game losing streaks: to Texas to start the year and then San Diego/Seattle. That's somewhat promising. But... that bullpen!🤬
  2. Using Betternet Free VPN to watch MLB.TV to hide my location. Living in SE Wisconsin, but blacked out. Any suggestions on free/reasonably priced VPN's that work in the Chicago/SE Wisconsin area? Blackout restrictions are so bloody frustrating. Even for away games? Really?
  3. Bears are allegedly putting up $2 billion toward the cost. But I'll believe that when I see Virginia sign the check.
  4. In 2015, I bought six tickets to three games. Spent $99. Almost half of that were for two tickets near the Cubs dugout. Going to Mesa in two weeks. $99 basically gets you one seat.
  5. I keep going back to the moment right after the two minute warning. 3rd down. Picking up a first could have helped them kill all of KC's time outs. Shanahan should have called a time out. Take a look at how KC was lining up defensively. They had the time outs to kill to get it right.
  6. Not an accident, my friend!😉 I honestly don't know for sure... just a feeling
  7. I kind of feel like there's at times a little union pressure to take the highest contract. Kind of a "others struggled so you can get this type of payday" mentality. I'm sure there's also some pressure from agents; a bigger contract means a bigger cut. Probably doesn't happen very often. But I'm fairly sure it's something in the back of the minds of the players looking for a fat payday.
  8. The number one pick in the draft. The number nine pick in the draft. A flawed yet incredibly athletic, young quarterback who could net the Bears multiple draft picks in a trade. This is a huge tipping point the Bears face that could have an incredibly positive effect on the next 5-10 years. Is Matt Eberflus the person to who leads for the next 5-10 years? I'm of the opinion that he is not. While the Bears improved as a team this season--and I'll give Eberflus credit here--they improved a lot after their first four games, his coaching style cost the Bears a few victories. And it didn't seem like lessons were learned (beginning with week 4 against Denver). Eberflus is RIck Renteria 2.0. Thanks for getting us to this point. We need a next level person at the helm.
  9. They're going to have to break the NIL bank... that's the only way Iowa is going to be able to recruit anyone to play for that dumpster fire of an offense.
  10. This statistic is both amusing and maddening. Like others, I've given Eberflus credit for not losing the team... but this is a pretty damning stat.
  11. For me... the needle had been moving in favor of keeping Eberflus. He just buried the needle to fire him at season's end.
  12. Honestly, I'm kind of digging the fact that in this age if "instant information," no one knows anything. It's kind of comical!
  13. FWIW... This is what Wrigley looks like right now. Not much baseball feels at the moment.
  14. The headline should read: I'm Pissed That I'm This Big, Important Reporter And Don't Know Squat About What's Happening
  15. Anyone else irrationally refreshing this thread for updates?
  16. I will never, ever be that desperate for a World Series trophy.
  17. Counsell will probably have a say. He won't ultimately decide, nit he'll at least get a chance to plead his case for people he truly wants. ETA: Counsell probably has a pretty good read on who the current Cubs coaches are. If nothing else, he'll have an idea on how to work with them, whether he has a say or not.
  18. So was David Ross. Just sayin...
  19. I'm curious... how much did Jed Hoyer share about the Cubs' off-season plans? I can't imagine he'd share a whole lot... but maybe enough for Counsell to sign on? I mean, aside from the 40 million other reasons why he'd sign.
  20. Pretty ruthless, considering Hoyer and Ricketts both gave Ross a "vote of confidence" prior to the end of the season. But if you want to win, sometimes you have to be ruthless. Now go get him some players to manage!
  21. Gotta admit... Eberflus and Getsy coached the hell out of Bagent. Had a good game plan for him to succeed and it worked.
  22. When your corroborating source is the Pat MacAfee show, you have problems.
