  1. Probably a question that deserves its own thread, but... is this sustainable? 33 games in is a decent sample size (20% of the season so far.) However, I'm a Cubs fan and this is baseball, so....
  2. Wondering if the Cubs have ever given up 10 runs in an inning (in the 8th, no less) and still won. Incredible!
  3. It's great that it's worked so well, it's buying time for Shaw and PCA to work through early season struggles without it drastically affecting the win column.
  4. Dodgers broadcasters today taking Cubs ownership to task based on Jed's comments about "budget constraints." They find it unbelievable as well.
  5. Don't care. And if it was... glad the Bears ponied up to get their man.
  6. I want to see Johnson at Halas Hall with a Bears hat on and standing at a podium with Ryan Poles and Kevin Warren in the background. Top if off with a horsefeathers-eating grin on George McCaskey. Then I'll believe it.
  7. No doubt about it... the Bears really softened up the Packers. Made it easy for the Eagles. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  8. Obligatory Abe Simpson post for this thread.
  9. Can't find the radio call from Joniak and Thayer for the game-winning field goal. Anyone?
  10. If ever a team needed to go out on a high note... it was the Bears. And yes, ending an bazillion game losing streak by beating the playoff bound Packers in Green Bay constitutes as a high note. Still gotta clean house with the coaching staff. Need a fresh start.
  11. Feel sorry for Parker Jones. The kid got a little too excited and cost his team 15 yards. I don't believe it ultimately was a deciding factor in the game... but ESPN putting his face on TV meant his face got plastered all over the internet. Poor kid didn't even have a helmet to pull over his head.
  12. Played with swagger and had the game to back it up. Helluva player!
  13. You've been drinking, too! 😉
  14. Kmet hasn't been a target. Not his fault. He's been needed as a blocker a lot more often than he should. The fact that Moore is even walking... let alone playing in the NFL... is a testament to his character. The guy's been beaten down on so many occasions and still gets back into it. He hasn't been paid enough for the beating he's taken.
  15. I'm just frustrated. With everything. Coaches, players, referees, front office... you name it. Actually... I feel real sorry for the players. They have to put their bodies and reputations on the line for the horrendous coaching and game-planning day in and day out. They're being put in impossible positions by people (coaches and front office) who are... by all metrics... being totally outclassed despite being at a talent level on par with (the offensive line notwithstanding) the vast majority of their opponents. I've been drinking. Hope this made sense. TLDR; It sucks. It all sucks.
  16. This Georgia-Georgia Tech game puts the NFL overtime rules to shame. This finish is incredible!
  17. The presser gave them time to clean out Eberflus' desk.
