  1. This seems as good a place as any to put this: https://deadspin.com/lawsuit-says-nationals-hitting-coach-shared-revenge-por-1819236533
  2. I hear Randall Simon is Dusty's top candidate to replace him. Lenny Harris, dude is a professional hitter. Neifi Perez. He'll save their season.
  3. Look at Hendricks walking off the mound. The man is fired up!
  4. John Lackey Cold!
  5. https://vimeo.com/user1938458 Next time, just say "yes." Please do not provide links. Myself and the rest of the NSB community thank you.
  6. Um... no. I've had many people tell me to watch ESPN's "30 for 30" on the '85 Bears. I refuse. Why? I lived it! I watched every freaking down of the entire season. And I honestly mean every down. I loved how they laid waste to the rest of the old NFC Central (the "Black and Blue Division" from Chris Berman's days of anchoring SportsCenter [i hate that guy.]). I ticked off my mom because I opened the sliding glass door to let the cold air into the house when the Bears beat the Giants so that I could, "feel what the fans feel." I was at the old "Z's Sports Tap" when the Bears humiliated the Patriots to win Super Bowl XX. My arms were red from the cold and the poorly executed "high-5's" with all the other idiots on the streets that night. I have great memories of that season that are my own. They're all mine. I don't want some lame-ass movie directed by someone's jaded opinion of the 2016 season clouding my memory of the best season I'll ever witness. There's a reason why the phrase, "You never forget your first" exists. I hope to see many more world series championships by the Cubs. They're certainly poised for a historic run. Don't ruin it with a crappy movie. p.s. drunk rant
  7. Holy crap! I don't know where to begin! Need a little help... do we go with the meatbally "I'd rather have Piscotty over Bryant" route? Or can we just go straight to the Cards fan with a swastika on his neck? That one seems too easy.
  8. Legitimate question: Is there a rule on how many uniformed people can be in the dugout? The bold implies the ambiguity on two fronts: uniforms and people. Obviously there can be only 25 guys who can play. But is there a limit on number of guys (regardless of whether there in uniform or not) and the number of guys in uniform (like the 5th starter who's played all year but doesn't make the 25) on the bench?
  9. The Cubs just announced Taylor Davis will be playing the entire left side of the infield all by himself. There will be no one batting in the 8th spot. It will be an automatic out.
  10. Lost in the discussion about the '69 Cubs is the fact that Mets went on an incredible run to end that season. They were 10 games back of the Cubs and finished 8 ahead by going 38-6 over their last 44 games.
  11. Pretty good career, pretty forgettable stint as Cubs manager. Though he did bring in Wavin' Wendell.
  12. Best win of the season so far! Now don't horsefeathers it up in in Cincy.
  13. I think we should give him one more at-bat to see what he can do.
  14. And his underwear, too.
  15. The Cubs were 14-4 against the Bucs last year. Time to remind them again tomorrow that they're our beyotch.
  16. Most of those posters aren't mad that a team tanked. They're mad the Cubs did it and did it so successfully.
  17. he flew face first into Heyward's dangus Isn't he... but... shouldn't they... never mind.
  18. Help me out here. Why does game cast say that Baez left the game with an "injured head"?
  19. Maybe explains why balls in the dirt don't bounce far away from Molina. It might not necessarily be pitchers putting gunk on the ball.
  20. There's almost no foul territory beyond the dugouts. Not that there was a lot to begin with. But those fans near the old bullpen areas are going to feel like they're sitting on the field.
  21. This has got to be killing the haters. I LOVE it!!! :yahoo:
  22. Yeah, I completely concur. I don't understand why baseball doesn't just end or stop this pitching debacle. I believe most "real" baseball fans consider this pitching delivery illegal and don't like it. I wish R. Manfred or whatever committee would just come out and define what a legal pitching motion is, i.e. pushing off the rubber once without dragging your backfoot before delivering the ball. I used to believe your backfoot had to have contact with the pitching rubber on the mound up to the moment you deliver the ball out of your hand as a pitcher. I don't know exactly how to define a "legal" pitching motion in precise terminology, but whatever the hell C. Capps is doing is NOT normal and seems like cheating... Let's say a righty is pitching from the stretch. Can he start with his left foot on the rubber and pivot 180 degrees on his right foot during his delivery? Yeah, it sounds difficult to do, but now the pitcher may only have to throw 58' instead of 60'-6". As long as the right foot always remained on the ground, wouldn't this be legal, too?
  23. Helluvan article. And with so, so many fans speaking out against Dexter, it's amazing how quiet the Cardinals organization is. Stick up for the guy!!!
  24. Love watching these videos! And listening to the crack of the bat is just... it's getting to me.
