  1. I was deeply involved in a Type A vs Type B as they relate to FHA, IBC and IRC discussion today and it occurred to me that all you really need are walls around the bathroom. The rest could be handled with cabinetry and casework. Obviously, it all means we’re getting Harper I’m sold.
  2. Butbutbut.... I thought the Giants were going to take Jason Heyward so we could get Harper!
  3. Thanks a lot. Now I’m refreshing this thread every 30 seconds and surfing other sites hoping against hope that there’s a grain of truth to this.
  4. This post will never receive enough likes!
  5. This is going to be amazing! Jussie Smolett's new hero!
  6. If true, San Diego will be doing a great job of shaming other owners by spending to win. Hahahahahahaha..... owners have no shame.
  7. Clearly graduated from the "Jon Heyman School for Twitter" near the top of the class.
  8. Well, to be fair the cat hasn’t been TOLD the cubs are out of it so he’s technically correct Anyone else questioning the #HotStove hashtag?
  9. Does anyone think the process could have been sped up a bit if Harper or Machado set their own arbitrary deadline? Team execs might have a little more incentive to speed up the process to get their best offer on the table earlier.
  10. Thank God! Season’s back on!
  11. https://deadspin.com/your-favorite-baseball-team-can-afford-any-free-agent-i-1830890838 He’s right.
  12. Great win in what essentially was a playoff game for the Vikings and a playoff atmosphere from the crowd. At least early on before the Bears crushed all their hopes and dreams. The passed a good test with the victory.
  13. I want to puke. :barf:
  14. I keep replaying that shoulda been interception by Kyle Fuller. He catches that ball and the Bears season looks a whole lot better than it already does now.
  15. Best Lee Smith save ever. I remember watching this live and wondering how the hell he was still standing up,
  16. Deal? Theo; “You can just have Chatwood. Really! Merry Christmas!”
  17. I’m starting to think he’s really going to be on the team next year. Or at least serve his suspension with us and then maybe gets moved when it comes up, like Osuna. Gross. I’m starting to think Boras is talking highly of a client of his because.
  18. Once you get on the list of former managers, you are now eligible to be a part of every managerial search list, which keeps your name out there. He already knows he's respected by the Cubs, so it's not like he's risking getting blackballed out of coaching entirely. See: Renteria, Rick
  19. The Cubs are 733-725 under the ownership of the Ricketts family, and average 81-79 per season. They've only been anywhere close to aggressive financially in 2 of 9 years. To have the audacity to claim that they've done all they can do in terms of payroll is [expletive] disgusting. They worked hard to suppress payroll for half a decade before even thinking about trying to win games. This is the first year they will flirt with the top of the payroll lists, after raking in tons of cash, and to get cold feet now is absolutely ridiculous. Apologizing for their belt tightening is pathetic. I'm willing to give the Ricketts the benefit of the doubt the first few years they owned the club. As much as I'd like to think I'd hit the ground running and create a championship caliber team overnight, I'd probably have a learning curve with everything that goes along with ownership, even with a couple billion dollars at my disposal. When Epstein came on board, he had a plan to turn the club into perennial contenders (though the "parallel fronts" line turned out to be a truckload of crap). That plan included spending money when the time came. Well, now they are perennial contenders and now is that time. Bryce Harper is a guy who can turn what is now a very good ball club into a team that could be unstoppable. Not to mention the fact he'll generate revenue with his national following. Money should not be an object here. Get him.
  20. I clicked on "Page 43" of the thread hoping for an update... and I get this. What fresh hell did I stumble into? ETA: Is it safe to go back a page and find out? Or should I just let it go? The past like 5 pages have been the most exciting of the off-season, but if you want Bryce News.. I knew the thread was about to go off the tracks at Sofa’s first mention of pizza. But a “great Billy Williams boob scandal?”

  22. So when does the "15 day window" start exactly? The World Series ended exactly 15 days ago coming up in a few hours.
